These three daily practices each name a breath, and the Book gives every type a fuller one in its breath protocols ("Constitutional Adaptations: Personalizing Your Practice", in Chapter 6 of the reader). There the Electric type's Grounding Breath is 4-4-8-2: four counts in, a hold of four, eight out and a pause of two, so its exhale is longer than the four in and six out printed here. The Magnetic type's Activation Breath is 6-4-6-2; rapid breathing of the kind kapalabhati names here appears in that chapter only in the advanced Activation Series, as its bellows and fire breaths. The Neutral type's Balance Breath is 4-4-6-2, breathed with cooling through the curled tongue or pursed lips; equal-count breathing returns there only inside the advanced Balance Series. The Press teaches those three patterns, 4-4-8-2, 6-4-6-2 and 4-4-6-2 with cooling, as the constitutional breath, and keeps the lines printed here as the assessment gave them.
