Ceci nous est figuré réellement par ce qui a été enseigné précédemment, que la forme corporelle humaine était l'organe de l'âme du mineur, et l’on ne peut mieux concevoir les facultés et le pouvoir de ces agents septénaires sur les êtres corporels, que par les différentes opérations que les mineurs mêmes produisent par leurs actions sur leurs propres formes, et qui se passent aux yeux de leurs semblables. Voilà qu'elle est la vertu et la faculté puissante du nombre septénaire, son émanation du nombre dénaire, et l'emploi que le Créateur en a fait pour l'émancipation des esprits formés à sa ressemblance; et ce nombre est la seconde puissance de la Divinité.
2La troisième puissance divine où le nombre sénaire est également émané du fameux nombre dénaire. Ce nombre sénaire n’est pas aussi parfait ni aussi puissant en vertu spirituelle que le nombre septénaire, et cela parce que le nombre sénaire peut se diviser en deux parties égales ou deux fois trois, ce qui ne se peut pas faire sur le nombre septénaire sans le détruire et le dénaturer. Le Créateur est un pur esprit supérieur au temps et à la durée successive, mais il peut avoir opéré six pensées divines pour la création universelle, et ce nombre six appartient effectivement à la création de toute forme de matière apparente. Par ce même nombre, le Créateur fait sentir à sa créature, tant spirituelle que temporelle, la durée de temps que doit subsister la création universelle. Voilà quels sont la vertu du nombre sénaire et l'emploi que le Créateur en a fait. C'est par là que les sages ont acquis la connaissance du principe des formes et des bornes que le Créateur a mis à la durée de leur cours; c'est encore là que nous apprenons que tout être corporel se réintégrera dans son premier principe d'émanation par le même nombre qui l’a produit. 1uncreated fire, would never produce anything in the corporeal forms if it were not reacted upon by a principal and superior cause which operates it and renders it fit for the movement and the maintenance of those same forms. This superior cause, as we see, is nothing else than those septenary divine spiritual agents, who preside as chiefs over the different actions and the different movements of all the bodies which they cause to operate their thoughts and their will according as they have conceived them. This is really figured to us by what has been taught previously, that the human corporeal form was the organ of the soul of the minor; and one cannot better conceive the faculties and the power of these septenary agents over corporeal beings than by the different operations which the minors themselves produce by their actions upon their own forms, and which pass before the eyes of their fellows. Such is the virtue and the powerful faculty of the septenary number, its emanation from the denary number, and the employment the Creator has made of it for the emancipation of the spirits formed in his likeness; and this number is the second power of the Divinity.
2The third divine power, wherein the senary number is likewise emanated from the famous denary number. This senary number is neither so perfect nor so powerful in spiritual virtue as the septenary number, and this because the senary number can divide itself into two equal parts, or twice three, which cannot be done upon the septenary number without destroying it and denaturing it. The senary number is that by which the Creator drew forth from his thought all the
3species of images of apparent corporeal forms that subsist in the universal circle. Does not Genesis teach that God created all in six days? It must not be believed thereby that Genesis wished to bound the power of the Divinity in limiting a time to it, whether of six days or of six years. The Creator is a pure spirit superior to time and to successive duration, but he may have operated six divine thoughts for the universal creation, and this number six belongs effectively to the creation of every form of apparent matter. By this same number the Creator makes his creature, both spiritual and temporal, feel the duration of time that the universal creation must subsist. Such are the virtue of the senary number and the employment the Creator has made of it. It is thereby that the sages have acquired the knowledge of the principle of forms and of the bounds the Creator has set to the duration of their course; it is there again that we learn that every corporeal being shall be reintegrated into its first principle of emanation by the same number that produced it. Let us come to the quaternary number, or to the fourth power of the Creator.
