THE POST-WAR RELATIONSHIP APPLICATIONS

This comprehensive instruction provides essential methodology for:

Energy Transformation: Understanding systematic approaches to sexual energy redirection for spiritual development and physical vitality rather than suppression or indulgence

Kundalini Development: Learning safe and systematic approaches to fundamental energy awakening through physical practice integrated with mental focus and breathing control

Age Reversal: Understanding principles of biological rejuvenation through systematic yoga practice enabling extended productive life and maintained attractiveness

Marriage Preservation: Learning comprehensive approaches to maintaining physical attractiveness, emotional connection, and spiritual development for long-term relationship success

Family Spirituality: Understanding systematic approaches to family life as spiritual practice rather than obstacle to spiritual development

Prevention Systems: Learning systematic approaches to maintaining health, beauty, and vitality through consistent practice rather than remedial intervention or crisis management

This comprehensive yoga instruction demonstrates how authentic physical-spiritual practices serve complete human flourishing including individual vitality, relationship harmony, family spirituality, and collective social welfare—exactly the kind of integrated development needed for post-war reconstruction requiring both individual optimization and social relationship renewal through systematic rather than fragmentary approaches to human development and spiritual practice.

Transcendent Psychology: The Matter-Spirit Synthesis

Hermetic Foundation and Metaphysical Resolution of Scientific Materialism

Teaching of WRONSKY, A.M.

THE MATERIALIST DEFINITION PROBLEM

It is curious to observe that positivist philosophy—fundamental base of materialism—upon affirming that the only reality is matter and that nothing exists or exists outside of it, forgets to give us a precise and unassailable definition of what is, "in truth," such matter.

It will perhaps be said to me that my judgment is somewhat adventurous, since it would suffice to appeal to any physics treatise to find a rigorous definition of the term. Well, we confess loyally that the definitions contained in the works we know do not seem to us, at least, coincident... And if not, let the reader judge for himself.

THE CONTRADICTORY DEFINITIONS OF MATTER

Eight Major Scientific Definitions

CARO & ANCHIA: "Matter is all that which affects our sense of touch"

LAVOISIER: "...what extends in space and persists in time... ultimate and essential reality"

THE CONTRADICTORY DEFINITIONS OF MATTER

Eight Major Scientific Definitions

CARO & ANCHIA: "Matter is all that which affects our sense of touch"

LAVOISIER: "...what extends in space and persists in time... ultimate and essential reality"

LE BON: "...the substratum of worlds and of beings that live on their surface... is not eternal and can disappear forever"

C. G. DARWIN: "...the constructive material of the world"

SULLIVAN: "...the foundation of the world"

EDDINGTON: "...the force fields of space"

PUIG: "...the substance endowed with inertia and extension." "...different from spiritual substance"

EINSTEIN: "...a form of energy"

The Four Contradictory Classifications

As we see, there are here four different definitions:

  1. Matter is the ultimate reality of the world
  2. It is opposed to spirit
  3. It is eternal
  4. It is temporal

But it occurs to us that none of the four reaches the very essence of the term.

THE FUNDAMENTAL QUESTION

In other words: What is matter? Is it that which our senses perceive or is it that which our senses do not perceive? In the first case we would have the solution preconized by the "sensualists," in the second that of the "objectivists." But, in both cases it can be affirmed that the intrinsic essence of what is pretended to be reached escapes all experimental verification.

Nevertheless (and in this all materialist philosophers are in accord) matter must explain the world, since it is the substructure of its reality.

THE REALITY PROBLEM

However, the reality of the world can be discussed. Many philosophers, especially those of the middle ages, discoursed on the particular. Some, the "Idealists," sustain that the only real things are our sensations. According to this point of view matter does not exist as such, but insofar as it represents our sensations, which are its sufficient and necessary cause.

The Idealist Position

In other words: what we perceive and what we recognize of the world are the representations that we form of it. Then, the world is a projection, an image of our mind, toward which it returns by intermediary of our sensory organs. There is here, then, a petition of principle perfectly clear: knowledge is anterior to all experience; this is "a priori"; in consequence, the subject-object duality is reduced to a single term; the subject, who is the one who "imagines" the world and perceives it according to the a priori conditions of knowing.

The Billiard Ball Example

The Billiard Ball Example

According to this the billiard ball that I imprison at this moment between my hands would be nothing other than a complex of particular sensations connoting the qualities of extension, hardness, temperature, relief, etc., that exist in my mind before all experience and that are reflected in what I call billiard ball.

THE REALIST COUNTER-POSITION

Other philosophers, known as "realists" and also "empiricists," oppose this doctrine saying that matter is independent of our sensations; that these depend on that, and that there could not be sensation there where the (material) cause was lacking.

That is, there would really exist a heavy body, a conducting metal, a phosphorescent surface, etc., our sensations depending on those absolute properties of matter.

THE PHENOMENALIST INTERMEDIATE POSITION

The "phenomenalists" embody the physiological doctrine that we could call intermediate. According to them there exists, in truth, a "thing in itself," essence of the world—unknowable for the subject of knowledge—the phenomenon being nothing but, that is, the observation of the thing in itself, the only apprehensible and cognoscible for that one.

The perception of the phenomenon would also depend on "a priori" data: space, time, causality (something like the triple root of knowing).

THE SYNTHETIC UNDERSTANDING

Now well, studying the different metaphysical systems that condition the exposed postulates, we obtain as definitive premise that matter is known to us by its phenomenal aspects, but not in its intimate and real essence.

