1Par la prévarication des premiers esprits, le temps et l'univers furent créés; alors, les habitants des différentes classes de l'immensité furent employés à contribuer à l'entretien et à la durée fixe de l'univers. Mais, par la prévarication de l’homme, ces mêmes esprits furent assujettis à contribuer à la réconciliation et à la purification des mineurs, pour laquelle réconciliation ces mineurs actionnent sur l'âme spirituelle des hommes et sur d’autres êtres spirituels que tu connaîtras par la suite. C'est par ces deux sortes d'actions que les esprits divins sont employés en partie en faveur du temporel, quoique cependant ils ne soient point assujettis au temps. Oui, Israël, je te le répète, sans la prévarication de l’homme, les esprits divins n'auraient été assujettis que d'une seule manière au temporel; mais sans la prévarication, des premiers esprits, ils ne l'auraient pas été du tout. Sans cette première prévarication, aucun changement ne serait survenu à la création spirituelle; il n’y aurait eu aucune émancipation d'esprits hors de l’immensité; il n'y aurait eu aucune création de borne divine, soit surcéleste, soit céleste, soit terrestre, ni d'esprits envoyés pour actionner dans les différentes parties de la création. Tu ne peux douter de tout ceci, puisque les esprits mineurs ternaires n'auraient jamais quitté

Par conséquent, Israël, les mineurs hommes n'auraient jamais été possesseurs de cette place, et n'auraient pas été émanés dans leur première demeure, ou, s'il avait plu au Créateur de les émaner de Son sein, ils n'auraient jamais reçu toutes les actions et les facultés puissantes dont ils ont été revêtus de préférence à tout être spirituel divin émané avant eux.
3Pour te convaincre que la faculté et la puissance de l’homme sont telles que je te le dis, souvienstoi, Israël, que le mineur fut nommé par l'Éternel : homme-Dieu et commandeur de tout être spirituel et temporel; souviens-toi que l'Éternel avait mis sans réserve dans l’homme toute Sa complaisance, toute Son affection, qu'Il l'avait revêtu de toute la puissance spirituelle divine, comme étant l'acte de la quatriple essence de la Divinité. Aussi tu vois par la figure qu'il est mis en aspect du cercle supérieur dénaire au centre duquel correspond la Divinité. C’est ce qui te prouve que la puissance du premier mineur était bien plus considérable que celle des autres mineurs qui habitent dans les différents corps planétaires et dans le corps général terrestre. Observe, en effet, les différents emplacements des corps qui forment la figure universelle, dans laquelle toute la nature spirituelle, majeure, mineure et inférieure opère. 1By the prevarication of the first spirits, time and the universe were created; then the inhabitants of the different classes of the immensity were employed to contribute to the maintenance and to the fixed duration of the universe. But, by the prevarication of man, those same spirits were subjected to contribute to the reconciliation and to the purification of the minors, for which reconciliation these minors act upon the spiritual soul of men and upon other spiritual beings whom thou shalt know hereafter. It is by these two sorts of actions that the divine spirits are employed in part in favour of the temporal, although nevertheless they are not subjected to time. Yes, Israel, I repeat it to thee, without the prevarication of man, the divine spirits would have been subjected only in a single manner to the temporal; but without the prevarication of the first spirits, they would not have been so at all. Without that first prevarication, no change would have come upon the spiritual creation; there would have been no emancipation of spirits out of the immensity; there would have been no creation of divine bound, whether supercelestial, or celestial, or terrestrial, nor of spirits sent to act in the different parts of the creation. Thou canst not doubt all this, since the ternary minor spirits would never have quitted
2the place they occupied in the divine immensity, to operate the formation of a material universe. Consequently, Israel, the minor men would never have been possessors of that place, and would not have been emanated into their first dwelling; or, had it pleased the Creator to emanate them from His bosom, they would never have received all the actions and the powerful faculties wherewith they have been clothed in preference to every divine spiritual being emanated before them.
3To convince thee that the faculty and the power of man are such as I tell thee, remember, Israel, that the minor was named by the Eternal: man-God and commander of every spiritual and temporal being; remember that the Eternal had placed without reserve in man all His complacency, all His affection, that He had clothed him with all divine spiritual power, as being the act of the fourfold essence of the Divinity. And so thou seest by the figure that he is set facing the superior denary circle, at the centre of which the Divinity corresponds. This is what proves to thee that the power of the first minor was far more considerable than that of the other minors who inhabit the different planetary bodies and the general terrestrial body. Observe, indeed, the different placings of the bodies that form the universal figure, wherein all spiritual nature, major, minor and inferior, operates. Thou seest in truth that, in the celestial world, as in the terrestrial world, the minor circle faces its superior; but none of them is immediately facing the denary circle, of the supercelestial; and it is only to man, or to the divine spiritual minor, that
