## The 6th Race or Olympic Race (Part 1)
### The Evolutionary Destiny of Humanity
**Lecture by V.H. Lorelair, S.I.**
*Delivered February 13, 1944, on the occasion of installing the portrait of V.M. Cedaior in the Temple of Tatúa Vivekananda (Porto Alegre - Brazil)*
Some time ago, when Cedaior was still—physically—our brother and companion on the journey, I had begun to make known here a selection of lectures by the Persian philosopher Iranschaehr, whom we both greatly venerated.
The title of the last one was: "The necessity of Esotericism in our times." It spoke of the gravity of the current moment, of the dangers that threaten the new generation, if we did not succeed in giving them, under new form, the old doctrines and ancient wisdom, in such a way that would unite science with religion and simultaneously satisfy reason and heart. It pleased me greatly to bring you those lectures, for it was a way of presenting what is our own conviction—and what I consider Cedaior's mission—using the words of others.
Initially, given that the first condition of esoteric spiritualism is tolerance and understanding of our fellow beings, without which Fraternity, virtue of future epochs, cannot be realized.
I was going to translate the second part of that work, when I was moved to verify how it seemed to speak of Cedaior and his Mission. I could not have read you that lecture without speaking of him, of his ideal that—together, we had embraced—but I feared that in speaking of his personal mission, it would be interpreted as proselytism, and... I remained silent. But when Cedaior left us—on this plane—and now, when each day I see realized something of what he taught us, I believe I can read this part and speak as a disciple, without qualms. I will continue, then, from the point where we left the theme:
### THE GUIDES OF ESOTERICISM
Says Iranschaehr:
But when Cedaior left us—on this plane—and now, when each day I see realized something of what he taught us, I believe I can read this part and speak as a disciple, without qualms. I will continue, then, from the point where we left the theme:
### THE GUIDES OF ESOTERICISM
Says Iranschaehr:
*"Gratitude toward God and the Masters is the second obligation in every esoteric school. Gratitude toward God is shown by Divine Love in all our words, actions and thoughts. Active charity is the best means of proving our gratitude toward God.*
*"Gratitude toward the Masters: we prove it by recognition of their dignity and their sacrifice, following their words and examples.*
*"Already, from the beginning of human culture, and until today, there have always existed souls who, in spiritual evolution, had risen higher than their sisters. Those souls were advanced beyond their epoch; they already possessed within themselves the seeds of future states of culture. They knew the laws and truth, which, for the senses of their contemporaries, were still unattainable.*
*"Their psychic forces were more developed and their spiritual eyes were more open. Their intellect was relatively more free and more endowed with Cosmic Consciousness than in others.*
*"The strings of their Heart's harp were so subtle, so sensitive and tuned, that they could feel and make resonate the most delicate vibrations of the spiritual world. They had made of their heart, through multiple incarnations, like a sensitive disc on which the divine images of the superior spheres could be engraved.*
*"Such souls were always the precursors of the new era, those who traced the path for new ideals and more evolved cultures.*
*"To these heralds of spiritual Light, humanity has always remained greatly indebted. Their lives and actions remained—for centuries—incomprehensible or mysterious to their contemporaries. How many times did those souls sacrifice their lives for the expansion of divine ideals!*
*"It is in the coming century that humanity will live its resurrection, and many new laws will still be taught, and many spiritual forces will be given, that humanity today could not bear nor understand, for example: the memory of past lives..."*
### THE MISSION OF CEDAIOR
Let us leave, now, the text of Master Iranschaehr, for we have arrived at the point that refers to Cedaior: New laws will still be taught and new spiritual forces will be given to humanity, providing it, among other qualities: the memory of past lives. This is, precisely, what is found in the [translate:"Libro de las Leyes de Vayú"] (Book of the Laws of Vayu), which Cedaior considered his principal work. The new scientific and psychic laws, which explain the development of a new human race, crystallization and synthesis of those of the past and the one that will populate the sixth Continent.
The new scientific and psychic laws, which explain the development of a new human race, crystallization and synthesis of those of the past and the one that will populate the sixth Continent.
Such sixth Continent already rises in the Pacific Ocean; a few days ago we had proof of this theory of Cedaior, now accepted by official science; the recent earthquake of San Juan (Argentina), like most of those that occur in the West of the continent, was tectonic and not volcanic. This means that such earthquakes occur due to great "voids" that are produced in the interior of the earth, as a consequence of elevations or eruptions occurring in other places, probably near the place of the tectonic terrain, which, in the cited case, was not noticed for probably being within the Ocean.
In truth, we witness a grandiose spectacle of Nature. While on one side there is the collapse of civilizations and peoples and great modifications in the terrestrial surface, causing said seismic movements, a new continent is emerging, near us, and the sufferings of all nations bring to our shores, families from the old continent.
### THE OLYMPIC RACE
To the race that will populate the Pacific Continent, Cedaior called—by indication of his Master—: Olympic Race, because it is "there and in it that will reincarnate all the powerful Entities that once formed the Olympuses of the various Religions of the past." In it, which will be called the Great Race, as the 6th will be the Great Continent, will return all the Adept Masters, Apostles and Great Initiates and that race will represent a more elevated and beautiful expression of human life.
Someone will ask: What interests us in what will happen after centuries or millennia?
It interests us because, in this continent, is currently being born the sub-race of the Fifth Root Race that will give the precursors of the Sixth, and which therefore is called Primitive Olympic Sub-Race, or pre-Olympic. The 5-pointed star is the symbol that represents man of the 5th Race, or of concrete mind. The 6-pointed star represents the 6th Race, the man of abstract mind, endowed with the 6th sense, and, in Kabbalah, "6" is Love and Altruism.
### THE CURRENT TRANSITION
Since we are the "last" of the fifth and the precursors of the sixth, we must have realized faculties of the 5th and try to develop in ourselves the abstract mind. According to the law that Cedaior explained in his book, not all of us are yet conscious of the abstract mind, but each "current" life gives us the possibility of laying the foundations. It will surely be through Love and Altruism, and therefore there is no higher maxim, to help us advance on the Path of Evolution than that so simple and so grandiose...and so difficult to realize on earth:
**LOVE ONE ANOTHER.**
### THE ESOTERIC SIGNIFICANCE
It will surely be through Love and Altruism, and therefore there is no higher maxim, to help us advance on the Path of Evolution than that so simple and so grandiose...and so difficult to realize on earth:
**LOVE ONE ANOTHER.**
### THE ESOTERIC SIGNIFICANCE
This remarkable teaching reveals the intersection of geological, racial, and spiritual evolution occurring during the mid-20th century transition. The reference to Cedaior's [translate:"Libro de las Leyes de Vayú"] indicates a comprehensive system of knowledge dealing with the subtle forces governing human development.
**The Pacific Continent**: The emergence of new land masses in the Pacific represents not merely physical change but the preparation of appropriate conditions for the manifestation of evolved human consciousness. The earthquake patterns validate ancient knowledge through modern geological understanding.
**The Olympic Race**: The term "Olympic" connects this teaching to the classical tradition while indicating that the sixth race will represent the return of divine consciousness to physical manifestation. The "powerful Entities" returning are the advanced souls who guided earlier civilizations and who will incarnate to establish the new spiritual culture.
**The Symbolic Stars**: The progression from 5-pointed to 6-pointed star reveals the consciousness evolution from rational mind to intuitive wisdom, from personality-centered to soul-centered existence. The association with Love and Altruism indicates that this transition depends not on intellectual development alone but on the cultivation of universal compassion.
**The Present Preparation**: The teaching emphasizes that this evolutionary transformation is not a distant future possibility but a current process requiring conscious participation. Those living at this transitional moment bear special responsibility for preparing the conditions necessary for the sixth race manifestation.
This vision bridges theosophical evolution teaching with practical spiritual development, showing how cosmic processes manifest through individual transformation.

