1The reasonable minors who were enclosed in the ark, and the time they remained there in privation of the elementary light, figure to us the retreat of the reconciled minors and of the just, under the shadows of the great light where they shall effectively repose a space of time in expectation, having no longer in them any temporal action to operate. Although these just beings are consoled in their afflictions and assured of their reintegration, that does not prevent their torments from being considerable at not being able to enjoy perfectly the sight of the consoling spirit that speaks to them. They feel, however, that all they undergo is just, in relation to the prevarication of the first man, and to the oath which the Creator made that neither the first man nor any of his posterity should be reintegrated into the divine circle before the great combat that must be delivered, by the true Adam or Reaux, between the earth and the heavens, for the greater advantage of the minors. The place where the just repose, in expectation, is named philosophically the rational circle or the saturnine circle. It alone serves as footstool to the supercelestial circles, and it is this that the Scripture fixes as the place of repose of the Holy Fathers reconciled to the Creator. This is what teaches us that it does not suffice, for the reintegration of the reconciled beings, that they act and
2operate in the sensible terrestrial circle. It is of absolute necessity that they act spiritually in all the spaces of the universal circle, until they have finished the course which the Creator has fixed to the minors in emanating them from himself and in emancipating them from his divine immensity. Such is the second type made by the reasonable animals who were enclosed in the ark, and who were saved from the scourge of the divine justice according to their good temporal spiritual works. Noah, which means repose or relief, operated on coming out of the ark a divine worship, every ten days, which reckons the forty days during which Noah remained upon mount Ararat. This worship was the true figure of that which the divine man should operate for the reconciliation of the first minor, so that the universal creation should not change form, as Adam had changed body. It was by this worship of the divine man, or Christ, that the Creator blessed again the universal creation, in blessing again Adam whom he had cursed as principal chief of every created being and as divine man of the earth; and it is this that Noah truly repeated. He interceded, by his invocation, with the divine mercy of the Creator, that he might reconcile the earth with the rest of the inhabitants who had found grace before him.
3Noah obtained the grace he asked, and the earth was reconciled with men, being restored at the end of forty years to its first principle of vegetative life. "Yes, Eternal," said Noah to the Creator, "the unfortunate men whom thou hast confided to my conduct, under thy protection, are clearly instructed that thou canst change in an instant, if it please thee, the face of the universal creation, as thou hast just changed that of the earth in reducing it to nothingness. Yes, almighty Creator, thy justice is perfect and renowned as such by every spiritual creature, both celestial and terrestrial. The most just spirit before thee cannot bear the light without trembling; and how should the feeble mortals of this valley of tears render themselves worthy of their divine reintegration without the succour of thy grace! O quickening Creator, quicken the general body upon which thy creature must operate thy divine worship, and which we regard as the general receptacle or the universal altar upon which must be offered the pacific holocaust of reconciliation.""
