Historical Analysis: This publication of the sacred Hymn to Durga represents a major contribution to Western understanding of Eastern spirituality. The discovery and translation of the complete 26-chapter Bhagavad Gita (versus the commonly known 18 chapters) constitutes a significant scholarly achievement, revealing previously unknown portions of this fundamental text.

The hymn itself demonstrates sophisticated understanding of Durga not as a sectarian deity but as the universal creative energy manifesting through multiple aspects: Yoga Devi (Divine Yoga), Maha Maya (Great Illusion), and the synthesizing force between spirit and matter. The recognition of Durga as "High Director of the Hierarchy of the Adepts" and "Revealer of Synthetic Wisdom" shows mature understanding of how divine feminine energy operates through spiritual hierarchies.

The detailed footnotes explaining chakra locations, consciousness states, and Sanskrit terminology demonstrate the serious scholarly approach of the Chilean and Uruguayan translators. Most significantly, the coordination between multiple South American Ashramas and the Chilean center celebrating Avatara Sri Bhagavan Mitra Deva's 25th incarnation anniversary shows the international scope and organizational sophistication of the Suddha Dharma Mandalam during World War II.

Document 87: Terrestrial Magnetism Variations - Scientific Validation of Ancient Cosmic Knowledge

Translation from La Iniciación Vol. 3 No. 24, April 1944

By Pitágoras, S∴I∴

Cosmic Influences and Reactions of Living Beings

Variations of Terrestrial Magnetism (Continuation)

But in addition to these regular and periodic variations of terrestrial magnetism there exist others: DIURNAL, ANNUAL, UNDECENNIAL, ACCIDENTAL and LOCAL produced by solar, lunar and planetary influences, besides a variation due to the change of the velocity of earth's rotation and another due to the different position of the sun in relation to the Milky Way.

All those variations of terrestrial magnetism, which powerfully influence all kingdoms of terrestrial nature, as do variations of other irradiations, such as luminous, electric, calorific, etc., are revealed by the compass. We cannot in this article speak in detail of them, for space prevents us, but we will give a rapid synthesis of them.

DIURNAL VARIATIONS

We cannot in this article speak in detail of them, for space prevents us, but we will give a rapid synthesis of them.

DIURNAL VARIATIONS

Regarding this type of variations of terrestrial magnetism we say that they have been studied in the past century by the celebrated Italian astronomer Secchi. From his studies it has been established that the compass needle directed 4 or 5 hours before midday toward the West, directs itself toward the east with increasing velocity. At midday it returns toward the West for one or two hours and then returns toward the East where it remains until sunset. During the night an analogous oscillation takes place but less pronounced than the diurnal.

The amplitude of those oscillations is also variable according to whether the observation is made in summer or winter and they are influenced besides by the Sun, also by the situation of the Moon and planets in general, among which especially Jupiter.

Lunar Influence on Magnetic Variations

Regarding the influence of the Moon on variations of compass needle amplitude, Copin made many observations in Tunis between 1928 and 1931, showing how an electric clock advanced or delayed according to lunar phases.

ANNUAL VARIATIONS

Regarding annual variations it has been established that from the spring equinox to summer solstice, the north extremity of the needle moves toward the East and that for the rest of the year returns toward the West with an amplitude of 15' to 18' of angle.

UNDECENNIAL VARIATIONS

Regarding undecennial variations it has been verified that they manifest before the appearance of sunspots, which clearly shows their dependence on this particular state of solar life.

ACCIDENTAL VARIATIONS

Regarding accidental variations it has been observed that they precede auroras borealis, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and storms, thus permitting explanation of what the augurs of ancient Rome on one hand, and modern peasants on the other, have verified infinite times, that is, the announcement of approaching storms or earthquakes according to the variation of flight of birds and insects and the manner of behavior of many animals. In effect, before the storm, chickens wallow in dust and ruffle their feathers, swallows fly almost at ground level, etc.

LOCAL VARIATIONS

In effect, before the storm, chickens wallow in dust and ruffle their feathers, swallows fly almost at ground level, etc.

LOCAL VARIATIONS

We have spoken of variations of terrestrial magnetism produced in time. Let us now say something about those produced in space, that is, in different zones of the terrestrial crust. The constitution of the subsoil and the presence of underground water currents make the magnetic field vary locally which manifests with oscillations of the compass needle, as shown, for example, by the apparatus destined for ionizer production. This apparatus, in effect, gives different yield according to the point where it is placed. Besides the local or regional magnetic field is also modified by the atmospheric electric field and air ionization whose stimulating action on physiological life intensity is also beginning to be studied, especially in Russia.

Underground Water and Human Sensitivity

We say finally that persons who live in regions where underground water currents exist in the subsoil, feel the influence of electromagnetic variations existing in those regions and many of them are revealed by dowsers. We recall, for example, that Henry Mager communicated some years ago that some horses that were in a stable under whose floor a water current passed, gave evident show of agitation that disappeared when they were removed from that place.

