Le Rituel du 32e degré et le sceau de ses membres montrent clairement cette filiation. Voici ce sceau du 32e qui contient l’enseignement total de l’Or- Sceau des Sublimes Princes du Royal Secret. 707 —
23.2e Degré. — Prince du Royal Secret. Ce grade, le dernier du Rite Ecossais, Ancien et Accepté, avant le grade suprême, possède le pouvoir exécutif du Rite et en résume toute la doctrine, pour en assurer le fonctionnement1. L’assemblée des Maçons de ce grade se nomme Consistoire, et sa caractéristique est une construction centrale en bois, qui représente un campement disposé de la manière suivante : une croix de Saint- André enveloppée par un cercle, entouré par un triangle équilatéral, inscrit dans un pentagone, qui porte circonscrit un heptagone, qui lui-même est inscrit dans un nonagone. Les sommets de chacun de ces polygones, ainsi que le centre et les extrémités de la croix de Saint-André, sont supposés marquer l’emplacement des lentes où campent les Francs-Maçons des 5 —f— 3 — j— 5 — j— 7 — 9 = 29 degrés qui campent séparément d’après la légende du grade 2. Cette légende est la formation d’une armée Franc-Maçonnique composée des Maçons de tous les degrés, qui entreprend une campagne pour aller s’emparer de Jérusalem, et posséder son Temple, et qui campe en attendant l’assaut définitif. Le 1er coup de canon et la lre concentration eurent lieu quand Luther se mit à la tête de la révolte de l'intelligence contre la Forme. Le 2e coup de canon et la 2° concentration eurent lieu quand l’affirmation que tout gouvernement humain tient son autorité du peuple et seulement du peuple, se produisit en Amérique. Le 3e coup de canon et la 3* concentration eurent lieu quand la proclamation de la doctrine de Liberté, Egalité et Fraternité eut lieu en France. Le 4e et le 5e coup de canon et la 4e et la 5f concentration n’ont pas encore eu lieu. A la 5e concentration, succédera le règne du Saint Empire, c’est-à-dire le règne de la Raison, de la Vérité et de la Justice 1 2. Les enseignements du grade sont complètement formulés dans les cinq serments prêtés par le récipiendiaire. London 1856. — 705 — contain all the degrees from the 3e to the 18e, and this last degree derives directly from the gnostic Rosicrucians, as its seal indicates, of which we give herewith the reproduction, taken from a very rare book, the Thuïleur des 33 degrés de l'Écossisme. 3° The practical and executive part of masonry is enclosed within the areopagi deriving directly from the Templars and comprising all the degrees from the 18° to the 30e exclusively (Knight Kadosh). 45 -3 — 706 — 4° Above these three divisions, and synthesizing them all, stands the administrative and hermetic part, derived from the alchemical current and comprising three degrees, the 81e, the 32°, and the 33e. The Ritual of the 32e degree and the seal of its members clearly show this lineage. 23.2e Degree. — Prince of the Royal Secret. This degree, the last of the Scottish, Ancient and Accepted Rite before the supreme degree, holds the executive power of the Rite and sums up its entire doctrine, so as to ensure its functioning1. The assembly of Masons of this degree is called the Consistory, and its characteristic feature is a central wooden structure, representing an encampment arranged as follows: a Saint Andrew's cross enveloped by a circle, surrounded by an equilateral triangle, inscribed within a pentagon, which bears circumscribed a heptagon, which is itself inscribed within a nonagon. The vertices of each of these polygons, as well as the center and the extremities of the Saint Andrew's cross, are supposed to mark the location of the tents where the Freemasons of the 5 —f— 3 — j— 5 — j— 7 — 9 = 29 degrees camp, camping separately according to the legend of the degree 2. This legend is the formation of a Masonic army composed of Masons of every degree, which undertakes a campaign to go and seize Jerusalem, and possess its Temple, and which camps while awaiting the final assault. This concentration of the Masonic army takes place when the signal, which is a cannon shot, is given by the chief who holds supreme command over it. The 1er cannon shot and the lre concentration took place when Luther placed himself at the head of the revolt of intelligence against Form. The 2e cannon shot and the 2° concentration took place when the affirmation that all human government holds its authority from the people, and from the people alone, occurred in America. The 3e cannon shot and the 3* concentration took place when the proclamation of the doctrine of Liberty, Equality and Fraternity took place in France. The 4e and the 5e cannon shot and the 4e and the 5f concentration have not yet taken place. At the 5e concentration will succeed the reign of the Holy Empire, that is to say the reign of Reason, of Truth and of Justice 1 2. The teachings of the degree are fully set forth in the five oaths sworn by the candidate.
