In June 1944 (see [translate:La Iniciación] of September of the same year) we have explained the march of future events until September-October of 1945, through an analysis of the planetary vibration between Saturn and Neptune and their effects on Earth and individual beings, demonstrating how said influence, which reached its maximum force from January to the end of April, was going to cause a period of chaotic, tenebrous and painful situations throughout the world, both social and collective as well as individual.

To the question regarding the end of the war, we have answered that only from late September to October of this year onward could we foresee a state of peace and harmony. Such prevision was based on the conjunction of Jupiter, Neptune, Sol and Mercury, from late September to early October, and of Jupiter-Venus on October 30, all this in the sign of Libra (Balance). In the analysis of these vibrations there exists no interest or preoccupation to predict what will be the agreements, conferences and treaties that can be foreseen during the mentioned period, but rather the desire to clarify how each one should collaborate within their ray of action, so that the beautiful constellation may extend its magnificent irradiation of good will, forgiveness and harmony over all humanity.

In previous articles we have compared Astrology with the radio phenomenon, adding then that the human being is the most perfected radio apparatus, capable of receiving and radiating the cosmic vibration emanated from the great broadcasting stations of the firmament, advising, of course, to control and revise said apparatus in order to avoid short circuits in periods of storm (which judicial Astrology calls malefic planetary action, but which should be only human imperfection, incapable of receiving or synthesizing still certain vibration).

### Transformation from Ego to Higher Self During Post-War Reconstruction

We all know that life manifests itself as desire or will. All our acts are the result of a desire. Desire is what determines all our movements, whether internal or external. The primary instincts are desire and in a higher degree also the emotions and thoughts. The acquisition of riches, the desire for power and success, etc., is all fruit of desire that belongs to the lower I. With material acquisitions the I or personality enlarges. With detachment the higher I manifests as spiritual being.

Through pleasurable experiences, or pain and all their aspects of vices and virtues, desire is transformed little by little into passion, emotion and sentiment.

If we channel the results of desire we will see that they are ephemeral, that they are part of the petty I, then something from our interior arises that guides our desire toward new visions, with new possibilities.

## THE INTERNAL STRUGGLE

We no longer consider instincts and emotions as fundamental; we begin to doubt, problems arise that were not even suspected before, the struggle becomes internal from external, and... this is the moment when a new entity appears in us. We feel that there is something more in us. We do not yet realize that we are in the presence of the Real Man. The struggle intensifies and one of the two contenders must be reduced.

It is a moment that Mabel Collins, in her book "[translate:Light on the Path]" says: "Let the warrior fight in you." Desire is more active as it rises.

When the Higher I acts, its appetite is refined, man uses his intelligence in a critical, firm and serene sense and can detach himself, disengage himself, from the slavery of desire. Man needs to know how to distinguish well the difference between the desire of emotions and pure action in which all the force-desire has been consumed. Desire always manifests in the form of acquisition. True detachment consists in retaining what is essential in man and the essential is **TO WANT TO KNOW, TO WANT TO BE SILENT, TO WANT TO DARE, TO WANT TO WANT**.

We are told that one must be careful of all those who stain their soul with insane passions and desires, because they infect everything around them.

If we do not transmute the inferior into superior, the suffering that will cause in our wounded personality will always be greater and this will increase our degeneration and impurity until we become enslaved by vices and gross passions, which will end with all our possibilities of advancement.

When persons lose control or those who get excited and are vulgarly called nervous, in reality these imbalances are produced by strange forces that act upon the nervous system.

All that the Instructors can do in the physical world is prepare the candidate.

### The Spiritual Hierarchy and Avatar Mission

We will continue treating the introduction to the Gita by Hamsa Yogui, which has just been published.

It begins with three verses by way of invocation:

In the first, Hamsa Yogui offers his praises to Narayana, Nara, El Narottama Sarasvati and Vyasa, in the style of those who begin the study of the Mahabharata, since by tradition they must do so.

As the Gita forms part of the Great Epic Poem, such praises were required.

In describing Hamsa Yogui the descent of Krishna and Arjuna, coming from Narayana and Nara respectively, he simply follows the style of the Mahabharata, where the former are identified with the latter.

He signals in this way the criterion that both Krishna and Arjuna were **MEMBERS OF THE SPIRITUAL HIERARCHY OF THE WORLD**—Supreme Body of "Adhikaras Purushas," according to Hindu scriptures—at whose head is found El Bhagavan Narayana.

Hamsa Yogui signals, subsequently, that these two messengers of the exalted Spiritual Fraternity—invisible Guardians of our globe—manifested at the termination of a great cycle in order to prepare the way for coming ages, taking human bodies only for the fulfillment of their mission.