## Comments on the First Degree of Martinism (Continuation)
### Historical-Chronological Notes on the Martinist Order
**By Pitágoras, S.I.**
The Order of the Elect Cohens disappears as a visible organization and the Cohens, although they have entered Masonic Lodges of the Grand Orient or of Strict Observance or among the Philalethes themselves, continue, however, depending on an unknown chief at least until the year 1807.
In this year, in effect, Bacon de la Chevalerie, writing to the Marquis of Chefdeblen, speaks of the "absolute silence of the Elect Cohens, always operating, under the greatest reserve in execution of the supreme orders of Master G.Z.W.J."
In this year, in effect, Bacon de la Chevalerie, writing to the Marquis of Chefdeblen, speaks of the "absolute silence of the Elect Cohens, always operating, under the greatest reserve in execution of the supreme orders of Master G.Z.W.J."
Despite the minute searches conducted by Fabre, it has not been possible to identify the person of this hidden Sovereign Master under those initials, but his guidance must have been effective because the R.C. continued performing initiations for the Order, although it no longer existed as an organized body.
### THE TRANSITIONAL PERIOD (1880-1807)
With the disappearance of the Order of the Elect Cohens as a visible and efficient organization in 1880, we can, without taking into account the isolated or different activities of the Cohens in other Masonic or spiritualist organizations in the following years, consider as closed the first great period of the history of Martinism which, from the name of its founder, we have denominated **Martinesism**.
Born in 1767, this movement has had, as a salient characteristic, during the 13 years of its existence, an activity developed in the magical and ritualistic sense, activity that should be the logical and natural consequence of the orientation of the one who gave it impulse: Martines de Pasqually.
### THE EMERGENCE OF THREE STREAMS
We have seen how the activities of Jean Baptiste Willermoz and the Cohens of Lyon and Strasbourg were to have as a consequence and at the same time, the progressive distancing of the Cohens from the primitive organization and orientation and the gradual creation of that influence which was to arrive, as we will see, at the creation of the grades of the Profession in Strict Observance, that is, that spiritualist movement that we will study later under the denomination of **Willermozism**.
But, on the other hand, not all the Cohens followed the orientation of Willermoz and preferred to follow the mystical contemplative path that Saint-Martin pointed out to them. From this other tendency originated that other orientation which gave Saint-Martin to primitive Martinesism and which we will study in due time under the denomination of **Martinism**.
Although these two movements have marched parallel in time, we will speak of Martinism only after having dealt with Willermozism, whether to better individualize them, or because, due to their different characteristics, while Willermozism is full of events of utmost importance by virtue of operating in the Masonic and social plane, Martinism, due to its activities in the intellectual, literary, mystical and spiritual plane, not in a formal organization but individually, will consequently be much less rich in events but no less vital.
### THE PHILOSOPHICAL IMPLICATIONS
### THE PHILOSOPHICAL IMPLICATIONS
This transitional period reveals fundamental principles about how authentic spiritual currents maintain continuity across historical disruptions. The mysterious Master "G.Z.W.J." represents the hidden guidance that operates behind visible institutions, ensuring that essential teachings survive even when outer forms dissolve.
**The Triple Differentiation**: The emergence of three distinct streams from the original Martinist impulse—continuing Martinesism, Willermozian Templarism, and Saint-Martinian mysticism—illustrates how single spiritual impulses naturally differentiate to serve varying human needs and temperaments.
**Visible vs. Invisible Organization**: The continuation of Cohen initiations despite the Order's formal dissolution demonstrates that true spiritual authority transcends institutional structures. Authentic initiation depends on inner realization rather than external authorization.
**Historical Methodology**: Pitágoras's careful chronological documentation serves not merely academic interest but provides practical guidance for understanding how esoteric movements adapt to changing historical circumstances while preserving essential elements.
### THE THREE CHARACTERISTICS
**Martinesism** (1767-1880): Characterized by theurgical practice, ceremonial magic, and direct contact with spiritual entities. This represents the foundation phase where basic practices and principles are established.
**Willermozism** (1772 onward): Characterized by Masonic integration, social influence, and organizational development. This represents the institutional phase where esoteric principles are adapted to work within existing structures.
**Martinism** (1775 onward): Characterized by individual mystical development, literary expression, and contemplative practice. This represents the philosophical phase where inner realization takes precedence over external activity.
### THE HIDDEN CONTINUITY
The reference to Cohen activities continuing under hidden guidance until 1807 (a span of 27 years after organizational dissolution) reveals how authentic spiritual currents maintain vitality through periods when public manifestation becomes impossible or inappropriate.
The initials "G.Z.W.J." likely represent a formula or title rather than a personal name, indicating a function that could be filled by different individuals as circumstances required. This principle of "succession through realization rather than appointment" characterizes genuine esoteric lineages.
This historical analysis provides crucial understanding for contemporary esoteric movements facing similar challenges of maintaining authentic transmission while adapting to changing cultural and political conditions.

### Sagittarius: The Centaur's Wisdom and Authority
**Teachings of Surya S.I.**
Let us proceed to examine the influences of the 9th Sign of the Zodiac:
## SAGITTARIUS, OR THE SAGITTARIUS OR CENTAUR
This constellation, in its symbolic aspect, presents a double nature, for it symbolizes reward or punishment, as well as the sport of the hunt.
It is found described under the figure of a Centaur, with his bow drawn, ready to shoot the arrow. For that reason it was made that the Centaur represented the sports of autumn: hunting [translate:"à courre"] etc. Such Centaur is also symbol of authority and wisdom. Mackey, in speaking of said sign, expresses: "However, the starry Centaur, draws his bow to show his feeling about what you have done here below."
### THE KABBALISTIC CORRESPONDENCE
Kabbalistically, the sign of Sagittarius represents the thighs of the Great Universal Man and therefore represents the muscular base of locomotion in humanity. It is the emblem of stability, foundation and physical power. It represents, also, the centers of authority and command, physical, external. Sagittarius, on the esoteric planisphere, is occupied by Joseph: "His bow resides in his strength, says the patriarch, and the arms of his hands were made robust."
It represents, still, the powers "of the Church and the State" and the necessity of legal codes: civil, military and religious. It shows us the organizational faculties of humanity and the absolute necessity of "powers that BE," in this or that degree of development. We see in Joseph, the master and Egyptian legislator, the realized type of royal authority. The mystic gem of this influence is the carbuncle, which is a talisman of great power for those born under this sign. Sagittarius is the densest emanation of the trigon of Fire and is the constellation of Jupiter.
### THE INTELLECTUAL PLANE
On the Intellectual Plane, Sagittarius represents the organizing faculty of the spirit: therefore it indicates by its influence the external faculties of command, discipline and obedience to the authority that governs material institutions. Individuals born under such influence are loyal, patriotic, submissive to law. They are generous and free, energetic and fighting, of lively temperament, they ambition a position of power, being charitable toward the oppressed or afflicted. They possess strong conservative tendencies, their principal intellectual characteristic being: rapidity of decision, cold blood and ability in commanding or directing others.
### THE PHYSICAL PLANE
On the physical plane, this sign commonly produces well-formed persons, of stature higher than average, of sanguine complexion, oval face, brilliant chestnut hair, clear and lively eyes; in summary, sympathetic persons.
### THE PHYSICAL PLANE
On the physical plane, this sign commonly produces well-formed persons, of stature higher than average, of sanguine complexion, oval face, brilliant chestnut hair, clear and lively eyes; in summary, sympathetic persons.
Those born under this influence are of active, energetic character, lovers of sports or pleasures in nature; they are animating, jovial, free and benevolent. Among plants, Sagittarius rules: agrimony, betony and mallow. Among stones: turquoise and all stones with mixture of green and red.
