1Even as I communicated to Bezaleel the orders of the Creator for the construction of the tabernacle, so the Creator communicated directly to the inferior spirits the law of creation of the spirituous essences; even as I gave Bezaleel the plan of his work, so the superior spirits received, by a superior deputy, the image of the apparent form of the universe; even as, in fine, Bezaleel, after having received the order to construct the tabernacle, as well as the plan he was to give it, found without difficulty all the necessary materials wherewith he constructed the tabernacle; so likewise the inferior spirits, having received the order of the Creator for the construction of the universe, as well as the image of the apparent form it was to have, produced of themselves the three fundamental essences of all bodies wherewith they formed the universal time. I have therefore made in this operation the type of the Creator and that of the major spirit, and Bezaleel has made that of the inferior spirit who has in his power the construction of forms. It is for this that Bezaleel is called great workman before the Eternal. The incorruptible matter whereof this tabernacle is composed is the true type of the minor spirits who contribute to the maintenance and to the support of the universe; and this tabernacle is incorruptible because it is, like the universe, sustained and maintained by purely spiritual beings. It is by this that these two temples shall subsist until the end of times. Endeavour, Israel, to render likewise incorruptible thy particular form, leaving it under the direction and the power of those same spiritual beings who shall preserve it in all the purity of its laws during the duration of the course fixed for it. Thou conceivest doubtless that the three subjects who laboured at the construction of the tabernacle, namely Bezaleel and his two associates, make a true allusion to the ternary number that constitutes the powerful faculty of the inferior spirits, producers of the three spirituous essences whence all the corporeal forms have proceeded.
2Such, Israel, are the important figures thou mayest discover in all that concerns the tabernacle which has been constructed before thine eyes. Above all things, forget not that this tabernacle is, as I have told thee, the image of the corporeal form of the minor. See indeed whether the tabernacle of the minor has not had in it four doors which are figured in the tabernacle of Bezaleel, and whether there is not a perfect relation between the one and the other. The door of the east of the tabernacle of Bezaleel, whereby I enter to invoke the inhabitants of the supercelestial, represents the heart of man; it is by the heart that the minor receives the greatest satisfactions as well as the greatest favours which the Creator sends him directly by the inhabitants of the supercelestial. The door of the West of the tabernacle of Bezaleel relates to the second door of the body of the minor, which is the eye. The door of the South alludes
3to the ear; but despite the relations that are found between the four doors of these two different tabernacles, it must not be believed that they are equal in virtues and in properties. No, Israel, the tabernacle of Bezaleel is but a type of that of the minor; and it is in the tabernacle of the minor that the Creator has attached all His affection. Thus it is not astonishing that it should be superior in power to that of Bezaleel, which indeed encloses the divine law which the Creator has confided a second time to his servant Moses; but does that sacred law not exist in nature in the tabernacle of the minor? Neither believe, Israel, that the tabernacle of Bezaleel makes any allusion to the tabernacle of Adam, our first father, when he was in his state of glory. Thou knowest that Adam, in that state, was a purely spiritual being, and that he was subjected to no form of matter, because no pure spirit can be enclosed in a body of matter, save those who have prevaricated. Thou knowest moreover that Adam had the faculty of constructing his glorious corporeal form, of dissipating it, of changing it at his pleasure and according to the actions he had to operate conformably to the orders he received from the Creator. Thus, since that form existed, it could not be considered as the tabernacle of the divine law innate in the first minor; and it was this first minor himself who, as pure spirit, was the true tabernacle of the divine law he had received, whether at his emanation or at his emancipation. See then thereby, Israel, the impossibility there is that a tabernacle of gross matter, such as that of Bezaleel, should allude to the spiritual tabernacle