In consequence, it represents a postulate of science over which has been raised the dogma of its ultimate structure.

The Crucial Observation

Let us note in passing an important observation. The materialists ask of religion: "Show us God"; religion responds: "Show us matter." And, as is logical, it has been demonstrated that neither this one nor that one can be apprehended by what we are accustomed to call "experimental proof."

THE METAPHYSICAL TRANSCENDENCE

Nevertheless, if we meditate a little on it, we will not delay in discovering that "experimental proof" pretends to interfere in a metaphysical sphere that escapes its natural resources.

More, if it treats of a metaphysical sphere, are we not postulating the idea that Spirit and Matter are the complementary terms of an essence or transcendent principle that surpasses the limit of human knowledge?

In consequence, the demonstration of any one of the terms that compose the considered binomial, will reach the very essence of the world that, as we see, can be denominated—according to the point of view we adopt—as God or Matter (understanding by God, the Spirit).

THE KABBALISTIC AUTHORITY

THE KABBALISTIC AUTHORITY

In a question of such great importance, it seems useless to us to emphasize that our own criterion would lack value. We support ourselves, therefore, in the authority of a metaphysical, religious and initiatic creed that is lost in the night of time, according to what the commentators of the Kabbalah affirm to us.

Of course this demonstration will take us to a terrain in which profane Psychology cannot follow us. But, according to the feeling of Transcendent Psychology, there is no inconvenience whatsoever in recurring to the ultimate principles of metaphysics and even of theodicy to found the dogma that must explain, in ultimate analysis, the constitution and essence of the universe and of man (which is, according to these authors, the constitution and essence of spirit, that is, of God).

THE DEEPER SIGNIFICANCE FOR PSYCHOLOGICAL SYNTHESIS

This systematic philosophical analysis appears in March 1943 precisely when understanding the relationship between scientific and spiritual approaches to reality becomes essential for post-war intellectual reconstruction. The detailed examination demonstrates how authentic psychology must transcend the artificial opposition between materialist and idealist approaches through understanding their common metaphysical foundation.

The Definition Crisis Recognition

Scientific Contradiction Exposure: The systematic documentation of eight contradictory scientific definitions of matter—from Caro & Anchia's sensory definition through Einstein's energy formulation—demonstrates how even fundamental scientific concepts lack consistent definition among authorities. This provides understanding of why purely scientific approaches cannot provide complete explanatory systems for psychological or spiritual investigation.

The Perception Problem Analysis

Sensualist vs. Objectivist Dilemma: The systematic recognition that matter must be either what senses perceive or what senses do not perceive while acknowledging that "the intrinsic essence escapes all experimental verification" demonstrates the fundamental limitations of purely empirical approaches to understanding reality.

The Three Philosophical Positions

Comprehensive System Analysis: The systematic examination of Idealist (only sensations are real), Realist (matter is independent of sensations), and Phenomenalist (unknowable "thing in itself" known only through phenomena) demonstrates how all major philosophical approaches to the matter-spirit problem contain both insights and limitations requiring synthetic resolution.

The Experimental Proof Limitation

The Experimental Proof Limitation

Mutual Criticism Recognition: The crucial observation that "materialists ask of religion: 'Show us God'; religion responds: 'Show us matter'" while "it has been demonstrated that neither can be apprehended by experimental proof" demonstrates how both scientific materialism and conventional religion operate with unproven fundamental assumptions.

The Metaphysical Transcendence Solution

Complementary Terms Understanding: The systematic recognition that Spirit and Matter may be "complementary terms of an essence or transcendent principle that surpasses the limit of human knowledge" provides methodology for resolving the artificial opposition between scientific and spiritual approaches through understanding their common metaphysical foundation.

The Kabbalistic Foundation

Traditional Authority Integration: The systematic appeal to "the authority of a metaphysical, religious and initiatic creed that is lost in the night of time" as documented by Kabbalah commentators demonstrates how authentic psychology can integrate traditional wisdom with contemporary analysis without compromising either rational competence or spiritual understanding.

The Transcendent Psychology Declaration

Ultimate Principles Access: The systematic declaration that Transcendent Psychology has "no inconvenience whatsoever in recurring to the ultimate principles of metaphysics and even of theodicy" to explain "the constitution and essence of the universe and of man" demonstrates how authentic psychological investigation transcends both purely scientific and purely religious limitations through accessing fundamental principles.

THE POST-WAR INTELLECTUAL APPLICATIONS

This systematic analysis provides essential methodology for:

Scientific Limitation Recognition: Understanding the contradictions and limitations within purely scientific approaches to fundamental questions while maintaining scientific competence and rational analysis

Philosophical Integration: Learning systematic approaches to coordinating different philosophical systems through recognizing their partial truths and common limitations rather than adopting sectarian positions

Metaphysical Foundation: Understanding how both scientific and religious approaches require metaphysical foundations that transcend purely empirical or purely traditional validation

Traditional-Contemporary Synthesis: Learning methodology for integrating traditional wisdom with contemporary analysis through understanding fundamental principles rather than surface contradictions

Experimental Proof Transcendence: Understanding systematic approaches to investigation that transcend purely empirical limitations while maintaining rational competence and practical effectiveness

Essence vs. Phenomenon Distinction: Learning to distinguish between essential understanding and phenomenal investigation enabling appropriate methodological approaches to different types of questions

This profound philosophical analysis demonstrates how authentic psychology must transcend artificial oppositions between scientific and spiritual approaches through understanding fundamental metaphysical principles—exactly the kind of intellectual synthesis needed for post-war reconstruction requiring both rational competence and spiritual understanding through systematic rather than sectarian approaches to knowledge and investigation.