### THE DECANATES OF SAGITTARIUS ON THE ASCENDANT
**(According to Julevno)**
Sagittarius grants, in general mode, certain physical beauty, well-proportioned body, agreeable aspect, tendency to baldness, rather elevated stature, high forehead, large nose, elongated face, bluish or grayish eyes, or of clear tones when they are chestnut. Character: frank, loyal, lover of what is sturdy and honorable, despising the vile and danger, dedicated and generous. Taste for hunting, sports and games. This sign has special influence over the thighs, buttocks and muscles and has Jupiter as regent or lord.
**The first decanate** (first 10 degrees) is governed by Mercury; it indicates much versatility or intelligence, right judgment, many aptitudes but with lack of method and fixed direction. Many sorrows in matrimonial life, struggles and oppositions. It promises success through one's own merit, through the study of natural sciences and philosophy.
**The second decanate** (degrees 11 to 20) is under the influence of the Moon; it indicates rich imagination, taste for travels, tendency to establish oneself abroad and probability of dying outside one's homeland. It indicates success, fortune, inheritance and protection or direction from superior women.
**The third decanate** (degrees 21 to 30) is ruled by Saturn; it indicates sober temperament, ponderous and philosophical spirit, which represses the force of passions. Fortune will be difficult to obtain, but it is secure. Success in literary or scientific works. It also produces artisans in metals.
### THE FACES OF SAGITTARIUS
**If we consider the "FACES" OF SAGITTARIUS** (divisions of 5°), we will see that, according to classical opinions collected by Dr. Salmón, they indicate:
**FACE 1st (0° to 5°):** Elevated stature, wide shoulders, strong trunk, long face, high forehead, marked eyebrows, swarthy complexion or with freckles, wide nose and mouth. The hair is somewhat wavy. If Mars is found in this sign, it produces a mark or scar on the face.
**FACE 2nd (6° to 10°):** Person of medium stature, well proportioned, face well fleshed, light chestnut, blonde or reddish hair, dark eyes and thick mouth and nose. The fixed star "Antares" is found here, it is of Mercury-Mars vibration and produces activity and success.
**FACE 3rd (11° to 15°):** Medium or low stature, chubby of body and face, well-formed members, beautiful complexion, grayish or chestnut eyes, scarce, clear eyebrows. The hair is usually straight, the mouth is small and lips thin. This face, which has influence of Saturn and Venus, does not grant much happiness.
**FACE 4th (16° to 20°):** Strong, robust, large person; long face with freckles, dull complexion, sunken eyes, wide forehead, dark hair. Thin lips, voluminous nose, long arms and modest attitude.
**FACE 5th (21° to 25°):** Medium stature, well proportioned, clear complexion, large and grayish or clear eyes, thin lips, cordial aspect. The first degree of this face makes the hair dark or black.
**FACE 6th (26° to 30°):** Tall person, amiable aspect. Round face, clear rosy complexion, features with certain grace and somewhat aquiline nose. This face usually produces workers and artisans in metals.
### THE SPIRITUAL DIMENSION
Beyond the technical correspondences, Sagittarius represents the principle of philosophical wisdom and righteous authority in human consciousness. Its influence brings the capacity to organize knowledge into coherent systems and to exercise power with justice and benevolence.
The Centaur symbol reveals the dual nature that must be integrated: the animal vitality (horse) and human wisdom (archer). The drawn bow represents the focused will ready to release the arrow of directed purpose toward its destined target.
The association with Jupiter, the "Greater Benefic," indicates that Sagittarian influence tends toward expansion, generosity, and the elevation of consciousness. When well-developed, this produces the natural leader, teacher, or lawgiver who serves the common good through organized wisdom.
The connection to Joseph in the esoteric planisphere is particularly significant, representing the power to organize resources wisely during times of abundance to prepare for periods of scarcity—a form of prophetic foresight essential for true leadership.
### THE SHADOW TENDENCIES
When Sagittarian energy is misdirected, it can manifest as:
- Dogmatism masquerading as wisdom
- Authoritarianism rather than authentic leadership
- Excessive attachment to outdated systems
- Moral self-righteousness that judges others harshly
- Tendency to promise more than can be delivered
The various faces reveal these different potentials, showing how the same basic energy can manifest constructively or destructively depending on other factors in the natal chart and the individual's level of development.

### Sagittarius Analysis Part 2: Character Types and Professional Destinies
**Teachings of Surya S.I.**
### INFLUENCE OF THE FACES OF SAGITTARIUS IN THE ASCENDANT
**(According to old authors)**
**First face:** Sober, honest, amiable character, of few words, lover of peace, serviceable and with tendency to melancholy.
**Second:** Religious, honest and loyal person, friend of faith, study and justice.
**Third:** Jovial, good person, lover of duty and honorable, active, of good constitution, who will live for many years.
**Fourth:** Proud, lover of flattery, trafficker in religion, hypocritical.
**Fifth:** Violent, inconstant, deceiving, talkative, witty and crude in words.
**Sixth:** Just, sincere, loyal and dedicated but changeable, friend of social life, lively and passionate.
### THE FACES OF SAGITTARIUS ON THE MIDHEAVEN:
**First face:** Grants success and certain fame.
**Second:** Many friends and success as doctor, priest or magistrate.
**Third:** Feminine protection, many friendships, ecclesiastical or administrative dignities.
**Fourth:** Discredit or ruin caused by frequenting vulgar women.
**Fifth:** Many sorrows in sentimental matters or displeasures through imprudence.
**Sixth:** Can achieve a function in the Army or in the Church, but without great distinction. This face usually indicates doctors, chemists, pharmacists and druggists.
### THE ADMINISTRATIVE TENDENCY
It is a general tendency of Sagittarius the "administration" and therefore those born in this sign have the capacity, tendency or opportunity to administer goods or money belonging to others. According to the face in which they are born and the aspects, they will do it "well or badly," but the tendency exists in almost all of them.
### THE DEEPER SIGNIFICANCE OF SAGITTARIAN ADMINISTRATION
This remarkable observation about Sagittarius's administrative tendency reveals profound insights into the sign's essential nature. The management of others' resources represents a form of stewardship that requires both practical wisdom and moral integrity.
**The Jupiter Influence**: As ruler of Sagittarius, Jupiter brings the expansive, generous quality that makes Sagittarian types natural administrators of collective resources. Their vision extends beyond personal gain to encompass the welfare of the communities they serve.
**The Joseph Archetype**: The biblical Joseph, assigned to Sagittarius in the esoteric planisphere, exemplifies perfect administration. His management of Egypt's resources during seven years of plenty to prepare for seven years of famine demonstrates the prophetic foresight and practical wisdom characteristic of evolved Sagittarian consciousness.
His management of Egypt's resources during seven years of plenty to prepare for seven years of famine demonstrates the prophetic foresight and practical wisdom characteristic of evolved Sagittarian consciousness.
**Moral Responsibility**: The notation that Sagittarian administration can be "well or badly" executed according to aspects and face placement emphasizes that this sign's power brings corresponding responsibility. The same organizational ability that can preserve and multiply resources can also squander or misappropriate them.
### PROFESSIONAL APPLICATIONS
The detailed analysis of faces reveals specific professional aptitudes:
**Religious and Educational Careers** (Faces 1, 2, 3): The natural teaching ability and connection to higher truth makes Sagittarian types effective priests, educators, and philosophers. Their ability to organize and present complex information serves the transmission of wisdom.
**Legal and Administrative Roles** (Faces 2, 3, 6): The combination of justice-seeking and organizational skill produces effective magistrates, administrators, and public servants. Their respect for law and order serves social stability.
**Medical and Chemical Sciences** (Face 6): The systematic approach to healing and the analytical capacity for dealing with substances reflects Sagittarian precision applied to service professions.
**Military Leadership** (Face 6): The combination of authority, organization, and strategic thinking serves military applications, though the text notes "without great distinction," suggesting competence rather than brilliance in this area.
### CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT THROUGH THE FACES
The progression from First to Sixth Face reveals different stages of Sagittarian development:
**Early Stages** (Faces 1-2): Emphasis on personal virtue, honesty, religious feeling, and service. These represent the foundation qualities necessary for later authority.
**Middle Stages** (Faces 3-4): Development of social confidence and leadership ability, but also potential for pride, hypocrisy, and exploitation of religious or philosophical authority.
**Advanced Stages** (Faces 5-6): Integration of practical skills with spiritual values, though Face 5 shows possible regression into crude materialism, while Face 6 represents successful synthesis of wisdom and practical service.
### THE MIDHEAVEN APPLICATIONS
The analysis of Sagittarian faces on the Midheaven (career and reputation) shows how these character traits manifest in public life:
- **Success through Merit** (Faces 1, 2): Recognition comes through demonstrated competence and integrity
- **Social Achievement** (Face 3): Success through networking and institutional connections
- **Potential Scandal** (Faces 4, 5): Warning about how Sagittarian excess can lead to professional downfall
- **Steady Service** (Face 6): Reliable but unspectacular professional achievement
### THE EVOLUTIONARY PERSPECTIVE
This astrological analysis reveals Sagittarius as representing humanity's development from tribal organization to universal law. The sign bridges the personal achievement focus of Leo with the universal service orientation of Aquarius.
The administrative tendency reflects the evolutionary necessity for consciousness that can organize individual efforts toward collective goals—the essential quality needed for the transition from personality-centered to soul-centered living.
Understanding these Sagittarian qualities provides practical guidance for those with strong ninth sign emphasis, helping them recognize both their natural gifts and potential pitfalls in the development of conscious leadership and service.

## Principles of Yoga Mudra
### The Mysterious, Mystical and Silent Language of the Spirit
**By Asuri Kapila S.I.**
This brief article on Yoga Mudra should not be brought to light since these themes form a very advanced part of the Yogas that we propose to publish in book form.
The comprehension and assimilation of this magical silent language is not, naturally, easy to interpret, it being necessary to have developed a supersensitivity with respect to plastic forms in addition to a possibility of development of etheric vision that permits, thus, seeing, feeling and living the mysterious, mystical and sacred language developed by the inhabitants of the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh dimensions of space.
This article is dedicated to all those who have already rendered true worship to beauty and to those who, although they have not developed a vision of the superphysical world, have an exquisite sensitivity that permits them, at least, to vibrate harmoniously with that world of marvels, first step toward realization.
### THE NATURE OF MUDRAS
The name mudras has been given to a set of secret signs that are made with the hands and fingers. Mudras are also "mystical seals" projected in the ether by means of hands and fingers, creating thus, in space, true magnetic points of protection, projection and irradiation that are, for the true initiate and magus, points of support for their mystical work and their relationship with the invisible world.
Mudras have always been the true communication code between the initiates of Orient and Occident; they enclose and synthesize all the high occult science. When Initiates of Orient and Occident find themselves face to face, only with mudras can they, when the case arises, establish between themselves a true language that permits them to know the degree and hierarchy that they possess and also to transmit to each other the high knowledge.
When Initiates of Orient and Occident find themselves face to face, only with mudras can they, when the case arises, establish between themselves a true language that permits them to know the degree and hierarchy that they possess and also to transmit to each other the high knowledge.
Just as two mutes can understand each other by the movements of their fingers and hands when they form the letters of the alphabet with special signs, so also when an Initiate wants to put himself in contact with the High Beings of the superior planes, he puts into action a silent language expressed with the fingers and which, aided by word and thought, increases his power, arriving thus where he must arrive, immediately provoking an intercommunication between the two planes.
### THE DIVINE CREATIVE PRINCIPLE
The Supreme divinity created all the Universe with Thought and word and synthesized it with gesture.
When it was said [translate:"Fiat Lux et Luz facta est"] the creative hands performed the great miracle conceived by Thought and expressed by the Voice... All beings of the different planes of Nature possess their own language, the fish, the birds, the plants, etc., which communicate among themselves with the means of expression corresponding to their natures.
Why, then, should not the Beings more evolved than us and who for that same reason belong to planes more elevated than ours, have their own? Human beings need, to communicate among themselves, the word emitted by the larynx, word that permits them to express all their thoughts, desires, joys and sorrows. The more evolved a being is, in our world, the fewer words he needs to express himself and, as he acquires wisdom, the less he needs to speak, for everything is expressed telepathically; while, inversely, the less evolved a being is, the more words he needs, coming to speak continuously since he is not accustomed to thinking and therefore needing to live in bustle. The language of the fool is boisterous, strident, sour and continuous. The language of the wise is soft, sweet, measured and... silent.
### THE SACRED TRADITION
We have said that mudras are not only secret signs, but also ancient Sanskrit characters of magical efficacy. The ancient Hierophants of Egypt, the Priests of all Religions, the Initiates, Cabalists, the Lamas of Tibet, etc., also spoke, through mudras, a mystical and symbolic language. The Catholic Church itself employs certain magical signs. The Popes receive at the moment of transmission of their high hierarchical degree, a true collection of mudras that are to serve them for transmitting blessing.
The Catholic Church itself employs certain magical signs. The Popes receive at the moment of transmission of their high hierarchical degree, a true collection of mudras that are to serve them for transmitting blessing.
We have said that, the more evolved a being was, the fewer words he needed to express his thought. Let us see now, in what manner the Beings who inhabit the superior spheres and who are invisible to our eyes and senses, avail themselves to communicate from time to time with us. Since it is not possible for them to employ a language identical to ours, since in the modality of life of the plane to which they belong there does not exist language by the larynx, in the form in which we perceive it with our limited comprehension, they express themselves through plastic, luminous and colored signs, variable according to the planes of evolution to which they belong.
### THE MECHANISM OF TRANSMISSION
If an elevated Being desired to communicate with some mortal in a Temple or other place, he would avail himself of a person who is in vibratory affinity with Him, which implies a previous preparation of the same by the Master in this or in previous incarnations. In this case the Master expresses himself, availing himself of the disciple or [translate:Chela] who will thus reproduce the thoughts, words or gestures of Him. In such form, the Master will be able to impart, by means of the hands of the disciple, blessings, projections of magnetic force etc., that will arrive at influencing the environment, objects and beings gathered in the Temple where the magical operation is performed. This explains the special etheric vibration in said environment perceivable by many, the therapeutic results obtained on sick persons present or distant and the presence of other Masters who, by said etheric vibration, are attracted.
If a person, in a closed place, scattered with a fine sprayer a perfume and did this operation day by day, there would come a moment when said place would remain so saturated with perfume that no one, strange to the place, could enter it and resist there for much time, due to lack of progressive adaptation.
### THE SATURATION PRINCIPLE
Thus it happens with Elevated Beings. They, sometimes, saturate us with their etheric hands through human hands, which they fit like gloves, of the person who serves them as intermediary of their powerful magnetism, to cure, bless, harmonize, protect and elevate our vibratory tone, preparing it thus so that, becoming pure and clean, the Master can make himself present. All the Masters of the ancient secret schools [translate:Yogacharyas] of Northern Buddhism, the Indo [translate:Tantrikas] and the Lamas of Tibet communicate by this means with their disciples after these have received the great Initiation.
All the Masters of the ancient secret schools [translate:Yogacharyas] of Northern Buddhism, the Indo [translate:Tantrikas] and the Lamas of Tibet communicate by this means with their disciples after these have received the great Initiation.
If human beings could see what happens in those instants, when some great Beings offer us the so uncommon happiness of visiting us and through the intermediary of their [translate:Chelas] transmit to us a whole blessing, a whole revelation, we would remain astonished and the only thing we could do in those instants is fall to our knees and give thanks with our hearts full of devotion for that granted privilege.
