Il agit encore dans le temps : les plans du grand conseil n’embrassent-ils pas le temps, comme toutes les régions ? Mais il vit par l’infini, & il veut vivre dans l’infini. Comment arrivera - t - il au complément de ce terme infini, sans passer par les trois alliances ? N’est - ce pas à l’alliance du feu vivant que doivent se réunir tous les principes ? Oui, c'étoit là l'esprit des sacrifices de la loi ancienne & de ces victimes consumées par le feu sur les autels. Thus the just man has taught me a greater wisdom: It is good to place God at the head of all thy works, because he will make thee float above the ills of this world, just as thy simple reason teaches thee to float above its illusions. The soul of the just is already freed from its earthly bonds; it is for this that it is struck as though bare and to the quick: men of matter can have no idea of its torments. Living actions, when you descend into him, you penetrate him with understanding, with wisdom, and with light, because you cannot come into him except accompanied by the deliberations of the grand council, and by the plans of the universal mover. He still acts within time: do not the plans of the grand council likewise embrace time, as do all the regions? But he lives by the infinite, and he wishes to live within the infinite.
