1of the first minor, who is nothing else than a pure spirit. I shall now instruct thee in the properties of the four doors of the tabernacle of the embodied minor, whereof I have spoken to thee above and which I have proved to thee to be superior to those of the tabernacle of Bezaleel. The first of these doors, or eastern door, according as I have had thee observe, is the heart of the body of man; it is by that same superior door that the spirit of passive life enters into the tabernacle of the minor to dispose him to receive and to bear all the effects of all the divine spiritual operations that must be made therein conjointly with the minor. It is by that same door that there penetrate into man the most sublime spirits, both good and evil; and, when they have disposed the tabernacle suitably, according to their laws, the minor joins himself to them to operate his will, good or evil, conformably to his liberty. The spirits susceptible of divine operations with the minor are all those who inhabit from the supercelestial world to the extremity of all the temporal worlds. Thou seest thereby what is the infinite multitude of spiritual communications, whether good or evil, which the minor can receive by the eastern door of his corporeal tabernacle. Yes, Israel, it is in the heart of the minor that all is operated for or against the good of the minor.
2the tabernacle of Bezaleel. They are the organs of the principal functions of the minor, namely: the eye is the organ of conviction; the ear that of conception; and the mouth that of the powerful word of man. These three last doors, joined to the first, teach thee to distinguish the four different operations which the minor can effect, by his power, upon the supercelestial world, the terrestrial world and the universal world. Thou canst conceive the same thing touching the tabernacle of Bezaleel, which is the true figure of these four worlds; for each of the worlds being itself a particular tabernacle, they must each have their particular divine spiritual operations; and this is what the four different doors of the tabernacle of Bezaleel represent to thee. If thou askest me what is the key of these doors, I shall answer thee that there is no other than the spirit that watches at each of them, which alone can open or close them for or against the advantage of the minor. But if the minor cannot himself open these doors, he can have them opened and closed when it pleases him. It belongs to the minor of good spiritual desire to be true possessor of that famous key, and thereby to become depositary of the spiritual good and doorkeeper of the spirits prevaricating against the Divinity. Thou seest what is the superiority of the tabernacle of the minor over that which I have caused to be constructed in thy presence. And so it was the first constructed, and nothing can prevail against it if the minor gives not his consent to it. This tabernacle, in fine, is the real type of the world, because it contains in its small extent all that the great world contains in its immense space. The
3tabernacle of the minor is incomparably above the particular tabernacles, because that of man encloses four things, and the others contain but three. These three things which the inferior particular tabernacles contain are: the law, ceremonial of the divine worship, the precept and the operation; but besides these three things, the tabernacle of the minor encloses a fourth, which is the divine spiritual power. Such is the allusion of the tabernacle of Bezaleel and that of man, and why the latter is so superior to all the others — which shall be still more amply explained in its time, according to the will of the Creator.