A Great Martinist Initiate: Honoré de Balzac

Literary Evidence of Profound Esoteric Knowledge and Traditional Transmission

Teaching of PITÁGORAS, S.I.

THE UNDENIABLE EVIDENCE

That Honoré de Balzac possessed profound esoteric knowledge is a fact that has called the attention of everyone and that is absolutely not possible to doubt.

Indeed, in many of his works, such as for example "Ursule Mirodet," "La peau de chagrin," "La recherche de l'Absolu" and "Les Proscrits," Balzac has clearly manifested that he possesses esoteric knowledge, not superficial and panoramic, as could be that of any generally cultured person, but profound and meticulous, as can only be obtained in some secret societies, whose reason for being is exclusively the deepened study and practice of esoteric doctrine.

It results, consequently, very clear, for the one who knows and can understand the marvelous doctrine exposed in his works and, at the same time, interpret all that Balzac does not write, but that he lets be glimpsed in his expression, that the esoteric culture of the great French writer is too profound and meticulous for it to be supposed he could have obtained it from the reading of books or other publications, and that this culture is not the result of a transitory curiosity but, on the contrary, the fruit of long and profound studies realized in a secret spiritualist environment and unique possessor of determined transcendental knowledge.

THE FUNDAMENTAL QUESTION

What could be this spiritualist environment in which Balzac lived and where could he have known that one or those who taught him the sacred doctrine?

There do not exist original and authentic documents that can, in their explicit and categorical redaction, illuminate every shadow, every doubt; but we possess a series of relative proofs that, isolated considered, could have scant value, and that nevertheless, by being all of them concordant, do not permit us to doubt anymore of Balzac's Martinist initiation.

THE SAINT MARTIN CONNECTION

The Categorical Affirmation

THE SAINT MARTIN CONNECTION

The Categorical Affirmation

In "Louis Lambert," Balzac writes:

"In this epoch, Saint Martin, Gence and some other French writers, half German, were almost the only persons who, in the French empire, knew the name of Swedenborg."

How can Balzac make such a categorical affirmation, if he had not had the possibility of knowing those successors of Saint Martin, Gence, etc., who could be the only ones capable of informing him?

And, on the other hand, if those persons had been the only ones of the epoch to know Swedenborg's name, does this not demonstrate their close relations, at least cultural and spiritual, with the great Swedish illuminator?

The "Half German" Reference

Finally, the allusion to some French writers "half German"—is this not referring to all those Martinists whose names he knew, whom he did not wish to name and who eventually could be Rudolf Salzman, Trompowski, Heisch, Jean Tüerkheim, etc., all "half German" because they were all from Strasbourg?

THE DEFINITIVE MARTINIST EVIDENCE

The "Les Proscrits" Declaration

But where Balzac clearly indicates his Martinist filiation is in "Les Proscrits," where he writes:

"Mystical theology embraced the ensemble of revelations and the explanation of mysteries. This branch of ancient theology has remained secretly honored among us. Jacob Boehme, Swedenborg, Martines de Pasqually, Saint Martin, Molinos, Madame Guyon, Bourignon and Krudener, the great sect of the Estatics, of the Illuminated, in different epochs have conserved worthily the doctrines of this science, whose finality has something terrifying and gigantic. Today, as in other times, it treats of giving man wings to penetrate into the sanctuary where God hides from our gazes."

The Mystical Theology Recognition

Let us note, first of all, that Balzac speaks to us of "mystical theology" that "embraced the ensemble of revelations and the explanation of mysteries," that is, not of an esoteric doctrine, presented as in various other esoteric organizations of the epoch, in the most different aspects and in different forms, but of a "mystical theology," that is, of that same doctrine presented "mystically"; and mysticism is, as we know, the predominant characteristic of Martinism in the second half of the 18th century, characteristic due to the profound influence of Saint Martin in the Chapters of the Élus Cohens, founded, as is known, by Martines de Pasqually.

The Kabbalistic Construction Understanding

Moreover, Balzac knew perfectly the Kabbalistic construction of this "mystical theology" exactly as it was taught in Martinism, because he adds: "embraced the ensemble of revelations and the explanation of mysteries." Indeed, only the Kabbalah is that which can "embrace the ensemble of revelations" and "explain the mysteries."

THE SECRET TRANSMISSION ACKNOWLEDGMENT

On the other hand, Balzac categorically affirms that "this branch of ancient theology has remained secretly honored among us."

"Ancient theology," because it is that which, in all times and in all peoples, has been taught in all initiatic communities, "and has remained secretly honored," because only in secret can such a transcendent doctrine be transmitted among the initiates of secret societies and "among us."

Who Were These "Us"?

Who were these "us"? Balzac does not say it. One could think that with the very word "us" he wanted to allude to spiritualist environments in general, but also, one could believe, as I believe it, that Balzac wanted to refer to the intimate circle of initiates of which he formed part.

