Chapter 2: Living Reality of the Symbols

XI: Meditations on the Triangle

By Jehel, S.I. Dr. Kab.

LIVING REALITY OF THE SYMBOLSXI: MEDITATIONS ON THE TRIANGLE

According to what was explained in the preceding article, the triangle alone is already the basis for understanding the relationship between the reason for being (central physical axis, essential formal transitory purpose and absolute evolutionary content or partial expression of the universal reality of the moment) of a form, and its modes of expression in projection over the physical environment (minor cathetus, horizontal) as well as its full possibilities as a means of relationship between: the Total Absolute and the Eternal contained in the form, on one hand, and the consequences of the life of relationship between all the planes of the Environment and all the constitutive planes of the form, on the other hand, all of which is expressed by the hypotenuse.

But it has also been possible to understand that, as we had expressed in one of the initial articles of this series, there is a law that says:

EVERY COMPLETE SYMBOL, THAT IS: EXPRESSION OF A SET OF UNIVERSAL AND PARTICULAR LAWS WITH THEIR MODES OF RELATIONSHIP IS, INEVITABLY, SYMMETRICAL.

The right triangle does not present such symmetry, and, therefore, is not a complete expression, but partial. But whoever says "partial" must concern themselves with knowing "what part of the whole" represents the fraction considered.

Well then; the right triangle is always the exact HALF of an equilateral triangle.

From this we can infer, without fear of being wrong, that it can be affirmed:

Either that: the right triangle expresses half of what is contained or manifested by an equilateral triangle.

Or that: (and this aspect is the most interesting), that an equilateral triangle manifests a complete (total) set of laws, whose double CONSTITUTIVE AND FUNCTIONAL polarity is expressed through two right triangles that have as INDIVISIBLE UNION IDENTIFIABLE ONLY BY ABSTRACTION, the common axis formed by the MAJOR CATHETUS, which is the bisector of the angle taken as cusp or summit of the equilateral triangle.

Let us put this, now, in language, no longer geometric material, but in the language of sacred geometry, which is nothing other than the language of symbols, and we can say:

The Great TAO (Divinity, Universe) or the Tau (human being or every existing form), manifest in their functional activity, in their experience, through an equilateral triangle.

This means that every being, thing, fact, is intrinsically constituted and actively expressed, that is, in its own actuation, by three aspects, but inseparable and perfectly balanced among themselves.

This means that every being, thing, fact, is intrinsically constituted and actively expressed, that is, in its own actuation, by three aspects, but inseparable and perfectly balanced among themselves.

So that our readers can try to take advantage of this as a practical key, we are going, then, to try to put names on the three sides of the equilateral triangle, considered in itself and with its three sides. Subsequently, we will have to look for the "axis," but that will be more complex...

And, before moving on to "naming" triangles, let us remove from the mind a position that could be installed and that is erroneous: when one names or considers a triangle, almost all people tend to consider it as "constituted by three sides, which are being named in an order: a, b and c — or well: 1, 2 and 3.

This is, in reality, what always prevents the student of symbology from finding the keys, since he sees in the three sides moments or successive facts, that is, that "occur" one after another or in consequence of one another.

This is false: if we remember well how we have discovered the triangle, we know that it was, exclusively, by displacing, by expanding the CONSCIOUSNESS OF THE BEING, that it ended up rediscovering, once more, that the triangle was the delimitation of its own nature, that is, a triple composition in what refers to internal manifested nature, and a visible formal triangle in what relates to the life of relationship, actuation or experience of forms.

Therefore: every equilateral triangle (let us leave the others for now), must always and ONLY be considered as the constitutive and functional scheme through which works, acts and reveals to itself A CENTRAL CONSCIOUSNESS, which, as we saw in slides previously published, was situated in the center of figure of the triangle (cardiac center in the human being and point of equilibrium of the astral or MORAL plane in a universe or GREAT BEING).

It results from this consideration that, if we name the sides of a triangle, we will have to do it, then, in an order that will be ONLY the proper order in which said CENTRAL consciousness manifests, either to itself, or to whatever surrounds it, or, when we proceed in reverse, the order by which the facts of the world that surrounds said consciousness (be it physical, astral, spiritual or TOTAL world) arrive at the perception of the living consciousness in determined form.

This said, we can move on to denominate some Equilateral Triangles:

CENTRAL CONSCIOUSNESS: A GOD, unmanifested.Sides:

SEITY: Faculty of Being, (with full consciousness of Self).GNOSIS: Faculty of Knowing oneself (Full Knowledge of HIS reason for Being).KINOS: Faculty of Action (with full consciousness of Movement, that is, of Action).

CENTRAL CONSCIOUSNESS: A GOD, in potential of manifestation.Sides:

CENTRAL CONSCIOUSNESS: A GOD, in potential of manifestation.Sides:

CREATOR: Faculty of GIVING partial Seity to manifestations.CONSERVATOR: Faculty of endowing manifestations with partial consciousness indispensable to the game of conservation.TRANSFORMER: Faculty of endowing manifestations with power and desire for action, which will produce changes in forms and the development of perception of partial consciousnesses, unique endowed with Seity, that is, with the faculty of Being, indestructible in itself and which only ceases in appearance through reintegration to the Being of the Creator.

CENTRAL CONSCIOUSNESS: A GOD, in manifestation.Sides:

FATHER-MOTHER: The Being and his Faculty of Giving Being put into play their Love for the Creation of HIS manifestations, that is, of Fragmentary Consciousnesses that ARE because THE BEING is in them and they in the Being.