Evidently, both were protected during their labor on Earth by powerful spiritual forces, whose grandeur escapes mortal comprehension and for whose description we find no appropriate language.

## THE ARJUNA MISSION

Arjuna, in the fulfillment of his mission, appears confused and discouraged, and his doubts and difficulties are expressed evidently in the course of the colloquy through his own questions and reasoning.

The explanation of this—according to the criterion sustained by Hamsa Yogui—is that Arjuna was performing the part that corresponded to him and expressed the sentiments of Humanity in the present state of its evolution, which made it necessary to obtain from the very lips of the Avatar the eternal truths that would have, once more, to be proclaimed for the guidance and sustenance of men.

## THE PREDECESSOR ACKNOWLEDGMENT

In the third and last verse of the invocation, Hamsa Yogui offers his praises to the Maharshis, to the Kumara and to other venerable predecessors, (Purvaryamscha). Frequently he cites, among the latter, the writings of Gobbila and of Narada as adjoining those of the Kumara, in support of his conclusions and arguments.

These predecessors—it seems—are cited as **Prachina Hamsas**, word, the latter, which evidently makes reference to some passages of the Mahabharata, which puts in evidence the existence of an officiant charged with expanding the knowledge of the essential identity of the Divine Spirit with the human: **AHAMS A**: "I AM THAT."

It results unnecessary to observe that this passage of the Mahabharata clearly suggests that Humanity has always had need of Spiritual Guides charged exclusively with maintaining alive in its memory the fact that the spirit of man is a spark of the Divinity, just as Krishna expresses in one of the verses of the Gita (Mamaivanso).

After the invocation, Hamsa Yogui proceeds to consider the first of the seven principal points in which all the matter of the introduction is discussed.

This point is called **"Gitavatara Sangati,"** that is, The Origin and History of the Gita.

Thus, then, in treating such origin, the author begins by asking why on the eve of the combat of Kurukshetra, the Maharshi Vyasa visits the blind King, Chief of the Kurus.

He responds to this pertinent question with very instructive affirmations for students of the Sacred Science, arguing that Vyasa's visit was due to two motives:

First, he was moved by his compassion toward the King, his own son, plunged in deep sorrow before the imminence of the fratricidal struggle, from which would result the annihilation of his own sons, his relatives and multiple friends.

Second—and most important—consisted in the Maharshi's desire to fulfill before the King the duty that befell him, in his character as first among the spiritual Masters of the World, duty that is proper, as it is enunciated in the verse of the Gita that begins with the words **TAT VIDDHI**, which Hamsa Yogui cites and on which he relies.

## THE MASTER-DISCIPLE RELATIONSHIP

It is a very peculiar characteristic of Hamsa Yogui, to reinforce his suggestions and arguments as much as possible—basing himself on the authority of the Gita, and occasionally on references from the Anu Gita, according to the known rule of interpretation that establishes that a determined meaning can be correctly understood by reason of its analogy with similar cases that appear elsewhere.

The verse in question—observes Hamsa Yogui—enunciates the great principles that govern the existing relationships between the spiritual Master and the disciple, and establishes as duty of the former, to impart to them the knowledge of **Brahma Vidya**, preparing them for the conquest of liberation.

According, then, with this verse, Hamsa Yogui demonstrates to us that the disciple is found comprehended within the three following denominations:

**1°) PARI PRASNENA** - Comprises those involved in this term and that corresponds to the aspirants who, through study, inquiry and reflection, are in the state of developing their discrimination between the transitory and the permanent, the illusory and the real.

**2°) PRANI PATENA** - Comprises the disciples identified by this term; that is, those who surrender to their Master confident in their Sraddha or faith in his wisdom, which will guide them safely through the steep slope, **"SO NARROW AND SHARP AS THE EDGE OF A RAZOR,"** —the Upanishads said— sure guide and free from errors and powerful help for the disciple regarding the development of a strong will, full of celestial knowledge, whose pedestal rises in infinite love professed by The Master, who will undoubtedly make him capable of discovering **"The Lamp of Wisdom"** (Jnana Dipa) hidden in the most recondite of himself (Atma Stham) by the light of his own conscious perception, (Viveka) to protect it from the weak glow of his passions, transmuting these into pure love and austerity (Vairagya and Tapas); and finally, through concentrated contemplation (nitya pravritta aikagrya dhyana) he kindles the brilliant flame of direct cognition and, therefore, his identification with the SELF. (Samyak darshanabhas).

**3°) SEVAYA** - Finally, those who respond to this grade are the disciples denominated with the word "Service." They are those who have verified that the true remedy against the great obstacle to spiritual progress—Swartha or self-isolation—is found in the practice of Sarvartha or Universalism, and they give themselves with full heart to the service of their brothers, whose service is offered to the Masters, who have as emblem a single and beloved word: **HUMANITY**.