THE SYSTEMATIC MARTINIST IDENTIFICATION

The Complete Lineage Documentation

What was this circle of initiates? Balzac does not tell us clearly that it was that which the Martinists constituted, but he tells us that "the doctrines of this science, in different epochs, have been conserved worthily" by Jacob Boehme, Swedenborg, Martines de Pasqually, Saint Martin, Molinos, Madame Guyon, Bourignon and Krudener, the great sect of the Estatics and of the Illuminated.

The Lineage Analysis

Now well, if we make abstraction of Miguel Molinos, founder of quietism, who died in Rome in 1692, of Madame Guyon, Bourignon and Krudener, who were quietists, and of the sect of the Estatics, who had very close relations with the Martinists:

  • Who was Boehme but that illuminated shoemaker who died in 1624 and whose works had great influence on Saint Martin?
  • Who was Swedenborg, but the one who according to many cultivators and especially Papus, Mercier, Besuchet, initiated Martines de Pasqually in London?
  • Who were Martines de Pasqually and Saint Martin, but the founder and continuator, respectively, of Martinism?
  • And, finally, the sect of the Illuminated was not that which, with the name of Illuminated of Avignon founded the Martinist Dom Pernety?

THE CAREFUL DISCRETION

In spite of having named some who, in "different epochs," have conserved worthily "the doctrines of this science,"—and this procuring not to be too clear, thing that Balzac has carefully avoided in all his works—the great French author, without place for doubts, wanted to refer to Martinism in the aforementioned passage, and speaks of its inspirers, of its founder, of its continuator, of its initiates, of the sects that from Martinism itself had origin or that with it were in intimate contact.

THE DEEPER SIGNIFICANCE FOR LITERARY ESOTERIC TRANSMISSION

THE DEEPER SIGNIFICANCE FOR LITERARY ESOTERIC TRANSMISSION

This systematic analysis of Balzac's esoteric knowledge appears in March 1943 precisely when understanding how authentic spiritual traditions transmit through cultural and literary means becomes essential for post-war intellectual reconstruction. The detailed documentation demonstrates how profound esoteric understanding can manifest through literary expression serving both artistic excellence and spiritual education.

The Knowledge Depth Recognition

Profound vs. Superficial Understanding: The systematic recognition that Balzac's esoteric knowledge is "not superficial and panoramic, as could be that of any generally cultured person, but profound and meticulous" demonstrates how authentic esoteric understanding requires direct initiatic transmission rather than merely intellectual study or cultural familiarity.

The Literary Evidence Method

Doctrinal Manifestation Through Fiction: The systematic analysis of how Balzac "clearly manifested" esoteric knowledge through novels like "Ursule Mirodet," "La peau de chagrin," "La recherche de l'Absolu" and "Les Proscrits" demonstrates how authentic spiritual understanding can express through literary creativity serving both artistic achievement and esoteric education.

The Documentary Limitation Recognition

Relative Proof Methodology: The honest acknowledgment that "there do not exist original and authentic documents" for explicit confirmation while possessing "a series of relative proofs" that are "all concordant" demonstrates appropriate methodological approach to historical investigation of esoteric transmission requiring synthesis of circumstantial evidence rather than demanding impossible direct documentation.

The Categorical Affirmation Analysis

Insider Knowledge Demonstration: The systematic analysis of Balzac's categorical affirmation about Saint Martin, Gence and other "French writers, half German" knowing Swedenborg's name demonstrates how literary statements can reveal insider knowledge of spiritual movements and personalities not accessible through general cultural sources.

The Mystical Theology Precision

Technical Accuracy Recognition: The systematic analysis of Balzac's precise use of "mystical theology" rather than general "esoteric doctrine" and his accurate understanding of how it "embraced the ensemble of revelations and the explanation of mysteries" through Kabbalistic construction demonstrates technical accuracy requiring direct initiatic instruction rather than literary research.

The Secret Transmission Understanding

The Secret Transmission Understanding

"Among Us" Recognition: The systematic analysis of Balzac's phrase that ancient theology "has remained secretly honored among us" demonstrates understanding of how esoteric traditions maintain continuity through "intimate circles of initiates" rather than public institutional transmission.

The Complete Lineage Documentation

Historical Accuracy and Discretion: The systematic analysis of how Balzac accurately identifies the complete Martinist lineage—from Jacob Boehme through Swedenborg, Martines de Pasqually, Saint Martin to the Illuminated of Avignon—while maintaining careful discretion demonstrates how authentic esoteric transmission can provide historical education while respecting initiatic discretion requirements.

THE POST-WAR CULTURAL APPLICATIONS

This systematic analysis provides essential methodology for:

Literary Esoteric Recognition: Understanding how to identify authentic esoteric knowledge transmitted through literary means rather than merely conventional religious or philosophical expression

Historical Reconstruction: Learning systematic approaches to documenting esoteric transmission through concordant circumstantial evidence when direct documentation is unavailable or inappropriate

Cultural Transmission: Understanding how authentic spiritual traditions can maintain continuity and provide education through cultural and artistic expression serving both aesthetic and spiritual purposes

Technical Accuracy Assessment: Learning to distinguish between general cultural familiarity and precise technical understanding indicating direct initiatic transmission and authentic spiritual education

Discretion Appreciation: Understanding how authentic esoteric transmission maintains appropriate secrecy while providing cultural education and historical documentation serving legitimate spiritual and intellectual purposes

Lineage Recognition: Learning systematic approaches to identifying authentic spiritual lineages and traditional transmission through careful analysis of technical accuracy, historical knowledge, and discretionary revelation

This profound literary analysis demonstrates how authentic spiritual traditions can transmit through cultural means while maintaining both artistic excellence and spiritual authenticity—exactly the kind of cultural-spiritual integration needed for post-war reconstruction requiring both intellectual sophistication and spiritual understanding through systematic rather than merely academic approaches to cultural and spiritual investigation.