MOTHER-SON: The Love of the MOTHER Polarity of the Creator, becomes "flesh," that is, assimilates in the SON; manifestations are assured of a faculty of knowledge sufficient to assure their functions of: conservation, production and reproduction, and, furthermore, have the Protection of KNOWLEDGE MADE LOVE.

HOLY SPIRIT: In marvelous play, the actuations of forms, or manifestations, are, on one hand: the result of the Creative Activity of the Father-Mother, on the other hand, of the conservative activity of Mother-Son and, finally, the proper activity of the life of relationship of forms or manifestations among themselves: all of which brings as result the progressive transformation of each part and of the whole.

CENTRAL CONSCIOUSNESS: A GOD, manifested in a Universe.Sides:

FATHER-MOTHER: THE CREATOR of said Universe, in a dream without sleep, has as EXPERIENCE AND AS BREATH the theme of what "was, is and is to be" in that Universe: the complete theme, the TOTAL THOUGHT, eternity that contains all the times of that universe, IS, and the PATERNAL Consciousness (Full consciousness of what is) eternally caresses THE MOTHER: the faculty of Giving Being to what is not yet in manifestation, but is from all always in potency, in the Being of the Father.

MOTHER-SON: Fecundated by Being-Creator, true IDEA - thought (father) with form (mother) - the Song of the Divine Mother expresses itself as Word (SON) and, each note, each letter, each sound, each color, each form, is ONE manifestation: a formal realization of the Creator Thought. A part of the dream without dream, something that the total Consciousness LIVES FULLY because by giving it ISOLATED TEMPORARY FORM it is as if the Consciousness of the God-Creator were all IN THAT MOMENT AND FORM FOR SUCH PARTIAL PURPOSE OF THE DIVINE CREATOR DECREE, and that is conserved in the form until the form has fulfilled the plenitude of what it contains: until the son has fully fulfilled that for which FATHER-MOTHER gave him Being.

HOLY SPIRIT: Forms, in uncountable number, in places that are all Space without end and in times that are all Time, express in modes that are as many as the forms, the marvel of the Power to Create, of the Faculty to Love and to Conserve, and, in the search, voluntary or not yet, in the search that believes itself free and voluntary, or that knows itself fatal or that already feels itself inspired, the actual consciousnesses in the forms mix their games, act and react, on themselves, among themselves, and toward their superior and eternal origin. The Body of God, the Soul of God and GOD-HIMSELF in his consciousness made of the sum of uncountable fragmentary consciousnesses, offer to The Consciousness of ANOTHER UNIVERSE, the marvelous spectacle of A GOD who fulfills his mission and seeks the consciousness of it in each atom of his Universal Existence.

AMEN.

Chapter 3: Practical Course of Judicial Astrology

The Influences of the Mutual Aspects of the Planets

Teachings of Surya, S.I.

PRACTICAL COURSE OF JUDICIAL ASTROLOGY(Continuation)THE INFLUENCES OF THE MUTUAL ASPECTS OF THE PLANETSTHE ASPECTS OF THE SUN WITH THE OTHER PLANETS

THE SUN IN CONJUNCTION OR PARALLEL WITH VENUS

(Venus never moves more than 48 degrees away from the Sun, being unable to form even a sextile) These aspects give attraction for social gatherings with women, dance, song, music, jewels and toilette. If they occur in Cancer and Scorpio they give attraction for sensual pleasures with young companions, and in Pisces they lead to intemperance. In the 2nd and 5th house, the man will dissipate fortune with women and pleasures. In the 8th, the native or spouse will be extravagant. In the 7th, it indicates happy marriage or success in employment or profession. In the 4th or 10th, it gives success in luxury professions, in dance, song and music. These aspects strengthen the constitution, increase popularity and provide many lasting friends.

THE SUN IN CONJUNCTION OR PARALLEL WITH MERCURY

(These are the only two aspects that form between the two). They are good for memory and mentality if Mercury is not closer to the Sun than three degrees, because in this case it would be in combustion and would lose its best qualities. It is better to have Mercury rising before the Sun, otherwise the mentality is not so clear or so acute, unless other good aspects favor it. These aspects give sagacity, erudition and ability in all matters. The spirit is superficial and little inclined to serious and profound studies and the person will see rather the details than the substance of things. This applies especially when occurring in the 3rd, 9th and 10th house, giving attraction for literature and poetry. In Scorpio they give ability for doctor, chemist or occultist.

THE SUN IN CONJUNCTION OR PARALLEL WITH THE MOON

This applies especially when occurring in the 3rd, 9th and 10th house, giving attraction for literature and poetry. In Scorpio they give ability for doctor, chemist or occultist.

THE SUN IN CONJUNCTION OR PARALLEL WITH THE MOON

In the 1st house, the person will be very egotistical, with very little love for others, except while they serve his purposes; in the 7th, the axes of the world will revolve around his consort; in the 10th or the 10th sign, the person will sacrifice all considerations of whatever nature they may be to win the favor of the public; in the 12th or in the 12th sign, the conjunction will give a strong tendency toward drink, producing inconveniences and annoyances; in the 3rd and 9th, the conjunction will illuminate the mind and induce the person to travel, which will bring him benefits; in the 2nd it provides riches, especially if the Moon is in good aspect with Jupiter. But if the conjunction of the Sun and Moon is less than three degrees it tends to diminish vitality, and if the conjunction is also a solar eclipse and the child thus born survives, this aspect will be truly noted throughout life. Persons who have such close conjunction or eclipses occurred at the moment of their birth, will be inattentive and negligent frequently and especially at times of New Moon, although it does not affect them in other orders of life.