We would see that, through the hands, come out true streams of fire of all colors, that the ether of our environment is gradually transformed until acquiring, sometimes, a blue, celestial, yellow, violet, silver or golden color, according to the spiritual hierarchy of the visitor. We would see that, sometimes, these forces work on our inferior vehicles to thus accelerate their evolution and open to us new horizons that will permit us to be better and purer and will also prepare for us the initiatic path in which we will be permitted to be face to face with our Master.
### THE FIVE FUNDAMENTAL MUDRAS
Each movement expresses some meaning. Each mudra expresses some sensation. We will give an example with the five mudras that we publish.
**Mudra No. 1** is called [translate:Abhaya Mudra] and projects an energy of security and protection.
**No. 2, [translate:Anjali Hasta Mudra]**, a gesture of adoration, supplication to Divinity.
**No. 3, [translate:Dhyana Mudra]**, is a posture of meditation.
**No. 4, [translate:Shuci Hasta Mudra]**, is a sign of polarization.
**No. 5, [translate:Kartari Mukha Mudra]**, the one that has the virtue of putting into action the electricity of the body when the electric and magnetic poles of the human body are known.
### THE PRACTICAL APPLICATION
We make vows that these crumbs of magical science may arrive at awakening new knowledge and comprehension in all those who cultivate the desire to feel closer to them the call of the Master.
May the holy hands of the [translate:Gurus] constantly bless all beings of the world and may, through mudras, they send us all the mysterious language of their Wisdom.
[translate:OM TAT SAT].
### THE DEEPER SIGNIFICANCE
This teaching reveals mudras as far more than mere symbolic gestures—they represent a complete science of consciousness projection and reception through the subtle anatomy of the hands and fingers. The explanation of their mechanism provides practical guidance for understanding how spiritual transmission actually occurs.
**The Evolutionary Perspective**: The progression from vocal to telepathic to gestural communication reflects the natural development of consciousness toward more refined and universal modes of expression.
**The Evolutionary Perspective**: The progression from vocal to telepathic to gestural communication reflects the natural development of consciousness toward more refined and universal modes of expression.
**The Principle of Vibration**: The description of etheric saturation through repeated practice reveals how consistent spiritual work gradually transforms both individual and environmental consciousness.
**The Master-Disciple Relationship**: The explanation of how evolved beings use prepared channels demonstrates that authentic spiritual transmission requires both divine grace and human preparation through multiple lifetimes of purification.
**The Universal Language**: Mudras represent an approach to universal communication that transcends cultural and linguistic barriers, based on the inherent correspondences between hand positions and states of consciousness.
This science offers contemporary practitioners practical methods for both sending and receiving spiritual influences while developing the sensitivity necessary for authentic inner guidance.

### NOTES
The Maha Boddhi Sangha will publish in the next number of this magazine,
all the true Buddhist Feasts and Anniversaries in chronological order for
better guidance of our readers and also a small Glossary of terms most
used in Pali, Sanskrit, Chinese and Tibetan, which will facilitate the comprehension of
certain words and their source of origin.
Every Sunday at ten in the morning and four in the afternoon (Uruguayan
time) ESPECIALLY GATHER IN THEIR REMOTE ASHRAMS
OF THE CORDILLERA and other Hidden Temples, the Servers of the
Asian Brothers of the Brilliant Mystery to radiate health over the bodies,
minds and Souls that are ill. To all those who desire to avail themselves of the benefits
of this Action of Service, we ask them to put themselves in receptive state from
ten to ten-thirty in the morning, and from four to four-thirty in the afternoon every
Sunday, mentalizing, as Key of Connection with the Venerable
Current, a Serpent surrounding in circle a Heart emitting Rosy
Rays and pronouncing mentally the following Mantra: [translate:NAMAH OM
KWAZEON].
### THE DEEPER SIGNIFICANCE
This New Year Mantra reveals the Maha Boddhi Sangha's comprehensive approach to Buddhist compassion, extending beyond individual liberation to encompass all sentient beings, political structures, and environmental harmony.
**The Three Evil Paths**: The reference to beings trapped in states of suffering reflects the Buddhist understanding of the lower realms of existence—animal, ghost, and hell states—which can manifest both literally and psychologically. The prayer seeks liberation for all trapped in these conditions of consciousness.
**The Three Worlds**: The invocation of Luminous Beings in the Three Worlds (desire, form, and formless realms) demonstrates understanding of the complete Buddhist cosmology and the sources of spiritual assistance available at different levels of manifestation.
**Political and Social Healing**: The prayer for peaceful states and the dissolution of warfare shows engaged Buddhism in action—recognition that individual liberation and social harmony are interconnected. This reflects the journal's consistent approach of combining spiritual practice with practical social concern.
**Environmental Harmony**: The request for beneficial winds and seasonal rains reveals understanding of the connection between human consciousness and natural cycles. This ecological awareness anticipates contemporary Buddhist environmental teachings.
**Environmental Harmony**: The request for beneficial winds and seasonal rains reveals understanding of the connection between human consciousness and natural cycles. This ecological awareness anticipates contemporary Buddhist environmental teachings.
**The Healing Service**: The organized healing work every Sunday represents systematic application of Buddhist compassion principles. The specific visualization and mantra provide practical techniques for participating in collective healing meditation.
### THE ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
**The Ashrams of the Cordillera**: The reference to hidden temples in the mountains suggests an organized network of meditation centers staffed by advanced practitioners. This aligns with traditional Buddhist monastery systems adapted to South American geography.
**The Asian Brothers**: This phrase indicates direct connection with authentic Buddhist lineages while adapting their work to Latin American circumstances. The term "Brilliant Mystery" suggests esoteric Buddhism rather than merely exoteric practice.
**The Connection Key**: The specific visualization (serpent surrounding heart with rosy rays) provides a unique technique combining Buddhist and potentially Tantric or Hindu elements, showing the synthetic approach characteristic of this journal.
### THE PRACTICAL APPLICATION
The healing service instructions offer concrete methods for distant healing work:
- **Specific Times**: Sunday mornings and afternoons create collective synchronization
- **Receptive State**: Emphasis on preparation rather than active effort
- **Visualization**: Clear symbolic technique for establishing connection
- **Mantra**: Sacred sound for maintaining focused attention
This represents a sophisticated understanding of how group meditation can generate healing effects across distance through synchronized consciousness.
The promise of future Buddhist feast calendars and multilingual glossaries indicates the Sangha's commitment to authentic traditional knowledge while making it accessible to Spanish-speaking practitioners.

## Suddha Dharma Mandalam
### The Avatar of Bhagavan Mitra Deva: Instructor of the World
**By Dr. S. Subramani Iyer, LL.D. (Swami Subrahmaniananda)**
### PROLOGUE¹
In the course of the introduction, in English, to the [translate:Upadghata] of Hamsa Yogui (Introduction to the study of the Bhagavad Gita) which has been published as one of the volumes of the series of the Suddha Dharma Mandalam, allusion is made to the birth of Bhagavan Mitra Deva, as a great Instructor.
When this publication appeared little was known about him, except by some scarce and select Members of the [translate:Mandalam], who occupied an elevated rank in the Organization. Since then, we know that a work in Sanskrit has been composed (which will fill a volume of five hundred pages, double crown size) about His Advent as a Master of the Suddha Dharma, and of His mission.
**SUCH BOOK IS TO SERVE AS AUTHENTIC HISTORY ON SAID THEME TO BE PRESERVED IN THE ARCHIVES OF THE MANDALAM.** If this history will be published, or not, in the near future and in form accessible to readers in general, is more than can be said at present. However, readers will find in the following pages, a translation of a brief memorandum on the matter, compiled as prompt information, by members of the [translate:Mandalam], who look upon Bhagavan Mitra Deva as the coming Instructor of the World.
Said memorandum concludes with the return of the Deva to [translate:Brahma Vanam], one of the remote retreats of the Suddha Dharma Mandalam, situated in the confines of Kashmir toward the South. No information is announced yet regarding the posterior activities of the Infant Instructor, who currently is around six years of age². This is possibly attributable to the fact that it is judged premature to enter into such matters.