Truth-Nature: The Universal Search and Mystical Recognition

Poetic Meditation on Universal Seeking and Natural Revelation

Dedicated to VYASA, Blue Messenger of 1935, by MAYA, S.I.

THE COSMIC SONG AND GENERATION

Nature sings; from two thoughts a new being is born, thousands of beings and each one of them acquires its own soul; for when the new dawn shines, each one resumes the work begun.

All that which thinks or all that which loves, agitating without cease, feels itself drawn toward a supreme object; the skiff seeks a port, the bee seeks a flower, the compass seeks a pole and man labors searching, consciously or unconsciously, the Truth.

THE PROFOUND TRUTH AS ANCHOR

The profound Truth; most solid granite that, in the depth of all seas, always finds our anchor, when traversing the world through which pass, in the obscure abyss, innumerable dreams.

Truth, beautiful river that flows eternally, fountain in which all causes drink, radiant light of the spirit that animates everything.

THE UNIVERSAL TREE OF REFUGE

Tree of rough bark, Banyan of vastest crown whose shadow extends; tree in which all find a refuge: some upon its branches, others near its trunk and others in its root.

This universal accessibility demonstrates how Truth provides appropriate refuge for every level of spiritual development and individual capacity, offering branches for the elevated, trunk for the stable, and roots for those seeking foundational understanding.

THE BLUE OF TRANSFORMATION

Blue with which the water of the bitter environment is veiled, when we let our bark flee at the mercy of the wind, and inclining over the waves, we hear in the interior of the soul the epithalamic singer of the sea.

Blue of the smiling sky, which we admire when we try to listen to what our spirit says, when we attempt to decipher the obscure words that the ether murmurs and that the stars write.

The Blue Symbolism

The blue represents the transformative medium through which ordinary experience becomes spiritual revelation. The bitter environment becomes beautiful through the blue veil of spiritual perception, just as the sky's blue enables reception of etheric communications and stellar writing.

THE UNIVERSAL CREATION

Truth, pure creation, universal being, ocean that entirely girds the universe, star that makes the Lord's breath sprout, flowers from where, perhaps, He collects the honey.

Heaven and earth, Truth made flesh; Nature.

The Incarnation Principle

This systematic recognition that Truth becomes Nature through incarnation (Truth made flesh) demonstrates how spiritual principles manifest through physical existence rather than remaining merely abstract or transcendent.

The Incarnation Principle

This systematic recognition that Truth becomes Nature through incarnation (Truth made flesh) demonstrates how spiritual principles manifest through physical existence rather than remaining merely abstract or transcendent.

NATURE AS DIVINE BOOK

Nature, inexhaustible book and of which man himself is its most profound page.

Nature, holy and wise book, written by God with the Light of Truth.

Nature, symbolic book of salvation, in which heart and mind find their nourishment and which all the wise strive to decipher, and whose sense must be instructed; book that the initiate spells, in the knowledge of himself; that Gautama the Buddha reads under the sacred Bo and that the Christ reads beside the divine Cross.

The Three Readers

The Initiate: Spells the book through self-knowledge—representing the preliminary stage of learning the alphabet of natural revelation through introspection and personal development.

Gautama Buddha: Reads under the sacred Bo tree—representing the contemplative approach to natural revelation through meditation and direct spiritual perception.

The Christ: Reads beside the divine Cross—representing the sacrificial approach to natural revelation through service and conscious suffering for universal salvation.

THE DEEPER SIGNIFICANCE FOR NATURAL REVELATION

This profound poetic meditation appears in March 1943 precisely when understanding the relationship between natural world and spiritual truth becomes essential for post-war reconstruction requiring both practical relationship with nature and spiritual understanding of cosmic principles. The systematic presentation demonstrates how authentic spiritual perception recognizes nature as divine revelation rather than mere material phenomenon.

The Universal Seeking Pattern

Cosmic Attraction Principle: The systematic recognition that "all that which thinks or all that which loves" feels "drawn toward a supreme object" through natural analogies—skiff seeking port, bee seeking flower, compass seeking pole—demonstrates how spiritual seeking operates through natural rather than artificial patterns. During post-war reconstruction requiring both practical work and spiritual direction, this provides understanding of how human spiritual needs follow cosmic rather than merely social patterns.

The Profound Truth as Foundation

Granite Anchor Metaphor: The recognition of profound Truth as "most solid granite" that "always finds our anchor in the depth of all seas" demonstrates how authentic spiritual understanding provides stable foundation during periods of social upheaval and change. The "innumerable dreams" passing through "obscure abyss" represent the confusion of transitional periods requiring Truth as reliable navigation anchor.

The Universal Tree Accessibility

The "innumerable dreams" passing through "obscure abyss" represent the confusion of transitional periods requiring Truth as reliable navigation anchor.

The Universal Tree Accessibility

Multi-Level Accommodation: The systematic recognition that the Universal Tree provides "refuge" for "some upon its branches, others near its trunk and others in its root" demonstrates how authentic spiritual truth accommodates different levels of development and capacity rather than requiring uniform approach or understanding.