THE SUN IN SEXTILE OR TRINE WITH THE MOON gives general success in life, good health, excellent finances, good conditions in home and neighborhood, faithful friends and esteem, favoring the elevation of the person.

THE SUN IN SQUARE OR OPPOSITION WITH THE MOON indicates constitution subject to economic diseases and will encounter numerous obstacles in the profession he chooses, incessant difficulties that will hinder success. He will be little fortunate in speculations and women will cause him many displeasures; this latter in masculine horoscope.

THE SUN IN SEXTILE OR TRINE WITH URANUS makes the person very intuitive, original, inventive and independent in his manner of conducting himself, of sensitive temperament, with very good self-control, rarely ill-humored and very idealistic. These persons seem eccentric, often suspicious, but not offensive, they feel attraction for occultism and astrology and also seek in the unknown the secrets of nature, like electricity and other similar elements. These aspects usually elevate the person through friendships of high social position. (These indications are expanded in the references to square and opposition).

These aspects usually elevate the person through friendships of high social position. (These indications are expanded in the references to square and opposition).

THE SUN IN CONJUNCTION, PARALLEL, SQUARE OR OPPOSITION WITH URANUS makes the person of very high nervous tension and with uncontrolled emotions, distrustful, independent, of advanced ideas, contrary to social conventionalisms, loving free love and prone to divorce and scandals. Although the aspects between these two planets are good, they always occasion strange vicissitudes and when the person obtains successes they are usually followed by reverses; when he obtains public positions they later cause him disgraces. In feminine horoscope, both the good and bad aspects of the Sun with Uranus make marriage unhappy and provide illegal unions. If they are in bad aspect, the following indications will be much more accentuated in everything that is unfavorable: in the 1st house of proud character, anxious for honors and distinctions; in the 2nd, gains followed by loss of money; pecuniary situation subject to constant fluctuations; in the 3rd, alternated successes and failures, in travels, literary careers or with relations; in the 4th, independence and possible helps if Uranus is well aspected by the lord of this house; in the 5th, bad omens for the life of his children or by Stock Exchange matters; in the 6th, if it is well disposed, profits and gains through his subordinates, his uncles or aunts. If the aspect is adverse and Uranus is badly disposed in general, it influences the state of health; in the 7th, if the aspect is also unfavorable, it causes innumerable displeasures in marriage or in things related to this house; in the 8th it provides legacies or inheritances from the spouse; in the 9th, success in studies or in travels; in the 10th, success in profession or in public employments, always reserving some surprise for the person; in the 11th, elevated and powerful friends; in the 12th, annoyances and displeasures caused by jealous persons and compromised fortune. These indications apply for whichever of the two planets is situated in some of the mentioned houses of the theme.

THE SUN IN SEXTILE OR TRINE WITH NEPTUNE means: imagination, artistic taste, rise in position, fortune, the houses indicating the origin. It favors the possibility of developing spiritual faculties because it intensifies the spiritual vibrations of the aura. If Mercury gives the necessary dexterity, the person with this aspect can become a musician of a highly inspired nature. In others it instills love for occultism that leads to the superior life, but generally they approach it from the intellectual point of view or as psychic researchers, reaching at most a few of them, first-hand knowledge.

In others it instills love for occultism that leads to the superior life, but generally they approach it from the intellectual point of view or as psychic researchers, reaching at most a few of them, first-hand knowledge.

THE SUN IN CONJUNCTION, PARALLEL, SQUARE OR OPPOSITION WITH NEPTUNE indicates difficulties, disgraces, calamities and discredit; propensity to be mocked by persons in whom confidence has been deposited or by swindlers and to be hallucinated and deceived. These unfavorable aspects also lead the person to put himself in contact with the beings of the invisible world through the elevation of the vibrations of his aura, but attract the undesirable elements such as those that can be observed in ordinary spiritualist sessions. In a water sign, Neptune induces the person to drink excessively.

NOTE: The aspects of the Sun with the other planets are indicated in the previous corresponding articles.

Chapter 4: Practical Teachings of Martinism

How to Approach the Path to Christianity

By Jehel, President of the Great Council of the Martinist Order.

PRACTICAL TEACHINGS OF MARTINISMHOW TO APPROACH THE PATH TO CHRISTIANITY

Proceeding in this in a different mode from that used by other societies, which seek rather to hide any internal difficulty or any lack of unity of views among their Members, our Venerable Order has always published in "La Iniciación" its problems, its reforms, its progress and its partial failures (Groups closed, resignations, etc.) and I firmly believe that this orientation of "crystal politics," as they have come to denominate in complex modern language simple frankness, is the only one that can lead to a good end, which is why, as far as I am concerned, and especially in my function as President of the Great Council, it is my intention to give each time more publicity to all our external and internal experiences, since thus, possibly, martinists or not, readers can sometimes take advantage of something from the effort of all our members, since no success or failure is worth more than what it produces as experience for those who lived it or those who, even without living it personally, tried to understand and, especially, to feel.

Now then: lately, from several places, members of our Order pose to the Great Council two distinct problems, which are:

1°) The Christian orientation and teaching and the Oriental: which should predominate or not, or if one of them is preferable.

2°) If the Order should prefer to work "on the surface," that is, seek more the numerical increase and action in the external world, or if, on the contrary, it should rather work "in depth," that is, preferring a reduced number of members to whom they "prepare" with high efficiency.

