Et à toute animalité terrestre, à toute'espèce de volatile, d’être reptiforme se mouvant sur la terre, et possédant en soi le principe inné d'un souffle animé de vie, j’ai donné en totalité l'herbe verdoyante pour aliment. Alors considérant toutes ces choses qu’il avait faites en puissance, comme présentes devant lui, il avait vu, Lui-les-Dieux. qu'elles seraient bonnes selon leur mesure. And He, the Being of beings, had created the potential existence of these corporeal immensities, legions of sea monsters, and that of every Soul of Life, animated with a reptiform movement, whose principles the waters abundantly emitted, each after its kind, and that of every bird of strong and swift wing, after its kind: and considering these things, HIM-the-Gods, He had seen that they would be good. 22. He had blessed these beings, and had declared His will to them, saying: propagate and multiply, and fill the waters of the seas; that the volatile species may multiply upon the earth. 23. And such had been the west, and such had been the east, the end and the means, the term and the departure, of the fifth phenomenal manifestation.. 24. And HIM-the-Gods had said again: the Earth shall emit from its bosom a breath of life after its kind, animated with a progressive movement, quadruped and reptile, terrestrial Animality, after its kind: and this had been done thus. 23. He had thus determined, He, the Being of beings, the potential existence of this terrestrial Animality, after its kind, and that of the quadruped Genus, after its kind; and considering these things, He had judged that they would be good.

Continuing then to declare His will, He had said, HIM-the-Gods: let us make Adam, universal Man, in our reflected shadow, according to the laws of our assimilating action; that, as a collective power, he may universally hold empire, and dominate at once in the fish of the seas, and in the bird of the heavens, and in the quadruped, and in all animality, and in every reptiform life moving upon the earth. 27. And He, the Being of beings, had created the potential existence of Adam, universal Man, in His reflected shadow; in His — 455 — divine shadow He had created him; and, as a collective power, had identified him together male and female. 28. He had blessed his collective existence, and had declared to him, collectively, His will, saying: propagate and multiply; fill the Earth and subdue it; hold universally the empire and dominate in the fish of the seas, and in the bird of the heavens, and in everything enjoying vital movement upon the Earth. 29. And to every terrestrial animality, to every species of volatile, of reptiform being moving upon the earth, and possessing within itself the innate principle of an animated breath of life, I have given, in its entirety, the green herb as food. And this had been done thus. 31. Then, considering all these things He had made in potency, as present before Him, He had seen, HIM-the-Gods, that they would be good according to their measure. And such had been the west, and such had been the east, the end and the means, the term and the departure, of the sixth phenomenal manifestation. CHAPTER II The Distinction. v. 1. Thus, having to be accomplished in act, there were accomplished in potency both the gods and the Earth, and the regulating Law that was to preside over their developments. 2. And the Being of beings, having brought to completion, at the seventh phenomenal manifestation, the sovereign act He had conceived, returned to His primitive state in this seventh period, after the entire accomplishment of the divine work He had effected. 3. This is why He blessed, HIM-the-Gods, this seventh phenomenal manifestation, and sanctified forever its symbolic existence, as being the epoch of His return to His primitive state, after the entire accomplishment of the sovereign act whose design He had created according to His efficient power. 4.