The Blue Transformation Medium

Perception Alteration Technology: The systematic understanding that blue serves as transformative medium enabling "bitter environment" to become beautiful and ordinary sky to reveal "etheric communications" and "stellar writing" demonstrates how spiritual perception operates through qualitative rather than quantitative change in consciousness.

The Incarnation Recognition

Truth-Nature Identity: The systematic recognition that "Heaven and earth" represent "Truth made flesh" as "Nature" demonstrates how authentic spirituality recognizes physical existence as divine manifestation rather than spiritual obstacle or illusion.

The Three Reading Levels

Progressive Comprehension System: The systematic progression from Initiate (spelling through self-knowledge) through Buddha (reading through contemplation) to Christ (reading through sacrifice) demonstrates how natural revelation requires progressive spiritual development and different methodological approaches according to individual spiritual capacity and evolutionary stage.

THE POST-WAR NATURAL SPIRITUALITY APPLICATIONS

This profound meditation provides essential methodology for:

Natural Spiritual Recognition: Understanding systematic approaches to recognizing natural world as divine revelation rather than mere material resource or aesthetic object

Universal Seeking Pattern: Learning to recognize and coordinate individual spiritual seeking with cosmic patterns and natural analogies rather than artificial social or religious systems

Multi-Level Accessibility: Understanding how to provide spiritual teaching and guidance accommodating different levels of development and capacity rather than requiring uniform approaches

Transformation Technology: Learning systematic approaches to consciousness transformation enabling spiritual perception of ordinary experience through qualitative rather than quantitative change

Incarnation Appreciation: Understanding the relationship between spiritual truth and physical manifestation enabling integration of practical and spiritual life rather than artificial separation

Progressive Reading: Learning systematic approaches to natural revelation through self-knowledge, contemplative perception, and sacrificial service according to individual spiritual development and capacity

This profound poetic teaching demonstrates how authentic spiritual understanding recognizes nature as divine book requiring progressive reading ability and spiritual development—exactly the kind of natural spirituality needed for post-war reconstruction requiring both practical relationship with natural world and spiritual understanding of cosmic principles through systematic rather than merely romantic or materialistic approaches to nature and spiritual development.

The Truth is Always Beautiful: Commentary on the GIDEE Exposition

Comprehensive Analysis of Spiritual Art and Devotional Expression

By a S.I.

THE THREE HALLS OF SPIRITUAL MANIFESTATION

In three halls, of which LA INICIACIÓN today offers a partial view, are exposed—by fecund initiative of the GIDEE, under the silent auspices of the Martinist Order, which makes itself present there only through its marvelous symbol, suspended like a Protection over the Picture of the ADEPT of unfurled and radiating aura—most notable works that Dr. Jehel has begun to describe briefly in his report published in the previous number of this Magazine.

The Commentary Purpose

This commentary does not have as purpose to detail numerically the exposed works nor to cite them separately. It seeks rather to transmit to the brothers who have not visited it, a little of the much felt there in diverse visits, some prolonged.

THE UNIVERSAL BEAUTY AND COLORED MESSAGES

In first place, a beauty of colors and of majesty emanates from many of the exposed works, that caress the mind and make colored and plastic messages arrive to it, that perhaps words would not suffice to translate as the art and devotion of the authors expressed them, all initiates, in diverse degrees or ways, but linked in spirit and realization by that noble appetite to feel the beauty of universal truth and to procure to manifest in sensible form to the less gifted, some of its most perfect expressions.

The Initiatic Unity Recognition

This systematic recognition demonstrates how authentic spiritual art emerges from universal truth perception rather than merely individual creativity or technical skill, creating works that serve educational function for "the less gifted" through "sensible form" manifestation of spiritual realities.

THE TECHNICAL YOGA FIGURES

The technical figures of Yoga speak to me of the necessity of caring for my body, as precious and complex instrument, means of expression and realization, for all works, from the most material to many—or all—of the spiritual or psychic.

THE TECHNICAL YOGA FIGURES

The technical figures of Yoga speak to me of the necessity of caring for my body, as precious and complex instrument, means of expression and realization, for all works, from the most material to many—or all—of the spiritual or psychic.

They speak to me, also, of discipline, of perseverance, of harmony necessary in each one to arrive at a beautiful realization, that begins like gymnastics and dietetics and terminates in ecstasy, creations or perceptions of other species that carry the human being to the revelation of his most divine part or to contact with the planes and beings of the Divine World, which, well meditated, is probably the same thing.

The Progressive Integration Understanding

This systematic understanding demonstrates how authentic spiritual development integrates physical discipline with spiritual achievement through recognizing the body as "precious and complex instrument" rather than spiritual obstacle, enabling progression from "gymnastics and dietetics" to "ecstasy and divine contact".

THE ASTRAL REALITY REPRESENTATIONS

The marvelous pictures about sensations, sentiments, passions, thought-forms, auric projections and beings of the lower and middle astral, human and of nature, speak to me in graphic and colored language of reality, and more especially of that part of it that has been called subjective, abstract or invisible, only because we do not make the necessary effort to make it, for us, as tangible, as visible, as objective as the armchair in which, softly gathered, I contemplate so much beauty that the effort of some brothers offers us, whose ideal and desire for realization was greater than all laziness, than all indifference or than all difficulty arising in the course of conception, perception or realization of all that there marvels me, instructing me or putting in vibration something of the best that in the human being resides: the instinctive or intuitive perceiving of truth made beauty or perceived as it is, really.