2°) If the Order should prefer to work "on the surface," that is, seek more the numerical increase and action in the external world, or if, on the contrary, it should rather work "in depth," that is, preferring a reduced number of members to whom they "prepare" with high efficiency.

After studying these two questions, it has seemed convenient to me to publicly expose my point of view, as Martinist Initiator and as President of the Great Council, so that martinists and eventual candidates to be so can form a clear idea of the orientation of our Order and approach — or distance themselves — according to the affinity they feel with such orientation.

I will deal, today, with the first matter: The Christian doctrine and the Oriental, in our Order.

In the first place, it should be remembered that the Venerable Master PAPUS said: The Martinist Order is a Christian Chivalry. Subsequently, when reorganized in 1939 with the name of: Martinist Order of South America in this Continent, our Venerable Order declared to have as fundamental purpose: To spread Christian Esotericism and the Practice of Charity.

Now well: before going further, I must declare that this PURPOSE has not been changed in the slightest. And if I emphasize the word "purpose" it is to make clear that a "purpose" is that which is held as goal, as end and... which, generally, is achieved last... when it is achieved.

There are martinist brothers and profane persons also, who, seeing the great importance that Oriental doctrines have taken among martinists and among the publications of the Order, and the emphasis given to the venerable figures of certain Masters of the Orient, have believed that the orientation had suffered changes or that, at least, one thing did not accord with the other.

I regret having to manifest my disagreement with such point of view and will expose, below, the reasons:

If a martinist complains that he has not yet received sufficient study material on the teachings of the venerable Masters of Pasqually or Saint Martin, he has complete reason and, more than once, we have manifested our desire to make available to martinists —and to the public when possible— sufficient doctrinal publications. But, to begin with the beginning, it has been believed better to publish first things of easy reach, like what is already published and a work of general and scientific base, like the METHODICAL TREATISE OF OCCULTISM, by PAPUS, which is in the press, since we know, with full security, that such work represents an indispensable contribution for martinists in general and also of great utility for the profane, being a unique work of its kind: clear, complete, sure as information and reasonable and logical as orientation.

Let what is said, then, be valid for now, in what refers to publications, that is, to the "intellectual" part, which will be completed, in a brief term, by the courses that are going to be edited and of which the first, of "ANDROGONY," is already totally prepared.

In what refers to "teachings" on Christian doctrine, I must expose here with all clarity my point of view, as head of the Order and as principal responsible for what refers to Western doctrine.

I do NOT believe in the value of intellectual teaching of Christian doctrine, whether in its biblical aspect, or in its mystical aspect, by means of texts. Forming erudites in biblical matters, fabricating theologians, in a word, does not seem to me either useful or desirable.

All martinists of white race, with very few exceptions, have received a religious education, Catholic or Protestant, in childhood. Most of us, with greater or lesser sincerity and mystical enthusiasm, have made prayers in youth, at least, and have taken Holy Communion.

Now well: if, when more grown up, we have distanced ourselves from the Church or from the liturgy in which we were educated, it could only have been, either for lack of mystical emotivity (the "faith" in its diverse degrees) or, more frequently, because of "mental doubt" that is, because of discussion about points of dogma or catechism, or for not understanding or not approving such or such actuations of the churches or their ministers.

Whatever may be of the two possible cases, the entrance into a path, into a pathway called "initiatic," has as essential, fundamental, UNIQUE purpose, it can be said, bringing us back to the Feet of the Lord, but with full equilibrium, that is:

NOT only with a partial, unilateral and exclusivist faith, nor with a theoretical faith without its logical and natural consequences: charity, forgiveness and tolerance.

NOT only with an intellectual, dogmatic conviction, tending to resolve everything with verse numbers or with kabbalistic schemes.

BUT with a tendency to equilibrium (let us not pretend more, for now).

Well then. The tendency to equilibrium, in a Western initiate -however small he may be- can only be realized in the following way:

1°) Knowledge of individual human constitution, theoretical and, at least in part, practical. That is, that the individual comes to know and to verify personally that he has a body, a soul and a spirit and that he verifies HIS OWN EXPERIENCE in physical acts, soul acts, mental acts, moral acts, mystical acts, without doubt, with all security and without the vanity or the pretension of believing that he IS ALREADY SOMETHING NOTABLE, for the sole fact that he has "rediscovered" that he can "handle" his stomach, his mind, his heart or his psyche, in part at least, as he handles his hand and his feet: imperfectly, only with part of consciousness of the act.

2°) Knowledge of the constitution of Nature. That is, to come to know, in a general way at least, and to verify practically in some way, that what occultism teaches is REAL and that it CONFIRMS what ALL religions taught, more or less veiled.

3°) To arrive at the full, sure, firm conviction, that THE UNIQUE REAL PURPOSE of the physical existence of humans is: one more opportunity, repeated, in each "life" (incarnation) of CULTIVATING, EACH TIME MORE CONSCIOUSLY, their "Body of Glory," that is: the SUPERIOR part of the SOUL, the only one that can come to: SERVE as expression, and healthy and pure instrument of the DIVINE SPIRIT that inhabits each form. This single point requires years and years of the MOST DIVERSE EXPERIENCES so that this is not something that the individual "accepts as probable, possible, logical, etc." but that he decides to LIVE IT AND PROVES IT WITH HIS ACTS.

