1The eighteenth path is called Intelligence, or House of affluence. From it are drawn the arcana and the hidden senses that slumber in its shadow. The nineteenth path is called Intelligence of secrecy, or of all spiritual activities. The affluence it receives comes from the most exalted Benediction and the supreme glory. The twentieth path is called Intelligence of the Will. It prepares all creatures, and each one of them in particular, for the demonstration of the existence of primordial Wisdom. The twenty-first path is called Intelligence that pleases the seeker; it receives the divine influence and influences, through 6a (a scanning misread of "sa" — "its") blessing, all existences. The twenty-second path is called faithful Intelligence, because in it are deposited the spiritual virtues, which increase there until they go forth toward those who dwell beneath its shadow. The twenty-third path is called stable Intelligence. It is the cause of the consistency of all the numerations (Sephiroth). The twenty-fourth path is called imaginative Intelligence. It gives resemblance to all the resemblances of beings which, according to its aspects, are created to its liking. The twenty-fifth path is called Intelligence of Temptation or of trial, because it is the first temptation by which God tests the pious.
2The twenty-sixth path is called renewing Intelligence, because it is through it that GOD (blessed be He) renews all that can be renewed in the creation of the world. The twenty-seventh path is called agitating Intelligence. It is indeed from it that the Spirit of every creature of the supreme Orb is created, and agitation, that is to say, the movement to which they are subject. The twenty-eighth path is called natural Intelligence. It is through it that the nature of all that exists within the Orb of the Sun is perfected and rendered complete. The twenty-ninth path is called corporeal Intelligence. It forms every body that is embodied beneath all the orbs, and its growth. The thirtieth path is called collective Intelligence, because it is from it that the Astrologers draw, through the judgment of the stars and celestial signs, their speculations and the refinements of their science based on the movements of the stars. The thirty-first path is called perpetual Intelligence. Why? Because it governs the movement of the Sun and the Moon according to their constitution, and makes them both gravitate, each in its own respective orb. The thirty-second path is called adjuvant Intelligence, because it directs all the operations of the seven planets and their divisions, and cooperates with them. Here is the practical use of these 32 paths.
3The Cabalists, when they wish to question God by whatever means concerning natural things, proceed as follows: First, in a prior preparation, they consult the 32 places of the lor chapter of Genesis, that is to say the paths of created things, and exercise their study upon them*. Then, by means of certain orations drawn from the name ELOIM (D>nbfy), they pray to God to grant them abundantly the light necessary for the path sought, and persuade themselves, through fitting ceremonies, that they are adepts of the Light of Wisdom, so that they hold themselves, through their unshakable faith and ardent charity, in the heart of the world in order to question it. So that the orison may then have greater power, they make use of the name of 42 letters1 2 3, and through it believe they will obtain what they ask.