The Subjective-Objective Integration

This profound understanding demonstrates how authentic spiritual perception dissolves the artificial distinction between "subjective, abstract or invisible" and "objective, concrete or visible" through systematic spiritual development and dedicated practice rather than theoretical understanding alone.

THE DEVAS AND ANGELIC HIERARCHY

THE DEVAS AND ANGELIC HIERARCHY

The works that represent devas (angelic beings) full of Peace and of Light, in their marvelous Function of guiding our steps, of helping each one of our lesser efforts to approach true Light, dazzle by their purity of execution and make meditate on what could be a human entity that tried to awaken the dormant angel in its interior, by procuring to live "semi-angelic functions" helping also any constructive impulse or effort of its brothers of humanity, or procuring to alleviate their individual and collective pains, as teaches us by its luminous example, the "DEVA IN THE HOSPITAL" or the "DEVA OF THE PEACE OF THE FIELDS".

The Human-Angelic Integration

This systematic understanding demonstrates how authentic spiritual development involves "awakening the dormant angel" through "semi-angelic functions" of service rather than merely personal spiritual advancement, providing methodology for individual spiritual development serving collective welfare.

THE CINCELATED WORKS AND SPIRITUAL CONSISTENCY

Other figures, cincelated these, give us in their sweet rigidity, in their soft firmness, the same lesson "sung in another tone" like a confirmatory leitmotif that the spirituality of other brothers offers us, through the sacrifice of hours of spiritual trance and hours robbed from sleep, to realize so many small representations of marvelous grandeurs.

The Sacrificial Creation Recognition

This systematic recognition demonstrates how authentic spiritual art requires "sacrifice of hours of spiritual trance and hours robbed from sleep" rather than merely inspiration or technical skill, creating works that serve as "confirmatory leitmotif" of universal spiritual principles.

THE MASTER'S BLESSING

A picture; "THE BLESSING OF THE MASTER" shows us an Initiate, all of him surrounded by a devotional aurora, vibrant with emotion for the awakening of Light that he feels palpitating in himself; human being strong from all his efforts, powerful by his knowledge and possibilities, so far above ordinary mediocrity and, nevertheless, so reverently devotional before The Master, before a being who has voluntarily suffered more than he still, for the same finalities and for obtaining greater responsibilities.

The Hierarchical Devotion Understanding

This systematic understanding demonstrates how authentic spiritual achievement enhances rather than diminishes devotional recognition of superior spiritual attainment, creating "devotional aurora" rather than spiritual pride or competitive comparison.

THE PROGRESSIVE SPECTRUM OF EXPRESSION

THE PROGRESSIVE SPECTRUM OF EXPRESSION

And, from the almost simple drawings of beginners, who in their first meditations obtained some rays of the Great Light to the marvelous pictures of Sadananda or the chiseled statuettes of Flamel, all speaks of the same thing: of the world of spirits and of universal forces, "that is not closed" to those who, opening their heart to Its Light, open at the same time the very Golden Door by which they must enter at the same instant in which their voluntary sacrifice has purified them sufficiently and their disinterest has made them worthy of coexistence with the "non-egoists".

The Universal Accessibility Principle

This systematic understanding demonstrates how spiritual perception is "not closed" to anyone willing to make "voluntary sacrifice" and develop "disinterest", enabling "coexistence with the non-egoists" through character development rather than special talent or exclusive initiation.

THE DELICATE FILIGREES OF JEMARD

Other drawings—of Jemard in the third hall—are like delicate filigrees, in whose lines of extreme simplicity, but of magnificent delicacy, are expressed the mysteries of "relations" between being and being, between plane and plane, between force and force.

The Smile of Clay

He moves us with his "SMILE OF CLAY," of that black clay that procures and succeeds in smiling at the Sun through the flower that is born from it, like a bad man who procures to make grow the little plant of good that in a crack of his clay only awaits humidity of a disinterested tear or the ray of sun of a good desire, to arise and grow...

This profound metaphor demonstrates how even the most degraded conditions can produce beauty and spiritual value through patient nurturing and disinterested care, providing hope and methodology for individual and social transformation.

THE SYNTHESIS OF SADANANDA

And Sadananda, marvelously synthesizing the possibility, the means, the effort and the result, puts before our eyes, before the mind, before the soul and in the spirit the "complete lesson" in his pictures "THE ETHERIC TEMPLE" of the mountain, "THE MIDNIGHT OF THE YOGI," "THE ADORATION OF THE PORTAL," "THE FULL MOON OF VAYSAK" and "THE BIRTH OF THE INTERNAL CHRIST IN THE HEART OF MAN."

The Complete Teaching Integration

This systematic recognition demonstrates how authentic spiritual art can provide "complete lesson" integrating "possibility, means, effort and result" through visual representation rather than merely verbal instruction or theoretical understanding.

THE WHISPERED TEACHINGS

THE WHISPERED TEACHINGS

I shall tell you, I shall try to say, at least, what these pictures murmur, by the fine wave that enters the hands like electricity, in the eyes like symphony of colors and in the soul like a caress of an angel's wing.

"Follow the path of the Master, procure to hear his Voice in your thinking; his Force in your action; his spirit in your prayer; seek, brother, the etheric Temple, invisible to the hard of heart, to the skeptic and to the egoist and, nevertheless, always present and eternal, over the summit of the Silent Mountain of meditation.