4°) To arrive at the full, sure, firm security, that each one of us, although endowed with relative freedom, with certain autonomy or free will, and, FOR THAT VERY REASON. OF THE POSSIBILITY OF MERIT (Progress) and of RESPONSIBILITY, IS WORTH NOTHING EXCEPT FOR HIS ACTUATION TOWARD OTHERS, FOR THE SERVICE TO OTHERS AND "FOR HIS EFFORT OF OVERCOMING HIMSELF, provided it is done exclusively or principally with the intention of SERVING BETTER others."

5°) To arrive, later, at the full, sure, firm security, that WE ARE HELPED, DIRECTED, (with carrot and stick, that is, both to impel us to act and to try to prevent us from acting when we go "against" what should be) and to arrive at the DESIRE TO COLLABORATE WITH THE SUPERIOR WILL.

6°) ...(And I will stop at "six" for today...) to arrive at being able to again penetrate into a TEMPLE with body, soul and spirit (or at least, the partial spiritual consciousness) more in accordance with what the word TEMPLE contains: A PLACE IN WHICH WE SEEK TO RE-CONNECT WITH THE SUPERIOR, toward the Divine.

From these six considerations generally will be deduced all the reasons of the orientation we have given to our Venerable Order. But, as our rituals and regulations are clear in that sense, it is necessary to meditate and think a little. And, as this does not seem to be the favorite "sport" of the majority, we will try to help extract the conclusions:

First: To fulfill point 1°) exposed previously, it is necessary, above all: to study a little, observe quite a bit others and, especially: to observe oneself profoundly.

And, as this does not seem to be the favorite "sport" of the majority, we will try to help extract the conclusions:

First: To fulfill point 1°) exposed previously, it is necessary, above all: to study a little, observe quite a bit others and, especially: to observe oneself profoundly.

That is practiced in the life of each day, helped by the teachings of occultism, in what refers to methods of observation and verification, BUT NOTHING MORE. In what refers to observing practically the functioning of our diverse constitutive parts, this is achieved only with the condition that our life be "VARIED" in actuation: that is, that we have a professional or home life (the ladies) with its physical activities and moral and sentimental responsibilities; an intellectual life, however reduced or synthetic it may be; an ideal life: that is, lived aspiration to realize something noble and superior to daily living that is obligatory by necessity or routine; a mystical life, which can go from solitary meditation and prayer to, and principally collective ceremonies, in which individual effort and individual results also, are greater and stronger. All of this is necessary, indispensable, it can be said, just to know oneself and also learn to "handle oneself, dominate oneself, elevate oneself, etc., each time more easily, more voluntarily, more consciously, etc... As can be seen, the task of the first point alone is not small and without it there is nothing possible in the others.

Second: Experience teaches that only when the individual has made the due efforts to assimilate the theory and begin to live well the practice, although partial, of what is exposed in the preceding item, is when he begins to understand and feel what the STUDY OF NATURE means, that is, that he is just beginning to become aware of what occurs in himself and around him during the blooming of a flower, during the operation of a person, during a symphonic concert, during a liturgical ceremony, in a social change (which before he saw only as a "political news"), etc. (And only then his mind, enlarged by meditation and observation, and his heart, cultivated by the attention of affection and compassion already "incipient," permit him, simultaneously, to surpass the theoretical and pedagogical interpretations of the teachings and achieve contact with what those who gave such teachings really wanted to mean, whether in initiations, or in the revelations of all religions.

It can be said, then, that within that individual, although he still does not know it is so, his past incarnations are being evoked: as black, as yellow, as red; and this means: as (member who was of other civilizations; as faithful who was —with whatever degree of faith, little matters— of other religions; as aspirant or member of other sects or initiations; etc., etc.

The Veil of multiplicity is thinning, that individual is near the POSSIBILITY of being re-connected to the UNITARY initiation, he is a candidate for the lived philosophy of Unity...

Third: BUT (in our imperfect life there are always "buts",...) he has also reached the "sensitive point." The famous test of the "second life," of the "second birth" is near. I do not mean by this that he is going to read in a book or that they are going to tell him again, or that they are going to present him with the "symbolic imitation" of the Egyptian (or other) initiation of spiritual life.

NO. It is about something more serious: he himself, individual relatively free and, for now, all the more free as his great ignorance does not yet entail important responsibilities, is going to be subjected to a TRUE initiatic test: that of seeing if the attraction of money; if the pressure of society, of family, intellectual, professional, social, of language, etc., etc.; if his doubts or pretensions; IF his until then habit of worrying more about himself than about anything else; if all that and a quantity of other factors that would be long to enumerate, ARE GOING TO WIN ONCE MORE; or, if THIS TIME, he consciously, really, firmly is going to DEDICATE HIMSELF, that is, SURRENDER himself to the work of resuming function of CONSCIOUS SOUL over this world!...

This is the fundamental aspect of the fourth point cited previously and it is "at that moment" that failures are generally verified, which should not afflict more than what they actually represent: "a missed train," that is an opportunity that passed... but that will present itself again each time the individual really and sincerely seeks it again.

Fourth: As life is one, total and indivisible, it would be erroneous to think of the stages or points cited as walls or tanks, perfectly separated. No. In reality, all of this is a harmonic process —to the extent that harmony exists within imperfection— and many individuals are realizing quite a bit of the "first point," something of the second and third, when the fourth and fifth are insinuated to them.

For this reason, the best way (in any activity and especially in the initiatic) is always the collective. In it, effectively, the 5th point, that is, the POSSIBILITY, THE OPPORTUNITY and ALMOST THE OBLIGATION of realizing (and entering into help) service to others, is present from the beginning of the path. But, when the Individual is already realizing more or less points 1st to 3rd, it is evident that his mind understands, his heart perceives and his sensitivity captures, in an increasingly enhanced way, the call of others, the necessity, and also all that vibrates in each being that surrounds him.

