3El Venerable Maestro Papus fundó y dirigió en París la Revista “LA INICIACIÓN” que llegó a tener cien páginas de texto en sus números mensuales.
4No hemos llegado a eso todavía, pero llegaremos, apoyándonos en tres factores seguros, que, en el orden ascendente, son los siguientes: Nuestra inquebrantable voluntad de servir.

8Iniciada ocho meses atrás, en forma modestísima, mimeografiada y con un tiraje medio de 250 ejemplares, “LA INICIACIÓN” empieza con este número su segundo año de vida (1943) duplicando su tiraje y casi el número de sus páginas, presentándose al mismo tiempo, desde ahora, impresa.
9No es un “salto”; es un crecimiento sano, natural, lógico fruto del esfuerzo nuestro, de la cooperación de muchos, de la protección ya citada.
10Que nos sea permitido realizar cada vez más y mejor para que todo se asemeje progresivamente a la acción del Grupo Independiente de Estudios Esotéricos fundado por Papus, y a cuya imagen y semejanza fue fundado el nuestro; son los votos que formula la Redacción en esta fecha y es para esa finalidad que reitera su pedido de Difusión, Colaboración y Abonos a todos sus Amigos, así como a los Iniciados de todas las Órdenes Iniciáticas o de divulgación, en las que reine la Tolerancia y la Fraternidad, y parea las cuales las páginas de “LA INICIACIÓN” permanecen como siempre abiertas, como abiertos están nuestros corazones hacia aquellos que aceptan, difunden y practican la Suprema Palabra Sagrada: “AMAOS LOS UNOS A LOS OTROS” – AMÉN et AUM.
11Orden Kabalística de la Rosa Cruz El Venerable Maestro marqués STANISLAS DE GUAITA, junto con PAPUS, BARLET, PELADAN y otros que irán conociendo los estudiosos en los artículos que iremos publicando sobre esta Muy Venerable Orden, fundaron la ORDEN KABALÍSTICA DE LA ROSA CRUZ, en las postrimerías del siglo pasado en París.

8Begun eight months ago in the most modest fashion, mimeographed and with an average print run of 250 copies, “LA INICIACIÓN” opens with this number its second year of life (1943), doubling its print run and almost the number of its pages, and presenting itself at the same time, from now on, in print.
9It is not a “leap”; it is a healthy, natural, logical growth — the fruit of our own effort, of the co-operation of many, and of the protection already mentioned.
10That we may be permitted to accomplish more and better, so that everything may come progressively to resemble the action of the Independent Group of Esoteric Studies founded by Papus — in whose image and likeness our own was founded — are the wishes the Editors express on this date; and it is to that end that they repeat their request for Diffusion, Collaboration and Subscriptions to all their Friends, as well as to the Initiates of all Initiatic Orders or Orders of popularisation in which Tolerance and Fraternity reign, and to which the pages of “LA INICIACIÓN” remain open as always, as our hearts are open toward those who accept, spread and practise the Supreme Sacred Word: “LOVE ONE ANOTHER” — AMEN et AUM.
11The Kabbalistic Order of the Rose-Cross — The Venerable Master the Marquis STANISLAS DE GUAITA, together with PAPUS, BARLET, PÉLADAN and others whom students will come to know in the articles we shall publish on this Most Venerable Order, founded the KABBALISTIC ORDER OF THE ROSE-CROSS in Paris at the close of the last century.

The second year opens by naming the model outright: Papus founded and directed L'Initiation in Paris, and it ran to a hundred pages a number. The Press now holds that review complete — 284 issues, 1888 to 1912 — so the comparison the editors draw can be checked. Their own first year was mimeographed at 250 copies; the Paris parent was a printed monthly of a hundred pages. The ambition is stated as a measurement, not a boast.
"In whose image and likeness our own was founded." This is the plainest statement of descent in the whole run: the Montevideo body is a deliberate refounding of Papus's Groupe Indépendant d'Études Ésotériques, publishing a review of the same name. Nº 6 p. 4 had named him as founder of both; here the magazine says what it is.
A precise piece of publishing history: eight months mimeographed at an average run of 250 copies, and from this number printed, with the run doubled and the page count nearly so. The change in the object itself is visible in the source — the earlier issues are retypes because no printed original survives to photograph.
The four founders named — Guaita, Papus, Barlet, Péladan — were the actual founders of the Kabbalistic Order of the Rose-Cross in Paris in 1888. The Press now holds three of the four: Papus's two treatises, *Guaita's Le Serpent de la Genèse (1891) and Péladan's Istar (1888), both acquired for this issue. Only Barlet is still missing — and Istar is itself listed in the sommaire of L'Initiation*'s very first number, October 1888.