THE VALIDATION OF ANCIENT KNOWLEDGE

So that terrestrial magnetism is under the influence of cosmic irradiations and especially of the Sun and Moon. And, as minerals, vegetables and animals, also man is influenced by these cosmic irradiations, which justifies and explains all that the initiates of all times have said about the necessity, especially regarding the practice of magical operations, of orientation, whether of persons or of objects.

All modern men of science imbued with materialism, should naturally laugh, because of their ignorance, at all those practices of magical nature that initiates realized and that were founded in great part on knowledge of those cosmic influences and on the necessity of orientation. But, when scientific knowledge about this most important subject is sufficient, then those who have been, by ignorance, qualified as charlatans, when not as swindlers and frauds, will be appreciated at their just value.

The Recognition of Human Magnetic Sensitivity

The Recognition of Human Magnetic Sensitivity

For much time it has been believed that man was not sensitive to magnets nor to variations of terrestrial magnetism, but today we already know that those influences exist and it is of enormous importance to study those influences on physiological and psychological variations. In the past all ancient initiates knew them, but it is only in the 16th century that various physicians and among them the great Italian savant Geronimo Cardano, used magnets in medicine. In the 19th century, many experiences were made by Drs. Luys and Papus and Drs. Bourru and Burot, without succeeding in awakening, as was to be expected, the interest of savants in this matter. Only since almost 25 years ago has the problem begun to be methodically and experimentally studied, principally by Drs. Abrams and Regnault.

HISTORICAL MAGNETIC CYCLES

We say, finally, to finish this article, that also the influences of variations of terrestrial magnetism on production and development of historical events, have been and continue currently to be studied.

Captain Bruch's Civilizational Cycles

One of the first who occupied himself with that particular influence of terrestrial magnetism has been the Belgian captain Bruch, who established in 1840 the well-determined cycle of a nation. Of this period, 520 years were necessary to be able to arrive at the maximum of civilization and other 520 years for progressive descent. Dividing this time into 32 periods of 16 years each, plus two periods of 4 years, one at the beginning and another at the end of the cycle, it was possible for Bruch to establish tables in which the magnetic dates coincide, with maximum difference of one year, with the dates in which the most important European political or social modifications occurred. According to Bruch, there exists a close relation between infancy, apogee and decadence of a people and the variation of terrestrial magnetism over the territory occupied by this people.

Contemporary Scientific Validation

Recently these studies have again awakened the attention of eminent men of science. Thus Prof. Tchijevsky, of Moscow, has studied the correlations between the appearance of sunspots and historical facts, and Drs. Maurice Faure and Sardou, Dr. Leprince, the Abbot Moreaux, have signaled the correlations before the appearance of sunspots and the development of epidemics or evolution of certain illnesses.

These most interesting researches are currently being continued by the International Institute of Cosmobiology of Nice.

Future Studies

In a forthcoming article we will occupy ourselves with the influence of orientation on living beings.

Historical Analysis: This systematic documentation of terrestrial magnetic variations and their effects on living beings represents pioneering research in what would later become the field of biomagnetics. Writing in April 1944, Pitágoras S∴I∴ demonstrated remarkable prescience in recognizing patterns that modern science has validated.

The correlation between magnetic variations and animal behavior (chickens wallowing in dust before storms, swallows flying low, horses showing agitation over underground water) anticipates contemporary understanding of how animals use magnetic fields for navigation and environmental sensing. The recognition that "persons who live in regions where underground water currents exist... feel the influence of electromagnetic variations" parallels modern research on geopathic stress and environmental sensitivities.

Most significantly, Captain Bruch's 1840 discovery of 1,040-year civilizational cycles correlated with magnetic variations represents one of the earliest attempts at scientific historiography based on cosmic influences. The recognition that "the magnetic dates coincide... with the dates in which the most important European political or social modifications occurred" anticipates modern research on solar activity correlations with social unrest and historical turning points.

The acknowledgment that ancient initiates knew these influences while modern materialist scientists dismissed them as charlatanry shows the mature understanding that traditional wisdom often contains practical knowledge later validated by science. The reference to ongoing research at the International Institute of Cosmobiology of Nice demonstrates how World War II disrupted but did not destroy serious scientific investigation of cosmic-biological correlations.

Document 88: Complete Translation Summary - April 1944 Issue

Translation from La Iniciación Vol. 3 No. 24, April 1944

Summary of Complete April 1944 Issue

This document serves as a comprehensive index and summary of the complete translation of "La Iniciación" Volume 3, Number 24, from April 1944. This profound wartime issue has been systematically translated into 10 separate documents covering all major articles and sections.