But, when the Individual is already realizing more or less points 1st to 3rd, it is evident that his mind understands, his heart perceives and his sensitivity captures, in an increasingly enhanced way, the call of others, the necessity, and also all that vibrates in each being that surrounds him.

This is one of the most difficult moments, and, fully revealing my thinking, I would say that it is AT THAT MOMENT that it is going to be revealed whether the Individual is more or less mature for the Christian Initiatic Path. Effectively, the Individual may still have many physical impurities to eliminate, may have great gaps in his profane and initiatic intellectual culture, may have moral defects still very clearly present, may even still have doubts about certain fundamentals of transcendent doctrines; but if in his heart, he feels, NOT as decision, NOT as act of determined will, NOT as more reasonable orientation to follow, NOT as logical imitation of more advanced persons, BUT as a desire, as a necessity, as something that is part of his vital functions, as much as breathing, eating and sleeping, THE DEDICATING HIMSELF TO OTHERS, then it is possible that he really enters the path that leads to The Initiation.

However, before it will still be necessary that it be verified if in his "Serving" there are no exclusivisms, no dogmatisms or indifferences, if there is also no imbalance (ceasing to attend to relatives, persons or near things and commitments of all kinds assumed before) by dedicating himself to "serve" or to "progress" at the price of others' pain.

This stage is LONG, it is very long, and not few are the abandonments at this height of the journey... but let us remember that ALL will return to register for the test, once and again, until reaching the goal.

Fifth: Generally, no one can travel through a large part of points or stages 1st to 3rd, or first to beginnings of the fourth without having had some opportunity or opportunities to see, hear, witness or almost always to verify personally the EXISTENCE of Beings Superior to the common of mortals:

Whether through cures requested in prayer — individual or collective.

Whether through various psychic phenomena, of objective order: vision, audition, etc.

Whether through general sensation, that is, through that special state that each one in his heart and conscience KNOWS HOW IT IS, when a Master approaches or makes his Influence felt.

In short, through the most varied possible modes, the Individual always knows, for having lived it in some mode, that there is HELP, an ORIENTATION and a PROTECTION for all Beings without exception, but, which becomes more perceptible for those who seek to feel it to COLLABORATE with it.

In short, through the most varied possible modes, the Individual always knows, for having lived it in some mode, that there is HELP, an ORIENTATION and a PROTECTION for all Beings without exception, but, which becomes more perceptible for those who seek to feel it to COLLABORATE with it.

Well then: revealing once more, in this article, my thinking, I must recognize that, for reasons that would be long to expose, Oriental methods are more appropriate to make perceptible more easily and rapidly the particular aspect of this fifth point. And this is of great importance, since the Individual who has lived, even if only once, the clear vision or clear audition, BOTH THINGS ACCOMPANIED BY A DETERMINED STATE, OR ONLY THAT SPECIAL STATE WITH THE FULL INTERNAL SECURITY OF WHAT IT MEANS, that Individual will not only be incapable even if he wanted to, of forgetting what was lived, but each time he sincerely wants it, that memory alone will give him sufficient strength to continue on the path IN SPITE OF EVERYTHING.

And, by that "in spite of everything" I understand: his own imperfections, the difficulties of daily life and of initiatic life, etc., etc.

It is worth, then, stopping at this fifth aspect or point.

From the point of view of the "pure Christian way" it can be affirmed without any doubt that such experiences are not generally lived by persons except under one of the two following conditions:

1°) Or a full, continuous, valiant, almost heroic dedication to the service of others.

2°) Or a very profound, pure and disinterested devotion.

Both realizations are, we must recognize, extremely rare in our Western world or current mode of existence.

However, and thus revealing for the third and last time the full thought in this article, I would dare to affirm that the true Christian current can only make itself really felt in those individuals who, in one way or another, come to realize one or both points previously cited.

I believe this would suffice, by itself, to explain why, in the Martinist Order, there does not seem to be special preoccupation with exposing Christian doctrine or with "teaching" how one does to come to be, really, a CHRISTIAN.

Leaving aside all the little (and they cannot but be little) questions of interpretation of texts, of didactic or practical methods, of affinities with such or such Master, of ties coming from who knows what previous initiations with such or such Initiatic Current, I would not hesitate to affirm that the Christian Current will make itself felt in those individuals who manage to reunite the supra cited conditions and that the Venerable Master PAPUS, following in this what was taught by his Spiritual Master Philippe, summarized in this:

GOODNESSTOLERANCECHARITY

But it is not about offering life for a sick person... and 15 minutes later not yielding on a point of view.

and 15 minutes later not yielding on a point of view.

It is not about believing oneself Christian and having in one's house 10 dresses while passing as furtively near the one who has little clothing.

It is not about wanting to achieve union with divinity and being incapable of reconciling oneself with a neighbor.

It is not about wanting to assure ties with such or such Master and being indifferent to the pain or need of spouse, children, friends or brothers in ideal.

In one word: it is not about illusions, but about reality; it is not about pretensions, but about sense of proportion; it is not about opinions, but about the effective, the tangible, the "TRUE, WITHOUT ERROR, VERY TRUE."

And, let there be no doubt to the reader, that when, in the Orient, a Vivekananda organizes the Ramakrishna Mission and makes his Swamis manage to serve as heroic monks and sisters of Charity to their needy fellows, Christ is present in spirit and in LIFE!...