But, if you find it, let not your appetite for progress precipitate into it. Immobilize your steps before its threshold, and adore, even before the Portal, the Supreme Being to whose glory it is erected and all the efforts of those who, much before you arrived, labored in its construction.

Prostrate your soul before the Sanctuary and prepare your Spirit to receive, like a sacred deposit, the keys of the spiritual world.

Retire—to YOUR SELF, to YOUR REAL I—in silent meditation, even when your body must follow the habitual trajectory of daily labor.

Unite yourself, in spirit, to the great celebrations, little matters the name they have. That you feel the sweetness of Lord Buddha's renunciation and his infinite goodness or that you feel more the perpetual offering of himself of the Divine Nazarene, that is still distinction of form or of time. But the important thing is that you feel, that you reverence, that you understand and that YOU FOLLOW HIS PATH, the path of YOUR Master or of Your Spirit always in search of Truth and Light.

If you realize it, you will find what Sadananda showed in his last picture: 'When the Internal Christ is born in the Heart of Man'... There is, without doubt, the Purity, of the Ineffable Lotus; there is, in truth, the Perfumed Rose, there is the marvelous serenity of the Lake in which the Initiated drinks Truth, there is the spontaneity and innocence of the newborn Child, there are the terrible thorns, the blessed thorns that HAVE FLOWERED IN WINGS, in wings that carry you, in definitive flight, toward the Radiant Star, the LIGHT made Man, the Verb made Harmonic Action with its Principle."

THE FINAL SYNTHESIS

If I wished to synthesize the GIDEE Exposition, I would say like the Great Kunrath: "ORA et LABORA"; because it is that: Labor and Prayer.

THE DEEPER SIGNIFICANCE FOR SPIRITUAL ART APPRECIATION

This comprehensive exposition commentary appears in March 1943 precisely when understanding how spiritual art serves collective education and individual inspiration becomes essential for post-war cultural reconstruction. The detailed analysis demonstrates how authentic spiritual creativity integrates technical excellence with devotional expression and universal service.

The Educational Function Recognition

The detailed analysis demonstrates how authentic spiritual creativity integrates technical excellence with devotional expression and universal service.

The Educational Function Recognition

Sensible Form Manifestation: The systematic recognition that spiritual art serves to "manifest in sensible form to the less gifted, some of its most perfect expressions" demonstrates how authentic spiritual creativity operates as educational technology rather than merely aesthetic expression or personal creativity.

The Progressive Integration Understanding

Body-Spirit Coordination: The systematic understanding that yoga figures demonstrate progression "from gymnastics and dietetics" to "ecstasy and divine contact" provides methodology for integrated spiritual development recognizing physical discipline as foundation rather than obstacle to spiritual achievement.

The Reality Perception Technology

Subjective-Objective Integration: The systematic understanding that "subjective, abstract or invisible" can become "as tangible, as visible, as objective" through systematic effort demonstrates how spiritual perception operates through developed capability rather than theoretical understanding or faith alone.

The Angelic Function Integration

Semi-Angelic Service: The systematic recognition that human spiritual development involves "awakening the dormant angel" through "semi-angelic functions" of service demonstrates how individual spiritual advancement serves collective welfare rather than merely personal spiritual achievement.

The Hierarchical Devotion Maintenance

Achievement-Humility Integration: The systematic understanding that authentic spiritual achievement enhances rather than diminishes devotional recognition of superior attainment demonstrates how spiritual pride represents spiritual failure rather than spiritual success.

The Universal Accessibility Principle

Non-Exclusive Spiritual Development: The systematic recognition that spiritual perception is "not closed" to anyone willing to develop "voluntary sacrifice" and "disinterest" demonstrates how spiritual development operates through character rather than special talent or exclusive initiation.

The Complete Teaching Integration

Visual-Conceptual Synthesis: The systematic recognition that authentic spiritual art can provide "complete lesson" integrating "possibility, means, effort and result" demonstrates how visual representation can convey complete spiritual methodology rather than merely inspirational or decorative function.

THE POST-WAR CULTURAL APPLICATIONS

This comprehensive commentary provides essential methodology for:

Spiritual Art Recognition: Understanding systematic approaches to evaluating and appreciating spiritual art serving educational and inspirational rather than merely aesthetic or commercial purposes

Progressive Development: Learning systematic approaches to coordinating physical discipline with spiritual development through understanding the body as spiritual instrument rather than spiritual obstacle

Reality Integration: Understanding systematic approaches to developing spiritual perception enabling integration of invisible and visible, subjective and objective reality through practical effort rather than theoretical study

Service Integration: Learning systematic approaches to individual spiritual development serving collective welfare through angelic function rather than merely personal spiritual advancement

Humility Maintenance: Understanding how authentic spiritual achievement enhances rather than diminishes devotional recognition and hierarchical respect enabling continued spiritual development rather than spiritual pride and stagnation

Universal Development: Learning systematic approaches to spiritual development accessible to anyone willing to develop character through sacrifice and disinterest rather than requiring special talent or exclusive initiation

This profound art commentary demonstrates how authentic spiritual creativity serves complete human development through integrating technical excellence, educational function, devotional expression, and universal service—exactly the kind of cultural spiritual integration needed for post-war reconstruction requiring both artistic excellence and spiritual understanding through systematic rather than merely aesthetic or commercial approaches to art and cultural development.
