15. Did not receive Kain likewise, nor his oblation; which caused a violent blaze within this strong and mighty transformer, decomposed his countenance, and utterly cast him down. 6. Then Ihôah said to Kain: why this blaze on your part? and how is it that your countenance has been so decomposed and cast down? 7. Is it not so that if you do good, you bear the sign of it? and that if you do not, on the contrary, vice paints itself upon your brow? that it drags you into its inclination, which becomes your own; and that you represent yourself sympathetically in it? 8. Then Kain, declaring his thought to Habel his brother, made known to him his will. Now, it was while they were together in productive Nature that Kain, the violent centralizer, rose up with vehemence against Habel his brother, the gentle and pacific liberator, overwhelmed him with his forces, and immolated him. 9. And Ihôah said to Kain: where is Habel your brother? To which Kain answered: I do not know. Am I then his keeper, I? 10. And Ihôah said to him again: what have you done? the voice of the plaintive generations, which were to proceed from your brother, and be homogeneous with him, rises up to me from the adamic Element. 11. Now, be accursed! yourself, by this same element, whose avidity your hand was able to absorb, of these homogeneous generations that were to proceed from your brother.
212. When you till it, it will no longer join its virtual force to your efforts. Tossed by a movement of uncertainty and dread, you shall be a wanderer upon the Earth. 13. Then Kain said to Ihôah: how great my iniquity must be, according to this purification! 14. Behold! you drive me out today from the adamic Element; I must carefully hide myself from your presence; tossed by a movement of uncertainty and dread, I must be a wanderer upon the Earth: and so, whoever finds me may overwhelm me. 15. But Ihôah, declaring His will, spoke to him thus: whoever thinks to overwhelm Kain, the strong and mighty transformer, shall, on the contrary, be the one who exalts him seven times over. Then Ihôah set a sign upon Kain, so that no being who might come upon him could do him harm. 16. And Kain withdrew from the presence of Ihôah, and went to dwell in the land of exile, of dissension, and of dread, the anterior principle of temporal sensibility. 462 17. Meanwhile Kain knew his efficient volitional faculty, and she conceived, and bore Henoch, the central and founding force; then he set about building a spherical circuit, a fortified enclosure, to which he gave the name of his son Henoch.
318. And it was granted to this same Henoch to produce the existence of Whirad, the exciting movement, the motive cause; and Whirad produced that of Mehoujâel, physical manifestation, objective reality; and Mehoujâel produced that of Methoushâel, the appetent gulf of death; and Methoushâel produced that of Lamech, the knot that arrests dissolution, the flexible bond of things. 19. Now, Lamech took for himself, as his corporeal spouses, two physical faculties: the name of the first was Whada, the evident one; and that of the second, Tzilla, the deep, the obscure, the veiled one. 20. Whada gave birth to Jabal, aqueous principle, that from which abundance and physical fertility flow, father of those who dwell in fixed and elevated abodes, and who recognize property. 21. And Jabal had for brother Jubal, universal fluid, aerial principle, from which flow joy and moral prosperity, father of those who give themselves to luminous and lovable conceptions: the sciences and the arts. 22. And Tzilla also gave birth to 1 hubal-Kaïn (a scanning misread of "Thubal-Kaïn"), central diffusion, mercurial and mineral principle, instructor of those who devote themselves to mechanical works, who dig mines and forge iron. And the kin of Thubal-Kaïn was Nawhoma, the principle of the aggregation and association of peoples.