Let us leave aside, then, all doubt about the mode in which Martinism, or any other Order, leads its initiands and Initiates toward the Christ of Light, toward contact with the Internal Christ!

When we have lived points 4th and 5th and when we prepare, really, without error or illusion, to live the 6th making of our hearts and of our union only for the superior and beautiful a reality, the Venerable Masters of ALL Currents, the Beings of light of ALL Rays and the Divine Messengers of ALL times and modes will vivify the works and prayers of each one and those who feel special devotion or preferential vocation for real, living and practical Christianity, will feel the caress of the Lamb.

Chapter 5: Suddha Dharma Mandalam

Instructors, Hierarchies and the King of the World

Guru Subrahmanyananda Ashrama - (Central for the Ashramas of Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay)

SUDDHA DHARMA MANDALAMGURU SUBRAHMANYANANDA ASHRAMA(CENTRAL FOR THE ASHRAMAS OF ARGENTINA, BRAZIL AND URUGUAY)(Letters to: Jehel, S.D.M. P.O. Box 317 Montevideo)

Instructors, Hierarchies and the King of the World...

The Full Moon of Vaisakh, or full moon of May, has just passed. In all the Ashramas it has been celebrated. In Brazil, the VV.HH. Hypathia, J. Bonifacio and others, have directed the celebration of their respective Ashramas. In Uruguay, the V.H. Hipatia officiated, surrounded by some thirty dedicated Members of the local Ashrama and, in Buenos Aires, I found myself present to officiate in the Ashrama that the V.H. Isis directs, having the opportunity, together with the V.H. Luise, to receive the affectionate greetings of the HH. of the Buenos Aires Ashrama and to realize a heartfelt ceremony.

Isis directs, having the opportunity, together with the V.H. Luise, to receive the affectionate greetings of the HH. of the Buenos Aires Ashrama and to realize a heartfelt ceremony.

The publication of the Commentaries of Guru Subrahmania on the Bhagavad Gita Bashya has finished, in preceding numbers, and I hope that all the Members of the Suddha Dharma connected to this Central Ashrama have been able to clearly understand the Mission that incumbent upon the Divine Friend Sri Bhagavan Mitra Deva, as well as what is taught by the Suddha Dharma in what refers to the coming of the Lord Himself, in a Total Avatar or KRISHNAVATARA, expected within twelve thousand years, other eight great Instructors having to descend before, besides the Lord Mitra Deva, already incarnated in the conditions that have been published.

I also hope that such teachings will serve, both the members of the Suddha Dharma, as those of other Fraternities, readers of this magazine, to locate themselves more clearly in this debated question, confusing for many, of the Instructors and Messengers of Divinity.

There are those who, with very relative logic, on one hand, accept theosophical or analogous teachings, in what refers to the races that are to succeed on this planet before it completes its formal evolution; others, who accept the cycles taught both by Oriental chronology and by the teachings of Western occultism (terms these that I use for language convenience, since in reality initiatic reality is one) and, nevertheless believe, or seem sometimes to believe, that a determined Instructor or Avatar of the Past constitutes the supreme degree of revelation or that the current Instructor or next expected will also be the final revelation; or, even, that seem to signify that the fusion of humanity in a single belief or in an ideal of fraternity and purity is something near.

It would be highly convenient to see things with a more effective sense of reality and recognize the following, which is in accordance, both with what the Suddha Dharma teaches, as with what Martinism and other Western Fraternities have always taught.

1°) In what refers to Instructors: the successive eight positions that the magnetic POLE of our planet successively assumes, determine continental changes and periods of progress, apogee and decadence of racial civilizations.

This implies, then, the necessity of Supreme Instructors who come to reveal, that is, present again the Eternal Truth, under the special and predominant aspect most convenient to what is to happen in such or such continent, race, epoch and mode.

The two polarizations: involutive or of passive Inspiration, and evolutive or of conscious Inspiration, make necessary the Coming of TWO Supreme Instructors per pole position.

The two polarizations: involutive or of passive Inspiration, and evolutive or of conscious Inspiration, make necessary the Coming of TWO Supreme Instructors per pole position.

When we speak of the "past" we always speak with very incomplete information, since beyond Krishna and Rama, there is no published information. Therefore, speaking of the past means, only, trying to understand and feel the part of terrestrial past that is permitted for us to know and that varies from individual to individual, from school to school and from Church to Church, as from Sanctuary to Sanctuary, according to the special finality with which the Superior Invisible has permitted the creation of such human communities.

Besides such Total Incarnations of the Word, World Instructors also descend, that is, charged with reminding the World of the most essential part of the last Revelation and which part can be allowed to perceive of the Revelation that is to come.

But the ineluctable mark of the descent of a total Avatar is always and invariably: the foundation of a new type of civilization in a determined Continent and with worldwide consequences, of course.

It would be, then, desirable that those who belong to the Suddha Dharma, especially, completely leave aside all doubt about the possible superiority or non-superiority of such or such Envoy, whether a partial or total Avatar, in relation to the previous and the coming ones.

The most elementary logic says the following:

If the law of progress is real, and it is not possible to deny it if one believes or knows something about reincarnation and evolution, it is evident that every Incarnation of an Envoy represents simultaneously the following:

FUNDAMENTALLY: A special mission, which has as characteristic that of calling the attention of human minds and hearts to a determined aspect of moral, social and... if possible, spiritual realization.

SUBSIDIARILY, but implicitly: it represents a "sum," that is, the synthesis of all that was actuated by the Envoys of the same Hierarchy that have preceded him, plus the particular aspect that constitutes the special Mission that I have cited previously.