## THE HIERARCHICAL ORGANIZATION

Hamsa Yogui explains then that the spiritual Masters of high rank described in the verse as **Jnamis and Tatvodarshis** (Masters of Wisdom and Seers Knowers of Truth) do not undertake directly the preparation of aspirants of the first grade mentioned above, but rather, assign this duty to Initiates of rank inferior to them.

This explains why the blind King was put under the tutorship of Sanjaya.

In sum, we can resume this fact in the following form:

The conversations between the King and Vyasa on the occasion of the latter's visit, simply demonstrate to us that the King had made true efforts to reach the meaning of the teachings existing in the Scripture, and that he reunited intellectual conditions and competence for spiritual training.

But it was also evident that he found himself under the influence of his egotistical isolation—Swartha—which prevented him from being taken under Vyasa's direct supervision.

As a consequence of such state, it was necessary to consider the King in the conditions of disciple of inferior class, in charge of an initiate of Sanjaya's rank, who, through the grace conceded by Vyasa, had acquired not only complete efficiency in Sastric science and in the development of the powers of clairvoyance and clairaudience, but also reached Union with the Divinity.

## THE STRUCTURE OF THE ATOM

According to modern theories, the atom is formed of a nucleus, which constitutes the enclosed or almost enclosed part, and the periphery, which is subjected to the influence of habitual agents.

It is admitted that cathodic rays, formed of negative electricity, are constituted by electrons of mass 1850 times smaller than the mass of the lightest of atoms, and that rays of positive electricity (canal rays) are formed of ions, that is, of electrified matter.

And even more, it is admitted that beta rays are electrons and alpha rays are helium ions.

It is considered that the nucleus is charged positively and as if surrounded by an atmosphere of electrons that gravitate around it, like planets around the sun.

This conception of the atom did not satisfy all physicists, and Thomson, among them, imagined another hypothesis. According to him, the atom would be formed by a sphere charged positively, in whose interior would be enclosed negative electrons. These would move according to a pendular movement, which would explain the fixity of spectral lines.

Rutherford, finding this theory imperfect in turn, returned to taking, modifying it a little, the conception of an atomic structure, comparable to that of planets and the sun.

## THE HERMETIC PERSPECTIVE

As for the hermetists, they consider that the structure of the atom depends on affinity, that is, on the masculine and feminine polarity that constitutes the primordial and absolutely universal law. The power of this affinity, varying with individuals, explains the vital phenomena of gravitation, translation and rotation, which work in reason of the mass and energy corresponding to each individual.

It matters little, then, whether it concerns atoms or stars, whose laws are naturally identical. In effect, there are only beings who embody the power and potentialities of the unknowable Principle and, for us, who can only consign the manifestations of all the beings that populate the Universe, it is always in the form of energy that we must formulate the acts of the agents of Nature, ephemeral personification of consciousness, of desire perpetuating itself through love, that is, through passionate affinity in immense whirlwinds of mass.

If we apply Rutherford's theory in the domain of chemistry, we will consider hydrogen, for example, as constituted by a positive electron called proton, around which gravitates a negative electron.

The helium atom will be considered formed by an alpha particle around which gravitate two electrons. The alpha particle would be constituted by four protons and two electrons, which would form a grouping capable of intervening in block in the constitution of other nuclei.

For any element, the atomic number is the difference between the number of protons and the number of electrons contained in the nucleus.

The proton constitutes a nucleus of positive electricity, the electron is a particle of negative electricity, the two having equal charges, but of contrary signs.

We see that, in the end, this theory returns again to the ancient doctrine of the unity of matter and bipolar or bisexual affinity.

We observe, on the contrary, that current physicists abuse excessively arbitrary hypotheses and mathematical formulas regarding the problem of the structure of atoms and their constitutions in ions and electrons.

We do not see why, in effect, one must stop the divisibility of atoms at ions and electrons.

One can carry these particularities indefinitely to the infinite division of matter, which, fundamentally, has no practical sense.

The ion and the electron, do they not correspond rather to vital manifestations, to dynamic states of atomic being?

It is evident that the atom is complex like man, animal, plant, and it is for this reason that one cannot establish the stopping point of intra-atomic energy, just as one cannot determine its exact nature nor calculate its real power.

## THE TRANSMUTATION OF NON-RADIOACTIVE ELEMENTS

Here now are the results admitted regarding the transmutation of non-radioactive elements by Rutherford's method.

This scientist observed that the alpha rays of radium C' give rise to hydrogen rays formed by protons, when they strike hydrogen molecules or compounds of scintillation.

Substituting nitrogen for hydrogen, the same hydrogen rays are obtained; the rays are also formed of protons, and Rutherford assures that the hydrogen observed cannot be attributed to impurities due to the velocity of the path of these rays in air.