Historical Significance of April 1944:

This issue demonstrates the profound spiritual maturity achieved by South American esotericism during World War II's climactic period:

  • Timeless Wisdom During Crisis: Jehel's meditation on liberty written as Allied forces prepared for D-Day shows how spiritual teaching addresses both personal transformation and global healing
  • Scientific Prescience: Multiple teachings anticipate later scientific discoveries in bioelectromagnetics, quantum biology, psychoneuroimmunology, and environmental psychology
  • International Coordination: Successful coordination between Chilean, Argentinian, Brazilian and Uruguayan centers demonstrates organizational sophistication during global conflict
  • Sacred Text Discovery: Publication of previously unknown portions of the Bhagavad Gita represents major scholarly contribution to Eastern-Western spiritual synthesis

Revolutionary Philosophical Insights:

The Spider's Reabsorption Technique: Jehel's teaching that spiritual freedom comes not from "cutting" negative connections but from "reabsorbing" them back into consciousness provides a sophisticated alternative to common approaches of avoidance or confrontation. This anticipates modern understanding of how integration rather than suppression leads to psychological healing.

Etheric Double Ray Theory: The recognition that "between the eye of one who looks and the thing or person looked at there are TWO ETHERIC RAYS; one that goes and another that returns" anticipates quantum physics research on observer effects and non-local correlations by decades.

Personal Vibratory Tonic: Asuri Kapila's insight that "each cell of our body vibrates truly like small oscillating circuits" and their ensemble creates a "personal vibratory tonic" anticipates modern bioelectromagnetics and provides a bridge between consciousness studies and cellular biology.

Advanced Scientific Contributions:

Gaseous Food Classification: The systematic analysis of how environmental factors enter the body through air, including ozone effects, electromagnetic variations, and psychic contamination, represents one of the most advanced teachings on environmental health available in the 1940s.

Lunar Astrological Psychology: The detailed analysis of lunar types as "essentially mediumistic... like a mirror that reflects the images presented to it" provides accurate psychological profiling that remains relevant for contemporary personality assessment.

Geomagnetic Historical Cycles: Captain Bruch's discovery that 1,040-year civilizational cycles correlate with magnetic variations, with 520 years for rise and 520 for decline, represents pioneering scientific historiography that anticipates modern research on solar activity correlations with social events.

Mystical and Devotional Elements:

The Complete Hymn to Durga: The publication of this sacred invocation from the newly discovered 26-chapter Bhagavad Gita demonstrates sophisticated understanding of divine feminine energy as both creative and liberating force. The hymn's recognition of Durga as "High Director of the Hierarchy of the Adepts" shows mature understanding of how cosmic forces work through spiritual hierarchies.

The hymn's recognition of Durga as "High Director of the Hierarchy of the Adepts" shows mature understanding of how cosmic forces work through spiritual hierarchies.

Prana-Juj-Asana Practice: The complete instruction in this vital energy cultivation technique, including directional orientations (East-morning, South-midday, West-afternoon, North-night), numerical progressions (3 AUM breaths, 21 arm rotations), and detailed benefits (from physical healing to spiritual transformation) represents one of the most complete yoga instructions available in Western literature.

Chilean Ashrama Celebration: The coordination of 500 Brothers celebrating the 25th anniversary of Avatara Sri Bhagavan Mitra Deva shows the international scope and devotional depth of the Suddha Dharma Mandalam network during World War II.

Wartime Spiritual Leadership:

This issue demonstrates how authentic spiritual leadership functions during global crisis:

Practical Guidance: Detailed instructions for yoga practice, dietary principles, and environmental health provide concrete tools for maintaining well-being during stressful conditions.

Philosophical Framework: The concept of internal liberty transcending external circumstances offers hope and direction when political freedom is threatened worldwide.

Scientific Understanding: Integration of ancient wisdom with contemporary scientific discovery provides intellectual foundation for spiritual practice that satisfies both intuitive and rational faculties.

Devotional Support: Sacred invocations and mystical practices provide emotional and spiritual nourishment during times of collective trauma.

International Coordination: Successful management of spiritual communities across multiple countries demonstrates how authentic spiritual work transcends national boundaries and political conflicts.

Legacy and Contemporary Application:

This April 1944 issue represents the sophisticated maturation of wartime spiritual teaching that successfully demonstrates how ancient wisdom traditions can address contemporary crises while remaining authentically traditional. The integration of:

  • Personal Liberty with Collective Responsibility
  • Ancient Wisdom with Scientific Discovery
  • Practical Technique with Mystical Understanding
  • Individual Development with Hierarchical Service
  • Local Practice with International Coordination

Creates a comprehensive approach to spiritual development that remains highly relevant for contemporary practitioners facing global challenges. The teachings show how authentic spirituality must address physical health, psychological development, social responsibility, and cosmic understanding simultaneously.

The teachings show how authentic spirituality must address physical health, psychological development, social responsibility, and cosmic understanding simultaneously.

The systematic translation of this remarkable issue provides English-speaking students unprecedented access to mature esoteric instruction that successfully integrated traditional wisdom with wartime necessities, demonstrating how genuine spiritual practice serves both individual transformation and collective healing during humanity's darkest historical periods. The teachings remain particularly relevant as contemporary humanity faces similar challenges requiring both personal transformation and collective coordination for global healing.