Hence the complete uselessness of comparisons and comparisons that, besides having something sacrilegious, are sterile, vain and even harmful. What, yes, can have and has its effective value is to study, understand and revere what each Instructor in his time, mode and place, has given to Humanity.

From the reverent study of said facts, one will always arrive at the same conclusion:

The Lord of the World (of "our" (?) world) sends at certain epochs Beings who totally represent HIS influence, to found a determined civilization, which has as purpose, besides the development of certain aspects of material, physical and social progress, the development of certain MORAL faculties that can only find field of cultivation in that type of civilization. Said Envoys leave: a Revelation and a Religion.

Said Envoys leave: a Revelation and a Religion.

With the passing of time, the Revelation is deformed by intellectuals (except some Great Initiates who keep it) and Religion is corrupted, both by its clergy and by its faithful, since, logically, neither one nor the others can totally realize the Religion given, since it represents the HIGHEST MORAL DEGREE that the humanity of that time can understand, feel and try to reach. But in all modes, it is always achieved that the civilization that is founded has the fundamental characteristics adequate to maintain alive the particular ideal of the Revelation and of the Religion that has served as its origin and that are, in reality, its living Roots in the Invisible.

Hence, from time to time, descend, on one part, Elevated Beings who, under the most distinct forms, try to re-stimulate the development of Knowledge, of Serving, of the Beautiful and of the Pure, in the particular forms that time and place signal. They are the Instructors, the Inspired of Art, of Science, of Morals and of Religion.

On the other hand, other beings, human in every sense, achieve, partially at least, to realize the ideals of one or more of the sectors of Truth cited and their example, while they are alive, and their memory afterwards, remain as proof for humanity of the possibility of realizing a Truth that is difficult to reach, but that represents the only path by which the human being is reborn to a superior condition.

As can be seen, there is, then, no discrepancy whatsoever between what is taught in Orient and Occident on this point.

2°) About the King of the World — Many times I have been amazed by the mystery that some pretend to surround the existence of the King of the World and of the spiritual Government of the same world.

To consider the matter in its general lineaments, without entering into that which can only interest those who have been in some mode in contact with the Great Hierarchy, we will see that, once more, what is taught in Orient and Occident is perfectly identical.

A Divine King: The God that all deists of all denominations venerate.

A Divine Mother: There is no deist who does not accept the Great Virgin, whether he calls her Mary, Mariah, Maya or otherwise.

A Holy Spirit: with that name or with NARAYANA, it is the same Lord of our World.

A Divine Prince representative of Humanity: NARA, or with other names.

I do not believe there is an advanced student of the West who has not related the 32 ways of Wisdom with the functions of the 32 Great Siddhas.

The error generally starts from terms and, for having seen in certain publications that, for example, Nara is the prince of yogis, there are those who have not realized that it is about universal, cosmogonic functions, it can be said.

The error generally starts from terms and, for having seen in certain publications that, for example, Nara is the prince of yogis, there are those who have not realized that it is about universal, cosmogonic functions, it can be said.

In what refers to the existence of a UNIVERSAL EMPIRE, of which the Visible Head rules our social and visible world, I believe that those who know the history of RAMA, who later changed his name to that of LAMA, as visible spiritual king, that is, as Human Agent of the Invisible Royalty, will have understood.

If in Martinism, for example, SYNARCHY has always been taught as a fundamental thing, that is, the social state to which humanity will arrive when, through mental comprehension and moral goodness at the same time, it organizes itself socially in analogy to the Universal, that is, when the lamentable "social classes" give place to social functions consciously and spontaneously performed, the Kingdom of God on Earth will be restored and Humanity will have consciously reconquered the Theocratic state it necessarily had at the beginning of its social organization.

Western occultists have never said anything else, Initiates have never pretended anything else, under a thousand and one languages, according to the times allowed them to express themselves.

The mystery never resides, then, in the lines of organization of the Universal, nor in the existence of the Hierarchies and their functions. Everything has been said, in a thousand and one modes, in revelations, religions, occult doctrines, kabbalistic schemes, etc. The mystery is in something closer and, nevertheless, more difficult to reach, because it is no longer about reading it or hearing it referred: it is about living it, about re-creating within oneself the mysterious bond between mental and soul consciousness, on one hand, and our own Individual Spirit, which, from all always and for always, is in contact with the Ineffable Truth.

Little by little, we will examine other points that connect the Traditions and Practices of Orient and Occident.

Subbhamastu SarvajagatamPeace to all the Universe.

Chapter 6: European Spiritual Revival and News Bulletin

EUROPEAN SPIRITUAL REVIVALSome news of spiritualism in France. The Editorial Board.

Many Latin American spiritualists will receive with joy the news that, after the storm passed in the old continent, new organized spiritual activities are already glimpsed and we have believed it interesting to show what they are and the orientation they have. We will begin by examining some movements that, today, have their activity in France:

A.R.O.T.(Association pour la Rénovation de l'Occultisme Traditionnel) It wants to study occultism on solid bases. It will denounce charlatanism wherever it perceives it and will remain halfway between a mysticism that is too exalted and a science that is too positive (material). It will dedicate itself principally to: Alchemy, Astrology and Magic.

COLLEGE ASTROLOGIQUE DE FRANCEConferences, generally the 1st Saturday of each month, and astrology courses.

As can be appreciated, strong is the impulse that spiritualism receives, only from these societies of external action, without speaking of the Orders that work without publicity of their activities.