The protons would emerge from the nitrogen nucleus and this nitrogen nucleus would be the nucleus of another element, perhaps carbon.

This experiment and others performed by Rutherford and Chadwick, consist in the bombardment of elements by alpha rays. Hydrogen rays would have been thus obtained with boron, nitrogen, fluorine, sodium, aluminum and phosphorus, and these two scientists admit that these hydrogen rays came from the nuclei of the bodies in question.

The gold produced in this synthesis (it is more than suggestive to observe that As 74.96 + Sb 120.2 = 195.6, figure close to the atomic weight of gold 197.2) under a catalytic influence due, whether to silver, or to arsenic and sulfur, could be an isotope, that is, a gold that possesses the general properties of known gold, but with a slightly different atomic weight, as a consequence of the transformation suffered by atomic nuclei.

In this experiment, the quantities of gold produced by transmutation are clearly appreciable and even measurable, if we refer to certain trials whose results have been communicated to me by different operators who have taken up my method, and especially in these last times, by Lestrade, whose letter I reproduce here:

Lyon, November 28, 1924

Dear Master and Sir:

I inform you, as I have promised, that I repeated your experiment concerning the transmutation of silver into gold.

On a quantity of 125 grams of virgin silver I put at the rate of one ounce per pound of orpiment and 1/3 of kermes, that is, 7 gr. 5 of orpiment and 2 grams of kermes.

I heated the silver to 500/600º for half an hour and brought the furnace temperature to 1150/1200º for four consecutive hours.

After this cooking, I added 7 grams of orpiment, 3 grams of kermes and 5 grams of ammoniac salt, 5 grams of saltpeter, 5 grams of borax, as well as 200 grams of grated soap, the whole amalgamated, put in a new crucible, over which I poured the molten silver; and I put the whole back in the furnace for 3 hours.

I then cooked the silver for 7 consecutive hours, and obtained a white ingot (the added elements are the cause of the loss of color of the ingot, primitively yellow).

I have equally performed the trials mentioned above, indicated by the wet method, treating the intimately mixed substances with pure nitric acid at 40º, first cold, then in ebullition, for many days. Then, the liquor was evaporated in a water bath, adding distilled water, filtered and subjected to the ordinary reagents of gold that evidenced the presence of this metal.

To obtain more considerable yields it would be opportune, without doubt, to make gold intervene as ferment by introducing a small minutely measured quantity in the mixture of silver, arsenic and antimony. This enters, on the other hand, into Le Brun de Virloy's theory on the growth of metals.

The metal from which one wishes to obtain growth serves, in some manner, as ferment, as cell, as in the case of crystal growth. For example, to obtain gold, it is necessary to place a small quantity of gold, which will determine the sought atomic change and will serve as center to a group identical to its own nature.

Thus, I precipitated a minimal quantity of gold by a ferrous sulfate solution and it was only after many days that the solution treated by ferrous sulfate no longer gave the gold deposit. The gold precipitation was more abundant and more continuous than it should have been in relation to the initial quantity of gold, and the drying of the solution had nothing comparable to that of ordinary reactions.

A research procedure capable of giving good results also consists in the formation of artificial mines.

In a small vat, a mixture of various metals and metalloids such as iron, copper, silver, arsenic, sulfur, iodine will be made, and this mixture will be treated with nitric acid or sulfuric acid.

After having observed the reactions, it will be treated with aqua regia, repeating the addition of baths several times, for weeks, by cold or by heat, so as to make the whole mass penetrate and to imitate nature that always works with extreme slowness.

Well understood, one can vary the combinations of the employed bodies, as well as the solutions destined to attack and dissolve them as well as possible. The insoluble parts will be taken and treated with appropriate reagents to dissolve them.

This method will verisimilarly permit obtaining transmutations in much higher quantities than those obtained with electrical bombardment of rarefied gases, because one must never forget that atomic disintegration is performed under the influence of natural agents much better than in any other way.

## CALL TO YOUNG CHEMISTS

In finishing this brief and imperfect sketch of a Chemical Revolution, I cannot help but launch a vibrant call to the new generation of chemists, whose mission is to make fruitful the deposit entrusted to them. They must consider Chemistry in particular and Science in general, not commercially but under their pure and disinterested aspect, and even without worrying much about industrial applications. It is necessary, in effect, that there be phalanxes of researchers exempt from all practical preoccupation; that young chemists distrust fashionable theories, excessive algebraism and magister dixit, small fractionation works that serve only to write a thesis and praise such or such Professor.

Let them launch themselves boldly toward the great problems of great discoveries: transmutation of bodies, synthesis of elements, rational and experimental classification of elements according to their evolution and their atomic weights; but let it be with complete freedom of spirit, without any preconceived idea and without school prejudices.