I believe that, to conclude these few lines, I can add some words regarding what can be considered the first tangible exteriorization of the events narrated in the summary here translated. And it is that the enthusiasm awakened among the members of the [translate:Mandalam] by these events has been so vehement, that it has made many of the members of the [translate:Mandalam], who until here had dedicated themselves to silent spiritual work, have resolved to march to the world, to preach the Suddha Dharma and try to realize reforms in the life of people in general, not only in India, but also in other countries, and thus conduct them materially to their well-being.
And it seems that four members of the [translate:Mandalam], very highly placed, namely: Swami Sivananda, Swami Atreyananda and two more, very versed in the English language, already arrived in the United States of America and are studying the conditions of that country, before beginning their work as initiators in this movement.
Considering how well endowed these ascetics are for the noble enterprise they have undertaken, it is to be sincerely desired that such contingent of workers, of extraordinary character, give impulse to the cause of reconstruction, today so urgent everywhere. May their selfless labor, through the grace of Bhagavan [translate:Narayana], in whose name they always act, bring its legitimate contribution to realize those noble hopes that the new dispensation, universally believed already near and within human reach, will bring with it: fundamental and salutary changes in social, national and racial life throughout the world, which cannot but put an end to the many evils that today afflict humanity and thereby improve its conditions in all respects for centuries to come.
*Signed: S. Subramaniyam*
### THE PROPHECY
The wise hold as certain that when, as is proclaimed in the [translate:Bhagavatgita], justice diminishes in the world and the just find themselves subjected to misery, the Supreme Lord, of true and pure Will and Determination, who has taken upon himself the heavy duty of governing the world, which no one but He is capable of executing completely, appears Himself or takes Avataras in the persons of the Hierarchs and, putting an end to all suffering, restores and protects justice in the world³.
On the day of Full Moon of [translate:Vaisakh] of each year, the Hierarchs of the Suddha Dharma [translate:Mandalam], who consist of [translate:Siddhas], [translate:Maharishis] and [translate:Rishis], gather in assembly in the region of [translate:Badari Vana], known as [translate:Visala Badari], and, always watching over the welfare of the world, celebrate a great festivity in the course of which they invoke and offer blessings for the world. According to this custom, during the festivity that took place on the Full Moon of [translate:Vaisakh] of the First [translate:Parva] of the Five Hundredth (500th) [translate:Sankalpa]⁴ (corresponding to May 11, 1892), after the customary prayers and blessings were carried out, an important conference of the great Beings there congregated took place.
[translate:Vajradeva]⁵, a [translate:Siddha], who was present in the assembly, rose and with joined hands, spoke to them in the following manner. He said that, from the beginning of the Four Hundred Seventy-Sixth [translate:Sankalpa] (476th)—approximately the year 1450 after Christ, Avataras and other manifestations had appeared for the propagation of the Suddha Dharma and for the teaching of [translate:Yoga Brahma Vidya] or Synthetic Science of the Absolute. He reminded the audience how with the purpose of making this Ancient [translate:Sanatana Dharma] revive and placing it on solid foundation, have appeared since said [translate:Sankalpa] no less than forty-three Beings, who were inspired with the sovereign influence of the Lord, twenty-four great Beings who are at present really inspired by Him, and seven⁶ AVATARAS of the Lord Himself, in the persons of the seven great [translate:Siddhas]: [translate:Tepana], [translate:Badara], [translate:Nandobhadra], [translate:Dasanatha], [translate:Rinkana], [translate:Pandara] and [translate:Nakayogi]. All these manifestations occurred in diverse places and climates. Once the object that was had in view for these important manifestations was fulfilled, the respective great Beings returned to their own places and spheres. Having diminished, since then, by the prolonged lapse of time and other causes, the influence and practice of the Suddha Dharma, the orator insisted that, according to the desires of the Lord, it was the duty of the Hierarchs to do what was necessary for the restoration of this Ancient Dharma.
### THE PROPHECY OF MITRA DEVA
When [translate:Vajradeva] concluded his peroration, the great [translate:Muktadeva]⁷, inspired by the Lord, spoke to the assembly. He supported all that the previous orator had said and added that someone, of well-known position in the Outer World, would be chosen and through him the greatest possible efforts would be made to inculcate the practice of the Suddha Dharma among people and that this was the procedure that should be adopted to carry out the Will of the Lord.
He declared, furthermore, that such restoration would begin toward the end of the Five Hundredth (500th) [translate:Sankalpa] (approximately in 1916, A.D.) and that it would continue rapidly in that lapse of said [translate:Sankalpa] and after it; and that, during the second [translate:Parva] of the Five Hundred First (501st) [translate:Sankalpa] (1918-1919) would appear a fragment, an [translate:AMSA] of the Lord [translate:Narayana], who would act using a [translate:Siddha] and would spread throughout the world the principles of the Suddha Dharma; and consequently, that all should strive to do the necessary in order to effect the preparations for this Magna Event.
He concluded saying that each Full Moon of [translate:Vaisakh], special blessings would be invoked regarding this Avatar and for the adequate fulfillment of his mission.
He concluded saying that each Full Moon of [translate:Vaisakh], special blessings would be invoked regarding this Avatar and for the adequate fulfillment of his mission.
This announcement was received with acclamations of joy by the [translate:Mahatmas] there present, who were under the powerful influence of the Lord [translate:Narayana], [translate:Nara], [translate:Yoga Devi], [translate:Dakshinamurti] and the [translate:Kumaras]. Thirteen years after said meeting in [translate:Visala Badari], that is, in the thirteenth [translate:Parva] of the Five Hundredth (500th) [translate:Sankalpa] (approximately year 1905) an Assembly of some of the Hierarchs took place in the [translate:Pitta] of the Suddha Dharma [translate:Mandalam] in the [translate:Kolli] mountain range. The meeting was presided over by [translate:Yagnanandana Siddha], the Chief in charge of the [translate:Pitta] or Seat.
The [translate:Mahatma] [translate:Dharmadeva], addressing the audience, reminded them of the already expressed conference of [translate:Visala Badari] and observed that the moment had arrived to choose the person in the Outer World who was to be the channel for the propagation of the Suddha Dharma, and that the Masters, with the aid of their Yogic powers would do the necessary; that, in view of the imminence of the Avatar, it became necessary to introduce certain changes with respect to the work of the [translate:Mandalam] and that many reforms had to be carried out in the life of the people in order to assure their well-being. When [translate:Dharmadeva] gave end to his peroration, seven of the [translate:Mahatmas] there present took upon themselves the work for the cause, with the aid of their mystical powers.
**PEACE TO ALL THE UNIVERSE.**
### THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PROPHECY
This remarkable account provides insight into how advanced spiritual organizations prepare for and coordinate the manifestation of Avatar consciousness for world service. The systematic planning and preparation described reveals spiritual work operating according to cosmic law rather than random occurrence.
**The Hierarchical Structure**: The detailed organization with specific roles, places, and responsibilities demonstrates that authentic spiritual work requires both inner realization and outer coordination. The [translate:Siddhas], [translate:Maharishis], and [translate:Rishis] represent different levels of attainment and corresponding service functions.
**The Cyclical Nature**: The reference to specific [translate:Sankalpas] and [translate:Parvas] (24-year cycles) shows spiritual work operating according to cosmic rhythms rather than human convenience. This systematic timing reflects understanding of when consciousness changes are most favorable.
This systematic timing reflects understanding of when consciousness changes are most favorable.
**The Avatar Principle**: The emergence of Bhagavan Mitra Deva as an [translate:AMSA] (fragment) of Lord [translate:Narayana] illustrates how divine consciousness manifests through specially prepared vehicles for specific evolutionary purposes. This is not random incarnation but conscious divine intervention at crucial historical moments.
