JAIors Marie dit : Me voici j y^

37. Thus in this year reported above, the angel Gabriel was sent from God the father to Nazareth, and came to a virgin poor, but chaste and modest, named Mary. Her German name signifies, in the language of nature, a deliverance from the valley of sorrow. (Although we are not at all begotten of the high schools of this world, nor possessor of several tongues, we have however the language of nature fixedly in our school of marvels, which the doctor in title does not believe.) He saluted her on the part of God, and brought her the commandment and the will of the eternal father, and said to her: Be blessed, full of grace, the lord is with you, you are blessed among women. (Luc. 1:18.) And when she perceived him, she took fright at his discourse, and said within herself: What is that salutation? And the angel said to her: Be not affrighted, Mary, you have found grace before God; see, you shall become with child in your body, and you shall beget a son. You must name him Jesus. He shall be great, and shall be called the son of the most high, and the lord God shall give him the seat of David, his father, and he shall be king eternally over the house of Jacob, and his kingdom shall have no end.

38. Then Mary said to the angel: How can that be, since I know not a man? and the angel answered her: The holy spirit shall come upon you, and the virtue of the most high shall overshadow you; that is why also the holy one, who shall be born of you, shall be named the son of God. Then Mary said: Behold me; I y^

AM the servant of the lord; be it done unto me according to your word; and the angel separated himself from her.

59. When then this order came from God the father, the nature of the spirit of the soul took fright in Mary, as the text announces it; for a precious guest touched it [ this spirit ] and this guest came in a marvellous sweetness.

4o, The reader must well understand here that the word for the incarnation, did not come here for the first time from the height of heaven, from above the stars down here, to become man, as the world publishes it in its blindness. No, but the word that God said to Adam and to Eve in paradise, upon the subject of the bruiser of the serpent, which represented itself in the gates of the light of life, this word which remains inwardly in the centre of the gates of heaven, and which waited manifestly in the affective base of the holy men until this epoch, it is this word that has become man. Now, this divine word entered anew into the sophia, or the divine wisdom; which divine sophia was placed like a light, in the soul of Adam, quite near the word, and was given to the word, as

a help.

41. The will of the heart of God, in the father, has borne itself from the heart into the will of the wisdom before the father, in an eternal marriage. Now, in the word of God, this same virgin of the caress of God, or SOPHIA, has bound herself in the bosom of the virgin Mary, in her virginal matrix, and has given herself in marriage, as in property, never

to separate; understand in the essences and in the tincture of the element, which, before God, is pure and without stain. In this element the heart of God has become an angelic man, such as Adam was in the creation: and this expansion of the heart of God with all the plenitude of the divinity ( from which the holy spirit proceeds; and from the spirit, the sophia ), renders this angelic image greater than Adam, or than ever an angel has been; for there is the benediction and the universal power, which exists in the father eternally.

42. For the word, by its entrance into the element, into the virginal matrix, is not at all separated from the father; but it abides eternally in the father, and it is present in all places in the heaven of the element, into which it entered, and in which it has become, in man, a new creature, which is called God. One must understand here profoundly and clearly that this new creature in the holy element, is not born of the blood and of the virginal flesh; but of God, of the element with the entire complement and the whole of the holy trinity; that it abides in this seat eternally, with all its plenitude, without variation; that everywhere, it fills all in all the thrones of holiness; that it has no bottom in its depth, and that it is without number and without name.

43. Nevertheless thou must know that the corporeity of the element of this creature is beneath God. For the divinity is spirit, and the holy element is

begotten of the word, eternally | now the master

is rendered servant, at which all the angels, in heaven, marvel, and it is the greatest marvel that has come to pass in eternity; for it is against nature, and may well be called love!