**The Global Mission**: The extension of work beyond India to America and other countries shows authentic spiritual impulses naturally becoming universal rather than sectarian. The selection of English-speaking emissaries indicates practical adaptation to contemporary communication needs.
The chronology (prophecy in 1892, manifestation around 1918-1919) demonstrates the long-term preparation required for authentic spiritual manifestation, validating traditional teachings about the Avatar principle while adapting them to modern circumstances.

## The Miracle (Part 1)
### A Story of Faith and Healing at Lourdes
**By Andrea Majocchi (Translated by Pitágoras S.I.)**
But, behold, all gazes turn toward the Cathedral. A wild cry bursts from thousands of chests. The procession exits from the ark of the Temple slow and solemn: first the clerics with the great cross, then the delegations of the pilgrimages, the banners, the gonfalons gleaming with gold, then the priests singing at the top of their voices the praises of the Lord and, finally, the resplendent and golden canopy supported by four ecclesiastics. Beneath the canopy, the Most Holy Sacrament, in a glory of gold and precious stones, is held religiously by a high Prelate.
The procession descends slowly and heads toward the right side of the immense plaza; the crowd agitates and moves fluctuating almost like a sea in tempest; the invocations become cries, faces assume incredible expressions; the arms, the hands of the sick extend toward the canopy... when, behold, an extremely sharp cry is heard near the Prelate: a sick woman has risen from the stretcher, has thrown off the covers and has stood up.
A disordered movement has occurred in the crowd, the woman is assaulted from all sides, the tumult threatens to crush her, to suffocate her. All want to see the woman who received the miracle, all long to touch her. Those nearest embrace her with evident effusion of enthusiasm.
With difficulty the [translate:brancardiers] surround and defend her forming around her an armor of protection, then they carry her, lifting her, toward the stairway of the [translate:Bureau des constatations].
### THE MEDICAL EXAMINATION
Some minutes later the door of the office opens and behold her, before us, still accompanied and defended by the [translate:brancardiers] but also followed by a crowd of curious ones who try to burst into the locale and who with difficulty are repelled.
The young woman is still dominated by excitement, in a state almost like delirium. She seems as if dreaming, with dilated eyes and does nothing but repeat mechanically, almost as if unconsciously, the same words: "[translate:Je suis guérie… je suis guérie!...]"
Dr. Boissarie, accustomed to these scenes, does not become disturbed. He has her gently lie down on the examination bed, leaves her quiet for some instant and, meanwhile, tries to obtain from the relatives some anamnestic information. But the family members also seem maddened. They do nothing but stammer some broken and incoherent phrases. The sister, however, presents a sheet, a medical certificate from a physician in Paris, who attests that the young woman, for ten years, has been affected by tuberculosis of the dorso-lumbar spinal column; a spondylitis that began slowly and that was treated with all possible means, through application of corsets, solar cures, iodine cures, etc.
In the patient a hunchback condition had also formed and, finally, a paralysis of the lower extremities had manifested, so that, the unfortunate was obliged to remain continuously in bed. In recent years, not only could she not walk, but could not even stand up. To this information followed a summary description of the hunchback condition and of a voluminous cold abscess that occupied, at the moment of departure from Paris, the right iliac fossa. This abscess, according to the physician's opinion, should be aspirated, but the patient, before submitting to further cures, had wanted to come to Lourdes and here had been transported on a stretcher, since she was incapable of moving, accompanied by relatives and under their complete responsibility.
### THE MYSTERIOUS HEALING
Dr. Boissarie read rapidly through the sheet, then passed to examination of the patient, who, meanwhile had calmed a little and had also undressed with the help of family members. She presented an evident lumbo-dorsal hunchback condition, but not painful; of the cold abscess in the iliac fossa, no trace. The motility, sensitivity, reflexes of the lower extremities resulted perfectly normal. Although the muscular masses were a little atrophic, the young woman still moved and lifted her legs. Invited to get up, she stood and could walk.
An exclamation of surprise escaped from those present among whom were many physicians. Boissarie read the sheet again; but he did not seem to be entirely convinced; he wished he had had a greater quantity of information; a more exact clinical history, radiographs... Oh if the physician who treated her had come personally accompanying her! On the contrary the two women, the patient and the sister, had come to Lourdes without even having joined a pilgrimage, and, therefore, the testimony of the train physician was also lacking.
The doctor returned to question the relatives and to examine the young woman. Conscientious as he was, the distinguished physician was truly troubled; he did not know how to conduct himself and, finally, took the wisest course, that is, to keep the young woman under observation postponing all judgment.
Meanwhile the Sacrament procession had ended, the crowd had dispersed in various directions; part to the ample basilica, part directed toward the Grotto and part, finally, had returned to the lodgings and hotels. That multiform cosmopolitan crowd was still vibrant with ardor and almost as if electrified by the suggestive atmosphere.
### THE DOCTOR'S REFLECTION
I also abandoned my observation post, greeted Dr. Boissarie and, step by step, returned to the hotel passing again through that hubbub of vendors and merchants, of that noisy crowd of pilgrims, but without seeing anything, without paying attention.
My mind was too saturated with impressions and my spirit with emotions. I still had before my eyes those faces ecstatic with piety in their expression, those imploring and tearful gazes.
My mind was too saturated with impressions and my spirit with emotions. I still had before my eyes those faces ecstatic with piety in their expression, those imploring and tearful gazes.
I still heard the heartbreaking cries of the faithful:
[translate:O Seigneur, guérissez nos malades!]
[translate:Figlio di Davide, abbi pietá de noi!]
and the arms extended toward the splendorous golden canopy almost as if they wished to force the Divine will to tear from it the grace.
Spectacle of suffering and faith!
### THE QUESTIONS OF SCIENCE
And, from among the crowd of the sick, there appeared to my imagination obstinately, the woman with the ulcerated sores and the young woman with spondylitis. How to explain these cases? By means of what unknown metabolic processes had those sores, which had lasted for years, disappeared healing in few days? And, that the sores had existed, there was no doubt, because the recent scars attested to it.
Perhaps the ulcers were not varicose, perhaps the diagnosis had been wrong, but, even if they were of another nature, such as tubercular or syphilitic, it was no easier to explain their cure. When has one seen a tubercular or syphilitic sore heal in a few hours?
And, that they had healed rapidly, was attested also by the relatives and even more by the nurses of the "Asylum" who had treated them some days before.
And the young woman with spondylitis? Was it that, in this case, the cure was less strange? In this case there also existed a medical certificate of indisputable value and recent date. The tuberculosis of the last dorsal vertebrae and of the first lumbar undoubtedly existed since the hunchback condition was well visible; and the paralysis, or at least the paresis of the lower extremities had, without doubt, existed, since the young woman for a long time could not move from her stretcher.
Not even the hypotrophy of the muscular masses was a symptom that should not be valued. It is certain that, if one wants to quibble, one could think that, during the time passed in the long illness, the inflammatory process had disappeared and that the lesions had been healing. Thus, also the nervous elements contained in the spinal canal could have improved their state and returned to find the conditions necessary for their function; possibility of function of which the patient had no knowledge, accustomed, as she was, for a long time, to immobility.
A powerful psychic shock could have acted as a stimulus, awakening her from that torpor just as a whip acts on an exhausted horse.
Very well. And the cold abscess? That voluminous iliac abscess confirmed by the physician before departure for Lourdes and, in which he prepared to immerse the trocar for aspiration?
Very well. And the cold abscess? That voluminous iliac abscess confirmed by the physician before departure for Lourdes and, in which he prepared to immerse the trocar for aspiration?
Where had all that corruption gone? Perhaps the fatigue of the journey and above all the jolting of the train had provoked the rupture of the abscess in a hollow organ, such as for example the bladder or the intestine and the pus had exited with the urine or with the feces. But, when has one seen an iliac abscess of spondylitic origin open into the bladder or into the rectum? And, even if this had happened, can one think that the young woman would not have noticed such an abundant evacuation of pus in the urine or with the fecal matter? Certainly there is nothing absolute in clinical practice, but, in this case one had to admit the coincidence of a quantity of facts, one more singular and strange than the other.
### THE DEEPER MYSTERY
Such thoughts tormented my mind during the afternoon and kept me awake during the night. When the next morning I got up I was still impressed and tired; I had even forgotten that, in the evening, we had to leave returning to Italy.
Those few days of pilgrimage had passed rapidly, they had been days of emotion and surprises.
At three in the afternoon all the Italian pilgrims had to gather at the station. Our train awaited us under the wide shed. All were punctual. I found again my travel companions sad to return so soon and who repeated that they would have stayed still and gladly in that country of dreams, in that atmosphere of enthusiasm.
I passed in review the sick; they were still in the same conditions as before; no cure, no improvement. I expected to hear words that expressed feelings of sorrow, recriminations or disillusionment, but, nothing of all that. I found, on the contrary, all resigned and almost as if reanimated.
Some manifested the intention of returning another year, of returning again until the Blessed Virgin would have granted them the grace. Others were full of confidence and intimately persuaded that their cure would have been verified after the return. In Lourdes they had implored the Virgin, in the homeland they would have continued their prayers and grace would have consoled them. Was it not written: [translate:Pulsate et aperietur vobis?]
In all, finally, indistinctly, had penetrated a sentiment of relief; a force of spirit, a strange and ineffable serenity, a moving resignation.
I found again the blind woman, blind as before, in the depths of a third-class car. She was, huddled, in a little corner, holding herself firmly to her husband's arm.
I found again the blind woman, blind as before, in the depths of a third-class car. She was, huddled, in a little corner, holding herself firmly to her husband's arm.
I called her by name asking how she was. She recognized me by voice because I had been very interested in her and had expressed many wishes for her cure. She thanked me with a moved voice. I wished for her to be cured after the return. She answered me: "If the Lord wants it, I will be cured; but I am content just the same because I am sure that I will see my children in Paradise..." I withdrew with tears in my eyes, astonished, amazed, admiring.
### THE TRUE MIRACLE
But how? All those people, came to Lourdes to implore graces and cures, had sustained sacrifices, suffered indescribable fatigues, enduring in morbid conditions the hard fatigues of travel, without obtaining anything and however, each one returned resigned, relieved, serene. Not a word of discouragement, not an accent of rebellion.
If nothing more than this had happened; was not this alone a miracle?
**THE END**
### THE DEEPER SIGNIFICANCE
This powerful narrative reveals multiple levels of healing that extend far beyond the physical cures that attract public attention. The author's honest medical perspective provides credibility while his spiritual sensitivity perceives the deeper transformation occurring in all pilgrims, whether physically healed or not.
**The Medical Mystery**: The detailed clinical description of the spinal tuberculosis case demonstrates genuine medical phenomena that challenge materialistic explanations. The complete disappearance of a documented cold abscess represents the kind of instantaneous healing that defies conventional understanding of pathological processes.
**The Transformation of Suffering**: The most profound miracle described is the transformation of disappointed pilgrims from potential bitterness to serene acceptance and renewed faith. This psychological and spiritual healing affects everyone, not just the few who receive physical cures.
**The Blind Woman's Wisdom**: Her response—"I will see my children in Paradise"—reveals the deepest level of healing: the transformation of consciousness that transcends physical limitations and finds meaning in suffering itself.
**Faith vs. Credulity**: The story distinguishes between naive expectation and mature faith. True faith accepts whatever outcome serves the soul's highest good, while credulity demands specific material results.
**The Ultimate Question**: The narrator's final recognition—"was not this alone a miracle?"—points to the real purpose of sacred sites: not to provide magical solutions but to transform consciousness and deepen spiritual understanding.
This account provides remarkable documentation of how authentic spiritual healing operates simultaneously on physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels, often accomplishing its deepest work in ways that escape superficial observation.

## 🌟 **THE PROPHETIC VISION OF 1945**
This February 1945 issue stands as one of the most prophetically significant in the journal's history, published at the precise moment when World War II was ending and humanity stood at the threshold of the new age. The convergence of themes reveals the editors' extraordinary understanding of the forces shaping human evolution.
### **THE GEOLOGICAL AND RACIAL TRANSFORMATION**
Lorelair's exposition of Cedaior's teaching on the Sixth Race provides remarkable anticipation of geological and consciousness changes. The reference to the 1944 San Juan earthquake as confirmation of Pacific continent emergence demonstrates how esoteric knowledge anticipates scientific discovery by decades.
**The Olympic Race Concept**: The notion that advanced souls from past civilizations will reincarnate collectively to establish the Sixth Root Race provides a spiritual explanation for the accelerated consciousness evolution observed since the mid-20th century.
**The Symbolic Stars**: The progression from five-pointed (Fifth Race - concrete mind) to six-pointed (Sixth Race - abstract mind, Love, Altruism) star perfectly captures the consciousness shift from rational materialism to intuitive spirituality.
### **THE INSTITUTIONAL WISDOM**
Pitágoras's documentation of Martinist history during transitional periods offers profound insights into how authentic spiritual currents maintain continuity when outer forms dissolve. The mysterious "G.Z.W.J." represents the principle of hidden guidance that ensures essential teachings survive historical upheavals.
**The Triple Differentiation**: The emergence of Martinesism (theurgical), Willermozism (institutional), and Martinism (mystical) from single impulse demonstrates how spiritual energy naturally differentiates to serve varying human needs while preserving essential unity.
### **THE ASTROLOGICAL INTEGRATION**
Surya's detailed analysis of Sagittarius provides both practical astrological techniques and deeper insights into the consciousness qualities needed for the evolutionary transition. The emphasis on administrative ability, philosophical wisdom, and righteous authority reflects the leadership qualities required for managing global transformation.
**The Administrative Tendency**: The observation that Sagittarian types naturally manage others' resources reveals the stewardship consciousness needed for the transition from competitive to cooperative social structures.
### **THE MYSTICAL COMMUNICATION**
**The Administrative Tendency**: The observation that Sagittarian types naturally manage others' resources reveals the stewardship consciousness needed for the transition from competitive to cooperative social structures.
### **THE MYSTICAL COMMUNICATION**
Asuri Kapila's exposition of Yoga Mudra presents a sophisticated understanding of consciousness projection and reception through the subtle anatomy. The explanation of how advanced beings communicate through prepared channels provides practical guidance for authentic spiritual transmission.
**The Scientific Approach**: The detailed description of etheric saturation and magnetic point creation bridges ancient practice with modern energy understanding, anticipating contemporary research in consciousness fields.
### **THE COMPASSIONATE ACTION**
The Maha Boddhi Sangha materials demonstrate practical application of Buddhist principles through organized healing work. The systematic Sunday healing service provides a model for collective consciousness application that anticipates later developments in distant healing research.
**The World Vision**: The New Year Mantra's inclusion of political peace, environmental harmony, and animal welfare demonstrates the integrated approach necessary for planetary healing.
### **THE AVATAR PRINCIPLE**
The Suddha Dharma Mandalam account of systematic preparation for Avatar manifestation reveals how advanced spiritual organizations coordinate world service. The detailed chronology and hierarchical structure provide insight into how cosmic consciousness manifests through specifically prepared vehicles.
**The Global Mission**: The extension of work from India to America and beyond demonstrates authentic spiritual impulses naturally becoming universal rather than remaining culturally bound.
### **THE HEALING MYSTERY**
Majocchi's account of Lourdes healings provides remarkable documentation of consciousness transformation operating on multiple levels simultaneously. The recognition that psychological and spiritual healing often matters more than physical cure offers profound insights into authentic healing principles.
